This is a great thriller and a worthy sequel to The Golden Cage. When we rejoin Faye Adelheim, all seems well with her world -- her company is successful and looking to expand, her daughter and mother are safe, she is free from the men who held her back, and she even thinks she may have found a new partner to share her life with. But then, one by one, events place everything Faye holds dear at risk, as she races against time to protect her company, her family, and maybe even her life. This book kept me engaged and guessing as I tore through the story. Recommended!

Unfortunately, this one was a miss for me. I found the story hard to get into. The trigger warnings are too many to count from abuse, child abuse, rape, etc... The ending was frustrating and unsatisfying. This just did not work out. Thank you for the opportunity!

Silver Tears is the sequel to The Golden Cage. Camilla Lackberg has done it again! Another stellar novel that continues the story of The Golden Cage.

When it comes to sequels I always prefer to read both books back to back . When I was approved to read Silver Tears, prior to the release date, I purchased the Golden Cage and I am so glad I did !

Camila Lackberg has a god given talent to narrate a story line filled with twists and turns! You will find yourself loving some characters and hating others. You will personally feel as though you know each of them.

Although there were elements of the story I could live without, all in all it was a great pool side read. I would recommend Silver Tears to those who have read the Golden Cage and enjoyed it as this is a continuation of Faye's story.

Very interesting novel of a woman hiding secrets from an ex-.husband. There were so many twists and turns that she kept you captivated until the last page.. It's an addictive read!

If you're wondering how this author could possibly come close to the awesomeness of The Golden Cage, you should definitely read this. This series blows her other one out of the water. And I really like her other series. This is just on a whole different level.

I love this protagonist, despite the fact that she's kind of a serial killer.

I always struggle to review books that are part of a series. How do I review this properly without giving away spoilers? Is it a spoiler if I talk about the characters that survived to book 2?

I am so disappointed in Lackberg's new series. I had hoped it would get better with this, the second book, but it didn't.

I usually love her books but while the premise was interesting, this continuation of The Golden Cage, was definitely not a must read for me. The main character was not likeable to me and there was too much sex detail. I felt like I was reading erotica, not a suspense novel. Having read the Fjallabacka series and loved it, I can’t say the same for this one.

This is such a "good for her" type of series! I love hoe Faye isn't afraid to do what needs to be done. Does this mean she's slightly unstable? Yes! But they have it coming! These books are also so steamy without being cringe worthy. Book 2 isn't even out yet and I already can't wait for book 3!

Silver Tears is the sequel to Läckberg’s previous novel, The Golden Cage, which I adored. It was clever, twisty, and chock full of the most beautiful and glorious revenge. Everything I loved about it returned in equal measure in this follow-up.

Läckberg is a master storyteller and an absolute queen at writing the level of comeuppance we want served to every dirty, rotten, lowlife bastard that all women have had the luckless pleasure of encountering at some point in their life. This is the quote, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!” brought to life and we’ve got front row seats!

She writes the characters we love, the characters we hate, and more than anything, the characters we love to hate! I am a fan of the fact that she doesn’t shy away from writing characters with realistically deplorable traits.

However, as I am known for my candor and honesty, I have to divulge that some elements of this story didn’t completely pass muster. There were some struggles with logic and synchronicity that I found troubling. Parts of it also felt so unnecessary and pointless. (Such as a mé·nage à trois within the first several pages that is entirely irrelevant to the plot).

Ultimately, the continuation of Faye’s story in Silver Tears is stellar and I highly recommend adding it to your summer reading list. I am certain you will thank me later!

4/5 ✨

Thank you for the advanced copy!

I really liked the Golden Cage and was excited to read this book. Sadly, for me, it did not measure up to the previous work. The author is good at weaving an intricate tale with strong clever female characters. It is enjoyable to see women wielding their power in a male dominated world.

I tend to be weary about a sequel to a book that I enjoyed. While I loved the continued themes of strong, independent women, looking to carve their own paths, I was a little disappointed by the overall plot. The narrations flitted between Faye’s past and present, digging into her abusive childhood, all that I admittedly had to skim because there were several visual triggers that I couldn’t stomach. Even skipping the chapters focused on the past, I understood the gist of her life and her desperation to start fresh. However, when a mysterious man is introduced into her life, my antenna went up. Faye is not a good judge of male character and I knew from the get go that something with this guy was fishy. My detective senses are usually wrong, but for the majority of the story, I was able to anticipate what would happen. It was laid out pretty bare and I missed the surprise twists from THE GOLDEN CAGE.

Another great book by Camilla Lackberg and Knopf Publishing! I loved The Golden Cage, so I was super excited to receive a copy of Silver Tears. This book continued the story of Faye and what happened after Jack was sent to prison. Faye is still thriving, but someone is now trying to take her company, Revenge, from her. Her investors are pulling out and Faye has no idea why. Her priority is keeping her family safe, but when she hears her ex-husband Jack has escaped from prison, she has to do everything she can to protect what’s hers.

Thoughts: You need to read The Golden Cage before you read this one! This is the perfect second book in the series and continues where the first book left off. I love Faye and her strong personality. She is so adventurous and powerful and it makes you want to root for her while reading. This book goes into her childhood and what brought her to where she is today. This book is a quick read and I love Lackberg’s writing style.

Lackberg’s books are more of a mystery than thriller, where you’re wondering where the story will go. This book is about revenge, sisterhood, and the power of women. Faye doesn’t always get a happy ending, but she gets the ending that she wants and has control over. Yes, it was a bit predictable, but it was a fun story to read overall. The characters could have been more dynamic, but if you read The Golden Cage, this is a great follow up. 3.5 stars for this sexy and dark mystery.

This is the 2nd book in the Faye's Revenge series. I really enjoyed that book so I was looking forward to reading this one. However, it was a bit disappointing. Faye didn't seem like the same character and it didn't seem like I was reading the same series.

The twists I saw coming and I spent the entire book being annoyed at Faye. If there is a 3rd book which by this books conclusion Im assuming there will be I probably won't read it.

Thanks to Netgalley for my advanced ebook copy.

A second in this series this book makes you lean forward in your chair while reading, on the edge of your seat the whole time! It leaves you certainly wanting more as this ends with a hell of a a cliffhanger! Faye finally seems to have it all but when her past becomes part of her present she has no choice but to try to deal with it head on, a choice that may cost her everything! This would be a great beach read this summer as it completely engrossed the reader and keep you wanting to turn every page!

I rally used to enjoy Camilla Lackberg’s books however this is the second one that I’ve read in the past year and I found that it was less than engaging. I can’t say that I’d recommend it to anyone. An utter disappointment.

At the helm of a wildly successful cosmetics company, billionaire Swedish businesswoman Faye has more than just corporate secrets to keep covered up — she’s also concealing the fact that her young daughter, who was murdered by her ex-husband, is...still alive! And in hiding! (No big deal, right?) All while Faye is struggling to keep her company safe from increasing threats of a buy-out. So yeah, this book is a RIDE.

Pros: 'Silver Tears' is entertaining and moves quickly, with a charismatic female lead at its center. Camilla Läckberg knows how to ratchet up the drama like no other.

Cons: I had some qualms with the writing/voice overall, but what I was really, *really* disappointed with and taken aback by was the way rape and physical abuse are depicted. Many times it felt like scenes were included for pure shock value rather than treating them with ANY level of care. It took away from the overall story for me in a major way.

Suffice it to say, this book should come with a massive, neon, flashing trigger warning, and anyone who finds those themes difficult to read should proceed with extreme caution.

This book is a continuation of the author's previous novel, The Golden Cage. Faye Adelheim has secured immeasurable wealth and appears to have it all after her ex husband is locked away for killing their daughter. However, Faye's secret is her daughter is still alive and living a hidden life in Italy with Faye's mother. Faye believes she finally has it all. With that power, she becomes careless with her business and personal life. It becomes apparent when it appears someone is trying to take over her company and her ex husband escapes from prison.

Faye is still in hiding following the events from “ The Golden Cage” and the company she launched to empower women “ Revenge” is successful beyond her wildest expectations. She is planning to go public when she learns that someone is buying up shares and she is on the brink of losing control of her own company. Faye is closer to having everything she ever wanted and there is a new man by her side if she can keep her enemies and the policewoman who keeps showing up on her doorstep at bay. When she learns that the ex- husband she helped imprison has escaped along with her father who has his own reasons for seeking revenge, Faye enlists help from the women who she has every reason to hate.
This is a book in which you definitely should read the previous one called “ The Golden Cage” first.
I really loved the first book but this one while enjoyable is missing something. I think the sex scenes were unnecessary and did not really add to the story. I understand the authors intentions- a woman can satisfy her appetites and have it all as easily as a man but it did not work for me.
There will definitely be a third book and I look forward to it! This is fast paced and while Fayes’ “ do whatever it takes” methods are questionable, she is the anti- heroine you cannot help but root for.

When we last saw Faye Adelheim, at the conclusion of The Golden Cage, she had triumphed over the husband who had taken over the cosmetics company she founded and now is the immensely wealthy chief of the global powerhouse she's built it into. Her ex-husband is in jail for killing their daughter and only she and her mother know that little Juliette is, in fact, alive, thriving and in hiding This takes up where that ended; while it's not necessary to read the previous book, it's as engaging and propulsive as this one is, with the same themes of revenge, betrayal, lust, and money.
