Christmas in NYC! Nothing better!
It is a magical, toasty, love- filled, happy time!
No matter when you devour this novel, you will absolutely feel the joy that comes around in December as we all wait and believe in Santa at this time!
There are so many wonderful characters! Sabrina, Ian, Grayson, Kay Thompson and her girl Eloise ( I loved all the Eloise stories!) all in the hotel!
This story is uplifting, joyous, romantic and definitely a feel good book. Get a cup of cocoa, a warm blanket and the fireplace roaring and just sit back and enjoy!

"That's when I realized that Santa Claus was really about the spirit of Christmas. Making someone happy was a miracle, so how could I stop believing in Santa Claus?"

I received an advance copy of, A Magical New York Christmas, by Anita Hughes. This is a really good Christmas story, set in New York. Christmas at the Plaza, what could be better?

The atmosphere at Christmas time has always been hopeful, kinder, and more magical. Anita Hughes' book did not disappoint. She has all the elements for a wonderful Christmas story. The iconic Plaza hotel, the week between. Christmas and New Year's, and a chance meeting with royalty. It's all here. Not only that, but she brought the character Eloise into this as well. Visiting the Plaza has been a dream of mine, and I feel like I've just spent a week there myself. And on top of that, she includes another famous author in this story which makes me want to pick up some of her books as well. I went into this book thinking that I had the plot figured out, but was I wrong. There is so much more to this book than just a cute love story. Thank you to Anita Hughes and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this ARC.

Rating: 3.5/5

Genre: Contemporary Romance and Adult Fiction

Review: It’s a Hallmark movie, in a book format…What’s not to love? Sabrina is a struggling writer who takes a job acting as a ghostwriter for a famous art dealer, Grayson, who’s staying at the Plaza over Christmas. Grayson recounts his story, starting by his early years working at the Plaza as a butler for Kay Thompson, the author of the Eloise books.

While staying at the hotel, Sabrina runs into Ian, a handsome Brit who is staying at the hotel. They both mistake each other for different people; she a rich socialite and he, Lord Braxton his boss. As the week goes on, will they learn the truth about each other?

Things I loved: The setting was super picturesque, I loved the second-chance romance storyline and it really did feel like a Hallmark movie. This was sweet light and filled your heart with happiness.

Things I didn't care for: There was a lot of name-dropping, which ended up being a bit annoying. The transitions between different years were not always clear with the formatting which was a bit confusing.

This book will be released on September 28th of this year, look for it at your local bookstore or library!

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for providing this ARC for my honest opinion!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

There is nothing like Christmas at the Plaza...

This book will easily fill your heart with so much emotion and joy as you follow not only Ian and Sabrina's romance, but also Grayson and Veronica's tale as old as time. Hands down is THE Christmas book of 2021!

As you read, you quickly learn that love is worth all the hard work you have to put in for it to be successful and that it is so timeless. As one of the characters in the book says: “Love isn’t a game of poker, where you see who ends up with the best hand. It’s about two people coming together and creating fireworks that only they can see."

Do yourself a favor and get this book as soon as you can for you or a friend who loves Christmas, or honestly love itself.

Thank you NetGalley for these advanced copy! I love a good holiday romance story and this book did not disappoint! It had enduring characters and all the magic of Christmas and New York City. I’ve never been to the city myself, but this book brought it all to life. I could smell the pine and feel the warmth of the Plaza from 2000 miles away. It made me long for butlers and my side table being filled with truffles and coffee without me even needing to request it. Christmas miracles, fresh snow, more than one love story, and an identity mix up set the stage for a perfect book to enjoy over holiday break next to the fireplace. I can definitely see “A Magical New York Christmas” gracing the Hallmark channel as my next favorite movie and I’m all in.

A Magical New York Christmas was a sweet holiday romance and it really did feel magical! Set at the Plaza Hotel during Christmas, Sabrina is down to her last bit of money and it set to work a job ghostwriting a memoir on a well-known art collector. This job meant that she would be staying at the plaza during this time and lo and behold would end up meeting Ian! Ian was a secretary to wealthy Spencer Braxton.
Sabrina meets Ian and they both end up assuming incorrectly about each others’ social and financial status. They are so sweet together and instantly form a connection that regardless of white lies, will be hard to break.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the arc of this book. All opinions expressed are my own. 4 stars!

This is a cozy romantic story to read anytime for fun. It is innovative in that it goes back in time and mentions so many famous people. I don’t usuallynlike this type of story but it was quite intriguing. Just a fun clean nice read...enjoy...

Oh what a delight!! I couldn’t put this magical story down! Everything about it was perfection. I was completely absorbed in every character’s story. The Plaza is like a character in itself that hosts many special moments.
A magical story, in the perfect location during the most special time of year makes this book 5 stars!!

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC copy. Anita Hughes to me is synonymous with a winter/holiday book. She out did herself with A Magical New York Christmas. This is a sweet love story with the famous Plaza Hotel as a backdrop. Sabrina and Ian’s story is a good one. What I loved is being a tourist in New York during Christmas - it seemed truly magical. What made this story really fun was the fictional background of Sabrina’s job and learning small insights about the author of Eloise. Such a fun twist! It’s a story you can re-read every year.

Any novel with the plaza in NYC at Christmas gets me every time! I read this out of the Christmas season (going into spring), it brought me right back into the cozy holiday season mindset which was fun. Sabrina, was a really lovely character (although I do wish there was more backstory to the character). The timeline jumps made for an interesting plot, along with the charming nods to everything NYC. Sabrina's entanglement with Ian was a romantic /sweet. Thank you for this arc!
