This is a fun (and by fun I mean both entertaining and somewhat disturbing) read, but you have to suspend your concept of reality (and by reality I mean your idea of basic human psychology) more than I'm comfortable with outside of a fantasy setting.

Another home run for Camilla! I’m a huge fan, and constantly talk up her books, and this was another exciting triumph! Bring on the next one.

Read this book in two sittings. Hard to put down. Story moves fast. The protagonist, however, Faye, calls for a suspension of belief. She is so many things: heart of gold, serial killer, hugely successful businesswoman, sex addict, doting mother, absentee mother, savior of her mother, and magnet for smart people. I never could decide if I liked her or not. Nevertheless, , her adventures were great fun. I would never miss a book by this author.

This is the second book that I have read from this author and I once again found myself really resonating and appreciating the overall writing style. In this book, Faye is a high-powered executive attempting to expand her business, yet she has many dark corners from her past that threaten to darken her door. This book has an erotic tone to it in many parts, but this gracefully tied into the character and her past. I found this book to be thrilling and suspenseful, although I felt that the love interest scenario was kind of played out and made the main character seem a little dim. Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley.

A special thankss to Knopf Doubleday Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC for this much anticipated book.I

I am going to give this book 5 stars without reading it but there will be a review to follow. I loved The Golden Cage sooooo much by Camiila Lackberg that I know this book is going to be just as good as her last and a page turner.

Look for this book July friends and if you've read The Golden Cage, you will know that you will not be let down.

This book is about 3 generations of females who were capable and smarter than the men who set out to destroy them. The lead female Faye's ex- husband is behind bars for the remainder of his life for killing their daughter Juliette. But Faye is a very rich beauty conglomerate and nobody knows her daughter is still alive; not the police. not the media, or the lovers Faye brings to her bed. But secrets and lies have a way of backfiring with betrayals, pillow talk, and the like. Also Faye's mother who was murdered by her father is also unbelievably alive! These are tricky omen, but I bet the men they were married to were monsters. Sorry fellas! I'm not a feminist per se, but I am rooting for them!

Review to come!

Wow, Camilla is very kinky after her other books. I read this one straight through till I finished. Now , what do you want to know. I can't be a spoiler, the book is too fun to read. Let's just say I'd like to meet Faye sometime. I know it's impossible but, wow.

I read The Golden Cage, so I was excited to see the next book available. However, I didn't really enjoy it. Boring yet graphic at the same time. It felt like a novel from the 80s. ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

Yeah! Our dear Faye finally finds the way to escape from her golden cage and made her husband dearest Jack pay for his ugly mistakes, put him behind bars for killing their own child!

Don’t worry her dear child and her mother are safe, residing in a villa at Italy, living under radars as Faye builds her company, globalize her brands, flirting with hot bartenders half her age, pilots, having threesomes! See, she finally has a dreamy life! She’s back and now she’s wiser and stronger! She may have found a new love interest: an angel investor David Schiller becomes her confidante who is dealing with a challenging divorce from his extremely obsessive wife!

But when you have too much, you also have more risks to lose ! Now somebody sneakily starts to buy the shares of her company Revenge! Faye has no intention to lose the company she’d built from scratch and she already gave her word to her recently passed away friend Chris, she’ll never let people take away what she’s worked for years! She’s not gonna be doormat again as like her husband Jack made her feel!

Now dear old friend detective reopens the investigation and insists she was at the crime scene. She thinks she may have involved with her daughter’s death ( who is much alive right now)

As Faye thinks she can deal with her company problems and detective, another bomb falls on her lap! Her husband dearest Jack ran from prison vehicle and he’s adamant to get his revenge! Yes, Faye, the big confrontation is coming now! Only one of you will stay alive! The question is which one of them will make it?

The first half of the book was a little bit slow for me! I enjoyed to see the snippets of Faye’s new glorious life! I loved to see her strong, carefree, bitchy attitudes around pretentious, privileged societal of Sweden.

But I missed the first book’s intriguing, shocking pacing. Thankfully as soon as Jack escapes from prison, tension is finally increased and the author literally hit the gas so hard ! The whirlwind pacing of the story, shocking revelations, ponzi schemes, mind games, action packed surprising twists start to mesmerize us! The author brought her entire writing magic back!

And we also learn so much shocking secrets about Faye’s childhood time: most of them were so harsh, blunt, dark to absorb! But now we put the pieces together and got the entire picture! We can fully understand the real motives and psychological explanations of Faye’s past choices and victimization.

I lowered one star because of slow beginning but especially the second half of the book was stunning, mind blowing! Especially the encounter of Jack and Faye! If you liked the first book, you shouldn’t miss this one!

Special thanks to NetGalley and Knopf Doubleday Publishing for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.
