This book was not for me at all. I didn't realize that this was the second book in a series, and while I felt as though there were some glimpses of what happened in the first book, it didn't feel like enough to make me feel connected.

I also have to admit, I didn't think the writing was well done at all. I'm not sure if something is lost in translation, but this was a hard one for me to finish.

My first book by Camilla Lackberg, but will definitely not be my last! Loved this book, loved the characters, loved the twists and turns and kept reading page after page. Highly recommend!

Now I have to read the Golden Cage! I really enjoyed this book even though I read it out of order. Very fast paced and compelling story that drew me in. Warning, there is some very disturbing content, as well as some pretty spicy sex scenes. I will be reading all of Camilla Lackberg's books.

This is a brilliantly written story that will have you cheering for the protagonist Faye all the way until the end. Faye's husband, Jack, is in prison for killing their small daughter, Julienne, however, Julienne is still alive and living hidden away in Italy with Faye's mother. Faye's life has been full of evil people starting with her father and brother, but Faye is determined to rid her life of all the bad people in it. Currently, her company, Revenge, is under siege as an investor is slowly buying up shares of it to become the majority stakeholder. Faye puts together a team of the smartest women she feels she can trust and goes in for the attack to get her company back.

Silver Tears is a story about fighting for good. The book is filled with sneaky characters and it's hard to tell who Faye can or can't trust. I read this book in a little more than a day; it was so good. Excellent for fans of suspenseful thrillers.

Thank you to Netgalley, Camilla Läckberg, and Knopf Doubleday for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Adult Suspense fiction. Faye appears to be one of those successful and savvy business women that others envy. But readers soon find out she just escaped a nasty marriage and has just discovered her company may be in trouble. But she can leave these worries behind... especially now that she's met David, who inspires her to reach for their new and happy future together. Slow to start but interesting mix of past, dark events intermixed with real-time clashes. Decent read.

This just wasn't plausible for me. Thanks to NetGally for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is an intriguing book that toes the line between suspense, mystery, and thriller. I loved Faye's confidence and how her backstory built. One con for me was that I didn't realize this was a series, so jumping right into Book 2 may not have been the best choice. However I did feel as though it summarized the content of Book 1 well enough that I wasn't too confused. Fair warning - there's a fair amount of sex and sexual content in this as well as a number of trigger warnings (including but not limited to rape, abuse, and suicide).

Thank you to Simon & Schuster for allowing me to read the electronic ARC copy of this book!
This is the second book in the Faye Adelheim trilogy, translated to English finally! In Silver Tears the reader gets to experience more of Faye's past life in Fallbjacka. She has made her company a powerhouse, but there are people wanting to punish her for getting revenge on her ex-husband, and other reasons. The cliffhangers weren't as good in this as compared to the Golden Cage, but I still enjoyed reading it and figuring out whodunnit.

While this book was enjoyable, I am not sure it was exactly the right fit for me. It often skewed a little too dark for my taste (and I will include some TW below for that!) and often I found it a little hard to follow. That said, if you love a dark and twisty thriller I would recommend this. I was not aware this was the second in a series, but it was easy enough to follow as a stand-alone.

TW: suicide, sexual assault, child abuse

This book is pure Revenge. The follow up to Camilla Lackberg's the Golden Gage is Silver Tears, as we follow Faye Adelheim after the fall of her husband Jack and her triumph in her global brand Revenge. She is still holding so many secrets however, trying to keep her daughter and her mother safe and protect her company that she worked so hard to build by someone else who is seeking revenge. Along the way we get hints of Faye's past, the life that she had before meeting her now jailed husband, and why she will protect herself and anyone that she loves. I found myself more interested in the past tense story than the present which seemed to take some time to take off but overall the novel kept me interested and entertained enough to keep going. Overall, however I found it hard to root for our main character, finding her unlikeable and difficult to sympathize with. If there is another book in this series that should follow I might have to flip a coin to continue.

A thank you to NetGalley and Knopf Doubleday Publishing!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
Loved this sequel to The Golden Cage. A story of revenge and bonding with people you never thought you would have anything in common with. LOVE IT!!!! There were some parts that were disturbing.
I found it very hard to put this book down! Highly recommend!!

Considering this book was written by Camilla Lackberg, I didn't even read the description on the book when the publisher provided me with the link (thank you!). Camilla Lackberg is a GENIUS and I will read any genre that she writes and know that it will be fabulous.

Silver Tears does not disappoint! I didn't even realize it was the sequel to The Gilded Cage, but now that this is fresh in my mind I will probably go back and reread it.

WOW. I love a powerful and vengeful woman, and Faye definitely encompasses it. So many parts of this book kept me at the edge of my seat. The intrigue, the plotting, the business, the sex, everything was just a delicious rollercoaster.

Please never stop writing! I'd read a textbook word for word if you wrote it, Ms. Lackberg!

I didn't realize at first that this was the second book in a series. But - I am glad that I was able to still easily follow the story and know what was going on.

The first half of the story was slow but man, all the action popped off in the second half! I had a hard time putting the book down.

I will definitely be waiting for #3.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

For some reason, I didn't realize that this was the second book in a series. I absolutely loved book one, The Golden Cage, and when I started reading this book and recognized the characters and storyline, I was so excited! I love the theme of revenge in the book/series. This is perfect for someone who wants a book filled with revenge, mystery/thriller elements, girl power, and some sexy moments! The only part of the book I could see being an issue is the translation. I know this is an arc, and things most likely will change, but I felt a lot of things didn't translate well. But I love the author and the series, so I just ignored those moments when they occurred! I would still recommend this book 100%. Thank you, NetGalley!

I don’t know what it was about Silver Tears that prompted me to pick it up: this is not ordinarily my sort of thing and I may not be the best judge of its merits. I suppose I thought this would be a mindless thriller (and it is kind of that), but I also didn’t realise that it’s the second book of a series; and although author Camilla Läckberg does a good job of unobtrusively catching the reader up with the events of the previous book (The Golden Cage), this may be more thrilling, and the flashback scenes might be more earth-shattering, for those readers who started the series from the beginning. As for me: I didn’t love the writing (and although I lost patience with the plot, I did keep reading to see how it would end) and I didn’t love the overall philosophy (that men are animals and women are therefore justified in doing whatever it takes to make their way in the world). This was just okay, and even though Silver Tears ends on a cliffhanger, I can’t imagine picking up the next in the series.

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the prequel- Gold Cage, it wasn't some literary master piece , but it was fast, addictive and very very sexy.
When I saw there was a sequel for what happens next, I immediately requested for it.

This book dives into the past of Faye, her childhood, and it was very dark, some part, I almost couldn't bare reading. Then it alternate betwen the past and present- Jack escapes from jail , ( remember how Faye framed him for murder of their daughter? ), someone else wants to take over Revenge, plus a lot more.

If you are willing to overlook how much the characters fit into stereotypes and what simpletons they are, and just accept the story with all the flaws, and unrealistic plot, it's still a juicy, fun, read.

"Silver Tears", is a page turner. It is a sequel to, "The Golden Cage", which was published in 2020, and is a great follow up. It does stand up on its own though, if you haven't read the first book. There is intrigue, corporate espionage, romantic involvement, titillating sex scenes, and murder galore. In other words, "Silver Tears", has something for everyone. I highly recommend this book.

“Is there a law in this universe that says everything has to go to hell at once?”
Maybe.....
in this story! 😉

Step into the world of the ultra wealthy beautiful, sexy people....
a billionaire finance company, with their splendid mansions at the tip of private beaches, expensive wines, VIP lounges, travel, personal trainers, fancy cars, boats, gorgeous bodies, fancy parties, successful unfaithful men, hunger for money, power, and women....
secrets, betrayal, hefty obstacles, competition between companies, naivety, hypocrisy, murder conviction, prisoner transport escapee..... and a mystery murder trickery tale...
who’s falsifying who?

Faye Bergendahl had the misfortune of being born in the wrong family. A family that was broken from the beginning.
It was up to her to break free.
She does.
Her cosmetic company, Revenge, gave her the title of “Businesswomen of the Year”.

Faye had observed life closely as a child growing up. She grew up in a horrific household.... an abusive father, a brother no better, secrets, rape, and a sweet frail fearful mother.

“There were happy people everywhere. In the papers, on TV, on the radio. I saw their faces, heard their laughter, their stories. The novels I read were filled with them. Some of our neighbors in Fjallbacka seemed happy, even though they live next door to hell. Our darkness didn’t seem to spill over the garden boundaries. But who knew? I only saw the outside. Just like they only saw us from the outside, through their kitchen windows are the same all chats across the hedge about the lawn”.

There are four parts to this story — it picks up momentum where “The Golden Cage” left off.....
with present day troubles and past family history troubles...
Puzzling mystery throughout.

I enjoy spending time with Camilla Läckberg. She has a unique style. I like not knowing what to expect.
Entering her mind-escaping world — so different than my own — is psychologically interesting... a little sexy and playful...
but also with authentic heart.

You know you enjoy an authors work - when you still want to read more of what’s she’s written. (which I do).
I still want to read her “Ice Princess” series.

Thank you Knopf Doubleday Publishing, Netgalley, and Camilla Läckberg,

I was disappointed in this book, despite the fact that I loved “The Golden Cage” which is the prequel. It’s hard to recommend this since it’s not a stand-alone. I also felt uncomfortable with the early injection of kinky sex.

It seemed entirely predictable from the moment I opened the book. It’s hard to recommend this except to people who read the earlier book.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book.
