Good follow up to book one, and tbh, I probably liked this better than book 1. The characters are good, but the mystery was very well done. Good pay off at the end!

Margo and Evie are preparing for the grand opening of their hotel. Things don’t go as planned when they get unexpected house guest and then a worker is killed.
This is a fun cozy that has a great set of characters.

I had read the first book in the series, but only once which may account for the fact I was put off by some of the characters. Patty, the local cop, was quite flippant and came across as rather unprofessional in her professional interactions to me. The two sisters are making poor business decisions, though Evie does admit it once or twice. Margot is a sycophant and enabler to a "friend". I recalled her being much more self assured. I did not enjoy the characters as portrayed in the first half of the book. When the mystery kicks in things get better in that regard.

I did feel the story dragged a bit and it was a bit of a slog to get to the last quarter of the book when things pick up and there is a surprise or two.

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Imagine if a murder happened at Fawlty Towers, and you've got the setting of Danger at the Cove. Evie and Margot are two sisters trying to get a historic hotel in the Isles of Scilly set for it's grand re-opening, but a storm, an electrical re-wiring project, a missing staff member, and some unexpected guests seem to conspire against them. When a body is discovered, and the local constabulary show up, things rapidly go from bad to worst. Engaging book two in the Island Sisters Mystery series.

I received this book for an honest review from netgalley #netgalley

let's just talk about the cover just for a second and how my mind blowingly beautiful it is!
But thankfully this book can back it up with a great plot and wonderful characters.

Margo and Evie are getting the hotel ready for their grand opening. They didn’t expect one of Margot’s friends from the U.S. to show up while they’re as busy as can be. But they prepare for the woman’s arrival only to find that she has also invited someone else to join them. The sisters go from working full time on the hotel to entertaining a house full of people.

When one of the hotel workers is found dead, everything seems to take a turn for the worse. Who killed Ollie and why? Whomever it is, they’re staying at the hotel with everyone else. How can they figure out who the killer is before they become the next victim? Their hotel venture and lives may be over before they even host the open house.

This is the first book I have read in the series and I had no disconnect, it reads fine as a stand alone. Just the right thing for British Cozy lovers.

A good cozy mystery set on an island off the UK coast. Evie and her sister Margot are trying to set up a hotel, with the rooms following themes of famous authors. When a friend of Margot''s shows up things take a turn, and then the murder victims start to show. I haven't read the first in the series, and will have to check it out. More likely a few things I struggled with (very minor) would be answered there. However, wasn't overly lost and would highly recommend this book and author.

I mostly enjoyed this book. It took a while to get into the characters. There's a couple of twists to the story. I was surprised by who the bad guy was, well one of the bad guys, the other I figured out. #DangerattheCove #NetGalley
