I love Evan and Josie! They are a picture perfect couple! I have read everything by RC Ryan and this is another example of why I like this author.

Meant to be My Cowboy is the final story in the Wranglers of Wyoming and a very good way to wrap it all up in a satisfying conclusion.

Annie is on the run and the best place that she can think of to disappear for a while is her uncle’s hometown. There she can escape on long hikes in the wilderness, hopefully, blend in with the locals of this small town, and stay far away from her ex who is a nasty piece of work, a thief, and a man who has no problem letting her take the fall for something she didn’t do… and when she escapes his trap has no intentions of letting her survive to bring him down.

Jonah and Annie meet on one of those hikes when she believes she’s on public land but is really on Jonah’s. A casual friendship begins over their hikes with only first names exchanged. Neither would have expected to be enjoying the company of a member of the enemy’s family… but soon that fact, and Annie’s safety will come into play. When Jonah learns that she is in danger his reaction is to protect her by bringing her to the family ranch… and finally, her connection with the man Jonah’s family has been in a feud with forever it seems is revealed. Yet, both are beginning to have feelings for each other and suddenly that feud doesn’t seem quite so important to Jonah any more.

I enjoyed Meant to be My Cowboy, it wrapped up all the loose ends, gave me a couple to enjoy, lots of action, some steam, seeing the bad guy get exactly what he deserved, and hope for the future of not only this couple but all the people we’ve met in the Wranglers of Wyoming series. Even though this series has been out for a bit now, it will be brand new to some readers and for them I’d say – if you love a good, solid story with hints of danger, sizzling chemistry, a puzzle to solve, and people to enjoy getting to know then this story, this series is one you’ll want to pick up soon.

Who doesn't want to be a cowboy. This was a good book and enjoyed it all so much. Must read for all to enjoy.

Meant to Be My Cowboy is the third book in the Wranglers of Wyoming series and is a fitting conclusion to the story. I highly recommend reading the rest of the series before reading this one - they each build upon each other and provide so much depth to the Merrick family and the reason for all their actions.

This book focuses on Jonah Merrick, acclaimed author and youngest brother. He meets Annie Dempsey (yes, related that Dempsey that they hate) and just like with the other women in the Merrick family, she has some baggage. In this case, she has been accused of massive bank fraud and is trying to hide out, but being pursued by some really bad people.

As with the other books in the series, the standouts are the Merrick family particularly Ham, Ms Meg, Bo and all the brothers. They stand together no matter what and are the picture of family.

Bonus- couple of happily ever afters in this one!

Suspenseful, appealing, and sweet!

Meant to Be My Cowboy is a warm, lighthearted tale that takes you back to Devil’s Door, Wyoming, and into the lives of Annie Dempsey, a young woman on the run from her dangerous ex who isn’t content to just let her flee with all his secrets, and the reliable, attentive, Jonah Merrick who’s willing to do whatever it takes to protect this newcomer who has stolen his heart even if she is a member of the detested Dempsey family.

The prose is crisp and tight. The characters are intriguing, multilayered, and persistent. And the plot is an enticing mix of family, friendship, danger, drama, instant attraction, sizzling chemistry, smouldering tension, and delicious heat.

Overall, Meant to Be My Cowboy is a passionate, sinister, entertaining tale by Ryan that has all the elements you look for in a western, romantic suspense novel, and even though it’s the third book in the Wranglers of Wyoming series, it is more than enjoyable as a standalone novel.

I enjoyed this romance story with the two main characters that were Annie Dempsey and Jonah Merrick. And also the rest of the characters too.

Annie Dempsey has came to Devil's Door Wyoming to get away from her ex- boyfriend. She has decided to start a new life and not try to get into another relationship with anyone. But when she meets a cowboy at his cabin while walking in the woods thing may change.

Jonah Merrick is a writer and a cowboy. He and his family own a farm that is near the town of Devil's Door that's in Wyoming. He also has a cabin in the woods close by the family's farm that he uses for an place to do his writing at. When a woman that is hiking comes upon the cabin one day he is surprised to she her again. He find out later that she is in trouble and is in need of help.

This was a fun story with the suspense and full of action throughout the story. I thought it was nice and sweet that they help her through her troubles even knowing that things happened between her uncle and Jonah father.

I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley and the author. This is my honest unbiased opinion.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I have not read the previous books about Jonah's brothers and their story but it is not necessary to enjoy this book. During reading the book, their meeting and romance is mentioned so you get a bit of their background. I also liked that Aunt LIz got a resolution to her past and was able to finally move forward!

Lots of action and boy does wandering around the Teton area sound great! It was great to see the entire Merrick family rally around Annie and support her even though she was a dreaded "Dempsey!"

I really like it when everything is wrapped up and you understand the whole plot against Annie and there is a resolution. Sometimes, I have read books were I am not entirely sure if what I concluded was correct so I appreciate it when it is there for me lined up in black and white!

This cowboy romance was a little too dramatic and suspenseful for me. I ended up skipping quite a few parts. I enjoyed the hero and heroine's relationship and romance progression though, as well as the small town setting.

Very good story! This is the third in the series but I think it's enjoyed on it's own as well. Annie and Jonah's chemistry was great and the story was enjoyable.

This is the third book about the Merrick boys and I love them all. This book revolves around Jonah, the youngest brother who also doubles as a best selling mystery author. On her first day in town, Annie meets Jonah as she is picking up dinner at the local bar. A few days later she runs into him again so it starts to seem like fate has brought them together. Until they each learn the other’s last name and realize they are now part of the Merrick - Dempsey fued. But as soon as they decide they can put the fued behind them, the person that Annie was running away from finds her and she realizes she needs protection from now only the entire Merrick family, but the local police, the state police and the FBI. Can Jonah save the day and get his happily ever after?

This was a good story and I loved reading about the other Merricks. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

Love love love Jonah. He is a hard working, down to earth cowboy who happens to be an amazing writer as well. He doesn’t let fame get to his head and tries to hide from that side of life so he can have the life he loves-ranching. Each one of his brothers is just as down to earth and talented in different ways. This is a tight knit family and are there for each other no matter what. So when Jonah brings home someone who is the niece of someone they perceive as wronging them and have a grudge against, they set that aside and help. I find that to be awesome.

Annie is in trouble and comes to town to hide. Only she doesn’t quite know the rules of hiding well and she also meets Jonah. Jonah who takes her breath away like she does for him. Jonah who is the sweetest most down to earth guy and a great listener. Jonah who doesn’t judge and wants to set aside grudges of families where she at first runs.

The attraction between these two is palpable and just bleeds through the pages. I love how it isn’t the physical attraction that pulls them together but the friendship they have forged before knowing their respective last names that draws them to want to stay together. The friendship created on walks and seeing mustangs. When Jonah finds out she is in trouble boy does that protective side come out and it has your heart racing for this sexy cowboy.

Watching him and his family be there for her is wonderful but seeing their relationship grow and become something more and special is beautiful. We see Jonah find who he is meant to be with and because of this a family grudge is able to come out in the open and get resolved as well. The story is fun and sweet, has some drama and suspense that keeps you on your seat edge and rooting for these two to get their chance at happy ever after.

A wonderfully written story on family, friends, love and happiness.

Meant to be My Cowboy is book 3 in the Wranglers in Wyoming by RC Ryan and next up is Jonah the youngest Merrick.

Jonah Merrick is a best selling author but splits his time working on the family ranch pitching in where needed and writing his next book. While at the cabin he built high in the hills and working on his new book he meets a hiker named Annie Dempsey. Unbeknownst to either they don’t divulge their names (for part of the book) and when her past comes calling he discovers who she is but he doesn’t care and will do whatever is needed to keep her safe…

Suspense, secrets, sworn enemies, misunderstandings, romance and lots more happening…keep reading to find out all…

Book 3 0f 3 and what a story - starts out in a bar and Jonah is trying to be on the down low - well when Annie hits the door, all bets are off and away they go on the rough road to their HEA - thoroughly enjoyed this story!!

Small towns have long memories, especially when it comes to family feuds. Devil's Door has the Merricks and the Dempseys. Having family in Devil's Door, Annie Dempsey has come to Devil's Door to recover fleeing a bad break up. Unfortunately, the remnants of that break up have followed her. Annie now finds herself in trouble of another kind. When she's threatened by the ex she finds help from an unlikely protector.

Strangers stick out in a small town, Jonah first notices her when she walks uncomfortably into the town hang out. He's surprised to find her hiking outside his cabin the next day, Rather than run her off Merrick land, he joins her. As they start to spend time together, they find they have much in common and greatly enjoy each other's company, until they find each other's last name. Though he knows he should keep his distance, Jonah Merrick refuses to turn his back on a woman in trouble - even if her last name is Dempsey..

Having read and enjoyed the first two Merrick brother's books I was eager to get into Jonah's story and it certainly didn't disappoint. I like the fact Annie and Jonah got to know each other and feel comfortable with each other before they discovered just who the other was. Their budding relationship, even interrupted as it was, gave credence to Annie's quick acceptance of the help Jonah and his family were offering. It also reinforces what we know about the family and their values from the previous books. If you haven't read this series yet I suggest grabbing all three and reading them in quick succession. It will be time well spent.

A sweet, sweet end…

I’ve loved the Merricks since the very first story in this series. A cowboy family with deep roots to their home and in the land that provided for them. Each character had their own story and going into this last instalment there were a number of unanswered questions… Liz, Bo, Jonah – the Dempsey family – I needed to know!!! And now I (delightfully) do…

The Dempsey/Merrick feud had been fueled years ago and never faltered. Each felt the other had betrayed them, and some missteps turned deadly. How could they reconcile? Could they? Annie and Jonah’s romance felt like it was going to happen under the shade of a McCoy/Hatfield theme yet the Merrick family once again stepped up. They put their own feelings aside and supported Jonah, wherever that took him. No wonder they found a place in my heart long ago!

Jonah was so many things – cowboy, son, brother - with a second career all his own. His family had always been there for him and he was grateful they looked at Annie through his eyes… Annie was hiding but she was still strong, even if she was also grateful for the unwavering support of the Merricks. Especially Jonah. Even when things turned from bad to worse…

This last of the series warmed my heart through and through – I can’t wait for more stories from this author!

This book was given to me by NetGalley for a review.
Annie Dempsey has moved to Devil's Door. Her uncle has hired her at the bank and she's living above the beauty salon.
Jonah Merrick is out with his brothers at Nonie's and sees her come in to get and order. He is instantly smitten.
There is a long running feud with Annie's Uncle and the Merrick family. When Jonah and Annie meet again they don't exchange last names. The spends a few hikes and trail rides and Annie discovers Jonah's book on the shelf in his cabin. We she asked is he is a Merrick and she tells him she is a Dempsey she leaves and doesn't want to see him again.
Jonah decides to go to see her and there is a man inside her apartment threating her. Seems she was hiding out in Devil's Door. She tells Jonah about her problems and he takes back to the ranch to hide out until she can talk to the sheriff. As they spend more time together they realize they are very interested in a relationship together.
The sheriff informs Annie she is considered a suspect and not to leave town. So, we have some suspense and of course romance ensues.

Beautifully romantic return to Devil's Door

I fell in love with the entire Merrick family in the first book and have loved every heartwarming romance in this series. This is the story of the third son, Jonah, finding his HEA with the niece of his father's sworn enemy. Tensions are high, chemistry is hotter, and the suspense kept me reading all through the night.

Guaranteed to make you swoon, Jonah is every cowgirl's dream and a best-selling author as well. Annie is in hiding, trying to stay alive and one step ahead of the danger that followed her home. Every scene sizzles with heat and heart, and it was pure joy to watch their romance unfold while reuniting with the rest of the delightful Merrick clan.

There's a secondary romance that's been growing throughout the earlier books and I was thrilled to see it reach its conclusion in this one. Everyone gets a HEA in this story, and I couldn't have loved it more. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Meant to Be My Cowboy is the third novel in R.C. Ryan's Wranglers of Wyoming series, a series I've been following from the outset, and it's a series which has been consistently well-written, sexy, suspenseful and entertaining, and once again I find myself giving this third book in the series a 4-star rating.

Jonah is the youngest Merrick brother, and, in addition to working on the huge Merrick family ranch, he's also a bestselling and elusive mystery writer, preferring ranch work and his privacy to going on book tours, radio or television to promote his books, and his anonymity keeps him in a constant battle with his literary agent.

The Merrick family has been feuding with the nearby Dempsey family for decades, and so when Jonah spots Annie (no last name yet) at the local watering hole one Friday night, he's drawn to her beauty immediately, but he merely looks on as every single cowboy in the place swarms her. The next day, after his ranching chores, he heads for his writing retreat, a cabin in the woods he built himself, when along comes Annie, on foot, who assumes she's hiking on public rather than private land. She's recently relocated to town, and Jonah decides to hike alongside her, and the two become fast friends and hiking buddies.

Unbeknownst to Jonah, Annie is in hiding, and it takes Jonah arriving at her rented apartment over the hair salon in town to discover that she's in danger--and for her own safety, he convinces her to move to his large and heavily populated family ranch, where they soon learn that she's the niece of Des Dempsey, who owns the town bank, and who, along with Jonah's father, have been avoiding each other for years. Annie, like the rest of her family, also went into banking, and when she discovered that the man she'd been seeing had stolen a million dollars from one of her clients and deposited it in a separate bank account under Annie's name, making her the fall gal for his crime, she can't leave San Francisco fast enough. It's an excellent set-up for a novel of romantic suspense.

While the Merrick's use their connections to help clear Annie's name and reputation, she and Jonah move from being mere hiking and horse-riding buddies to something a lot more serious, and yes, there is some steam in this novel, but it's not over the top at all.

My only issue with this novel, and the reason for its 4-star rather than a 5-star rating is the pacing, and needless repetition about the reasons for the family feud. This novel is very slow to get moving, and if you've not read the two previous novels in this series, the sheer amount of characters living and working on the Merrick ranch will probably confuse you. Additionally, the multitude of hikes in the hills and the constant discussions about the beauty of the wild mustangs they repeatedly spot, as well as the Merrick's repeatedly having dessert and coffee on their porch to enjoy the sunsets over the Grand Tetons, all just seemed like a lot of unnecessary padding for a page count to this reader.

As Jonah, his family, and their friends in law enforcement try to clear Annie of any wrongdoing, the tension and suspense finally speed up into a dangerous and suspenseful climax , and yes, as expected, there's an HEA ending to this novel, and despite what felt like a slow start and unnecessary padding, this novel was still both an enjoyable and suspenseful read.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.
