Goes through different topics - straightforward and to the point. Does have book recommendations. Some tarot spreads or things to do, which is cool.

This is an excellent introduction to mystical subjects. Astrology, meditation, magic & tarot are all included. The author does a good job of explaining each one without talking down to the reader. She focuses quite a bit on intuition and relying on it more than on what an "expert" would say. That being said, she also includes resources that she has found helpful. A very inclusive introduction into things mystical and magical.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It gives an overview of tarot, astrology, the spirit world, magic, and ritual and how they can be incoporated into your spiritual practices. The sections have homework and references to expand your knowledge. The book is well written, and the practical tips were helpful. The illustrations throughout the book are gorgeous.

A mish max of tarot, astrology, belief in past lives, organised religions and a sprinkle of Wiccan religion authored by a New York Jew. May be of value to the Tik Tok audience with a witchy atheistic. No “adult content” so would be ok for teens.

It is a beautiful book with beautiful illustrations, very well written
.
In parts it was fun almost like talking to a friend but with a lot of useful information.
From making tarot spreads to past lives, saints, rituals and spells that help one find their own way in the world of spiritual energies.
.
Every chapter so well organized and assembled that is a pleasure to read and turn pages through
.
It is an ideal book to have on hand or to give as a present to anyone curious or interested in the esoteric world.
.
Thank to Llewellyn Worldwide ltd and Netgalley for give me this Beautiful book in exchange for my honest opinion

I love the tarot spreads throughout the book, and the tarot section was particularly good. I did skip some sections that held little interest to me (such as the astrology section). I would still recommend this book to others.

I thought I had read everything (or about everything) there was to learn about Magic. I was so very wrong ! This book by Ms Einhorn is absolutely fun and a real doing experience. By doing I mean all the relevant and inspiring activities that go with every chapter. Its not just some boring book about stuff but a real manual to use to learn to do stuff in a practical and positive way!! My favorite story and chapter is called Young Shaman and a really enjoyable story is given. Enjoyable because its speaks volumes about how to live your life after you start getting better at finding your purpose or just having more fun while living. Illustrations made me smile and the sequence of chapters and activities grow as if by magic. Pun intended . This book is a one of a kind and worth the time it will take to do the things written and keeping a journal of the experience,

"A Mystical Practical Guide to Magic" is a very fun read. Einhorn takes the reader through her preferred crafts. First of all I'm going to start by mentioning the doodles that are over. As a very aesthetic based person, I found them precious and well done.. Okay now to the meat of it. I enjoyed this thoroughly. I was just bopping through taking some notes and then a quote hit me towards the end. "For others, it hurts to be alive..." and that hit me and made me have an actual connection. I've been depressed my entire life and this quote felt nice because someone else was saying what I've been thinking. Anyway this thing made learning engaging. I didn't get bored the entire time and I feel like I learned to like the person as well as her crafts. As you can tell, I loved this and I would recommend any new witches pick this up and read it. It's a lot more accessible than something by the Farrarst, for example, and has good recommendations for other resources to help you expand your views.

To be completely honest, this book wasn't for me. It's a bit too scattered, I feel like no one subject gets enough focus. There IS a good overview of pretty much everything, so if you're looking for that this would be a good book for you. If you already have a good bit of knowledge on most aspects of magic, tarot and the like then you should seek out a different book.

Mystical Practical Magic was just what I want from a witchy book: the author never talks down to the reader. On the contrary, she was nurturing and encourages the reader to do things their own way. The book didn’t try to do too much. The author explained that this was the beginning of the reader’s journey, not the entirety of it. There were interesting connections between practices that the author encourages the reader to follow: tarot is the important link running through the book, and to support this she has interesting spreads for the reader to sample. The illustrations were charming. There were further books and media to engage with at the end of each chapter.

I really loved the book. The author’s voice was soothing, and she is quite knowledgeable. When it comes out, I’ll probably buy a paper copy just to refer to.

Reading this I felt like I was hanging with one of my Witchy besties. Especially when she talks about the “Cool Stuff” we literally talk about that often and it made me laugh.

Throughout the book the author is reminding, or introducing, you of all the tools and cool stuff you may already have or want to learn about. The fact that she validates that we may have these things put aside and forgotten about them is reality. How many things we get and forget about or use for awhile then move on to something else. It just might not have been the right time for it, but maybe now is the right time.

From Tarot to spirit guides and more, there are a lot of tools at your disposal and this book is a great way to explore some of them and how they fit into your practice. A great read with lots to learn even for experienced witches. Be sure to take the time to explore and practice with the “Homework” listed t throughout the book.

Beautiful artwork pairs with a fantastic assortment of magical knowledge. I found this to be a bright and uplifting take on modern craft work. There were some great practical attitudes throughout the book, while still honoring those who find more spiritual aspects in their craft.

I have been dabbling in magic and witchcraft, trying to learn as much as possible, and found that this was actually fairly helpful as a newbie. There is a lot of 101 information for anyone who might be new, but also some 102 level information for those who want to dive a little deeper. While it obviously can't touch on everything, even at a surface level, there is a lot of information on astrology, tarot, meditation, intuition, mediumship, and more that she does dive deeper into as those are kind of the "basic" witchery skills. For a newbie, this is extremely helpful.
