The art is a little simplistic, but there's some silly moments with rhyming lines that's sure to keep kids engaged

This is a very sweet story and was well written with excellent illustrations! Great inclusion of motivation and perseverance. One wording choice on page 7 that I am not quite sure if it was a missed typo or not but it seemed a bit out of place. The word rocket was used where I think it was maybe meant to say rock at.

I love this book! It is such a sweet story and I love Polly Pivots journey in golf with her grandfather! When I was a little girl I didn’t see much representation of women in gold and I wish there was a book around like this for a little me to be able to read and enjoy. Polly is a great character and I definitely recommend this book!

What a wonderful inspiring story to share with any age really. Kids will relate to Polly Pivot as she evolves into a unique, aspiring golfer, her mantra being... One, two, follow through....

Polly Pivot models for kids that growing and learning along life's journey is not only fun but profitable if you hang in and follow your way through. The author shares this wonderful life lesson through her love of the game of golf. Her goal is to encourage kids to not get discouraged and quit but follow through in their daily lives in order to become the very best they can be.

I love the diverse characters, the theme of perseverance and the celebration of who you are created to be. The illustrations are full of emotion, activity, humour and extremely kid-friendly. I love them. The message is positive and uplifting and Polly Pivot is an excellent example for both young and old to emulate. I highly recommend this book.

I liked this book. The illustrations are interesting, and kind of silly. I like that there are different ethnicities and abilities represented.
We start the story when the main character is still in diapers and pushing a ball with a broom. She learns how to play from her grandpa, she develops her own swing, and then goes to golf camp. There she is told to swing differently and struggles with it to the point that golf is starting to not feel fun. After reading some books and seeing that athletes do best when they follow through with their swings and kicks, she decides to keep doing what she does! Eventually everyone at the camp celebrates how she swings....including the coach!
At the end there are some tips on following through with your golf swing. I thought that was a nice thing to include.
This is a sweet book for children who are interested in golf!

One, Two, Follow Through!: Starring Polly Pivot
by Mary Jacobs
Polly Pivot learned how to play golf from her grandfather. She loved the sport. Until she went to camp. The camp councilor was mean, and confusing. She had to learn to love the sport and how to take some of the suggestions not all of them. She learned how to practice and become better. Great book showing how to handle anxiety, and self expression.

An adorable book about learning to follow through in golf and in life. Golf and non golf families will find this book to be a treasure. I married into to a golf family, but don't play myself and really loved how vibrant and sweet this story was.
