The book is 3 romances written by 3 different authors in the same cute town of Moonbright Maine. Although written by 3 different authors they are similar in writing style and pace. It was an easy read with all the fall feels everyone loves: pumpkin spice, pastries, festivities, cold weather and candy. Each story has a woman finding her true love through the magic of the Moonbright Halloween lore. Although each story is unique and complete they do reference each other. These were a fun, enjoyable read for me which elicited all the good love emotions and tingles you’d expect from a good romance. Thank you Marina Adair, Kate Angell and Stacy Finz for writing these adorable stories and for Kensington Publishing for allowing me to read and review it.

I was drawn to The Cafe Between Pumpkin and Pie because I love books about food, and I especially love pumpkin flavored foods and drinks that show up every fall. I’ve read many cozy mysteries set in small towns, and I assumed it would remind me of those. I was wrong.

The Cafe Between Pumpkin and Pie is a set of three connected novellas all set in around the annual Halloween Parade in Moonbright, Maine. It is the third in a series about Moonbright, Maine. There is a legend in the town that women will see the person they will marry in a reflection on Halloween. Each novella is connected and the central characters in each show up in the others.

In “Love Over Easy,” Hannah, who works at the town diner, falls for Jake, who her older sister had a relationship with in high school. “Love Rising” is about Sydney, a successful baker from San Francisco, who returns to Moonbright to handle her grandmother’s affairs after her passing. Sydney learns that her grandmother had hired a contractor, Nick, to upgrade her kitchen, and she ends up romantically involved with him. In “Romance on Tap,” Mila, an artist ends up revisiting a high school crush.

The premise of the Halloween reveal of a woman’s future spouse struck me as misogynistic and heteronormative. It makes it seem like there is larger than necessary focus on finding husbands for the women in the town, and there never is any consideration that any of the women would many someone who is not a man. Hannah gets very upset when she thinks the man she sees in the reflection is not the person she hopes it will be (of course, she could still be with the person she wants to date…)

This overtone permeates the rest of the stories as well. One man in Romance on Tap, the third of the shorts, tells his brother to give back his “man card” when he says something that might be coded as feminine. In the same novella, Hudson pretends to be his twin so he can kiss, Mila, the girl (and then woman) he likes, twice! Moments like this frustrated me and made it hard for me to like any of the male characters in the stories.

It might be because “Love Over Easy”, “Love Rising”, and “Romance on Tap” are all shorter than an average novel, but the romance in each felt very rushed. I didn’t feel as though I had the time to get invested in any of the relationships before the stories ended and the couples were living their “happily ever afters.” It was hard to believe, for example, that Nick would fly all the way to San Francisco from Maine to help Sydney because their romance isn’t developed enough.

I really wanted to like The Café Between Pumpkin and Pie, but I had a hard time getting into any of the stories. It didn’t fill me with the warm and cozy feelings I was hoping it would.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. This book has three short romance stories that take place in Maine. Three single women each meet their prince charming around Halloween. This book was a quick read and quite enjoyable.

I received an advance copy of, The Cafe between Pumpkin and Pie, by Marina Adair, Kate Angell, and Stacy Finz. I liked the three stories in this book. I love fall and pumpkins and pie, and the sweet fragrant smells. They are 3 sweet love stories.

A great collection of book that mesh well between the three authors. Moonbright, Maine is THE place for Halloween. All of the stories take place in the same place at the same time. These stories had me wishing I could move there and enjoy all of the small town joy that exudes from it's streets. I want sweets that only Bellaluna can provide. Have Chip fix things around my house. Have a dinner that Caleb cooked. and stop by Town Hall and trade wits with Edna.

The Cafe Between Pumpkin and Pie is the third contemporary romance anthology set in Moonbright, Maine. Each anthology is set around Halloween, which is the small town's big celebration that draws tourists from miles. It's also when a woman can repeat a simple chant and see a reflection of her true love at midnight. All of the oldtimers in Moonbright swear that it's true.

Despite this being the third collection, you don't need to have read the first two to enjoy this one. Dive right in and enjoy!

All of the stories feature autumn goodness and baking. The Cafe Between Pumpkin and Pie is a PSL in book form with a triple shot of HEA. Enjoy the sweet, cozy vibe in this sweetly, sometimes steamy, read.

When I heard Kate Angell had a new book out, I immediately requested and received an Advanced Reader Copy. The opinions expressed are entirely my own.
The Café Between Pumpkin and Pie is the third book of shorts in the Moonbright series, and it is as wonderful as the first two. Autumn in Maine brings out the warm fuzzies in me, so these sweet and spicy tales are like candy. "Love Over Easy" features my favorite couple , Hannah and Jake. " The most magically romantic legend of all promises that a Moonbright woman will marry the man she sees reflected in a mirror on Halloween." Set during a Halloween parade, the stories satisfy my itch for romance, angst, and legends. Stacy Finz, "Love Rising", features Sydney and Nick with held over angst from high school. I enjoyed their story that ranges from Halloween to Thanksgiving. Marina Adair, "Romance on Tap", features Mila and twins, Hudson & Ford.
As a child, I loved Moon Pies for summer treats---so I cannot wait to make the yummy Whoopie pies from the included recipes.
Thank you NetGalley and Kate Angell for an ARC of this terrific book.

This second set of stories was wonderful. Should have read the first but didn't. Each one was well told and I didn't want them to end.

I think I’ve gained weight since I’ve been visiting Moonbright… I loved this anthology and how we get to read different authors couples’ stories. It’s sort of a bird’s eye view of Moonbright, along with a Halloween legend about finding your true “one”. I really loved Hannah and Jake. Both of them are just a wee bit broken and find their hearts when they spend time together. Jake is such a sweetie, at least to me. He seems like he’s never felt…enough but he’s just what Hannah needs and wants. And I could actually feel the energy coming off the triplets… So cute! Sydney and Nick are both stubborn, imho. Their relationship, if you can call it that, starts out contentious but reading how it changed and grew was pretty special. I had a harder time liking Mila and Ford and Hudson (the men are twins). There was more angst than I enjoy but I did like Hudson! Great anthology about another visit to Moonbright, Maine!

Sweet and utterly charming. A recommended purchase for collections where contemporary romances are popular.

THE CAFE BETWEEN PUMPKIN AND PIE

🌟🌟🌟

This was a compilation of three short stories. They were fun, cute romances, very easy to read and enjoy.

This book was quite interesting. It had three mini stories in this one book all based around the cafe between pumpkin and pie street. Very cute stories as each story was written by a different author. These mini stories were all romance but since they were only about 9 chapters each, they were quite quick and felt a little rushed. These stories all took place around the same time of the year and that is how they connected. Some characters did pop up in other stories as well. Overall, very cute book and would recommend to a friend.

A delightful book which has 3 stories written by 3 different authors all set in Moonbright, ME. All stories are based on a romantic legend about Moonbright women seeing a reflection of the man they will marry. I enjoyed all the stories.

I was skeptical at first when I started this book and realized that it was three short stories in one. I typically avoid short stories because they always seem to leave me unsatisfied, however I was pleasantly wrong this time.

𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙲𝚊𝚏é 𝙱𝚎𝚝𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝙿𝚞𝚖𝚙𝚔𝚒𝚗 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙿𝚒𝚎 was the perfect little trio of romance stories set in the quaint little town of Moonlight, Maine to kick off the countdown to the coziest time of year.

Kate Angell, Marina Adair, and Stacy Finz blend effortlessly to create the perfect fall romance every soft hearted reader looks to escape with. The stories center around an old Halloween folk legend teetering between Cinderella and Practical Magic.

While I desperately want a full novel for each of the three stories, my heart was pleasantly warmed after swooning over these 3 heart-tugging stories. The little surprise tucked away at the end of the book made this journey all the more delicious!

I received this book for an honest review from netgalley #netgalley

I have been wanting to read this book for quite a while and it definitely did not disappoint. The fall setting really added so much to the plot and the characters.

Wow I’m definitely hooked on moonbright! This really is a feel good book you won’t want to put down. Three different love stories all linked to one place. My only complaint is the stories finished and I wanted more! Loved that this book incorporated three authors yet the stories fit together so well.

I thought I loved Hannah and Jake the best and was a bit stubborn to get to know Syd and Nick but they won me over too. Took me longer to get into Mila and those twins but again I ended up hooked! These characters really come alive, and you inadvertently start imagining moonbright and the different places. The humour is also very much there with me having random moments of laughter.

Reading this has definitely sent me on the hunt to read more of these books. If you like chic lit, that is feel good then this is the book for you.

A Halloween legend in a small Maine town. What's not to love? This isn't my typical genre to read, but I was drawn into the characters right away. I enjoyed how each of the three stories were written by a different author, but they all had minute details of Moonbright the same. This is a feel good, love exists read. Thank you to Netgalley and Kate Angell, Marina Adair, Stacy Finz for the opportunity to read this ARC.

YES! I didn't even know there was going to be a third book in the Moonbright series, but boy am I glad there is. It was so great to be back at this magical town again, to see some familiar characters and places, and to fall in love with new characters. It was nice to have Thanksgiving more incorporated and not just Halloween. Also... I'm dying for Nan's whoopie pie now! Dear author(s), please let this not be the last book in Moonbright!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an eARC, in return for a honest review.

This collection of three novellas each centered around the small town of Moonbright, Maine, is the perfect cozy light read for the autumn this year. The three women featured in the stories each have a connection with the cafe of the title as well as other related food-centered businesses in Moonbright, and the same town characters appear in each novella. Because of the shorter form, the relationships in the stories aren't as believably developed as they might be in a full novel, but they are suitably romantic and gently humorous. Each woman has issues to overcome to find her best self, her real vocation, and her true love interest. For anyone looking to while away a fall day with a Hallmark movie in a book, this charming collection should appeal.

Moonbright sounds like a wonderful little town. This book takes place during the fall and Halloween. Each story has just the right amount of romance and all leave you wanting more.
I enjoyed the book
