This book is a delight and had me smiling or snickering pretty much the whole time I read it. It’s a quick, silly, little read that I definitely recommend to lift your spirits. I will totally be buying a copy when it comes out in September!

I HATED Haiku's in english. Like what as the point in them? However, after reading this book, I LOVE HAIKU's!!
This book spke my language and I loved every single page.

It deals with a lot of topics that are important today but they are created by comedians. Honestly, this is probably one of the funnest books I have read in a while. I mean I laughed out loud and even read a few aloud to my husband and even he cracked up!

If you want an escape from the day to day this is the perfect book for you!

I read this in one sitting and loved every second of it. It's accessible and easy to read - even for those that may think poetry isn't their thing. And it was laugh out loud funny; in just a few lines and syllables, these comedians are pointing out, poking fun at, or commenting on some of the strangest things our society does or believes.

From new pandemic normals, to online dating, to eating and how we deal with coworkers, this touched on so many aspects of live in funny and accessible ways. Can we get a part two?

i appreciated the introduction, which explains that traditional haikus were often written to be humorous. the foreword also mentions that the poems here were compiled with an awareness of their timeliness, as internet culture has turned brevity into the norm. i guess three-liners are all our short attention spans can handle?

much as i wanted to love this short collection, it was ultimately disappointing. the title is what initially caught my eye, because i personally LOVE to eat salad drunk. i expected a lot of fun, relatable little nuggets. but here's the title haiku:

Is both irresponsible
And responsible.

much less clever than i'd hoped. and that's the trend for much of the book. something relatable is mentioned in haiku form, but that's all. not as much humor and insight as a book like this should have. (or maybe i just don't have the right sense of humor)

This was a quick and quirky read. I knew of some of the comedians but not many. Some made me chuckle. I feel like this would make a good coffee table book or gift for a comedy lover.

Eating Salad Drunk is a collection of haikus about relevant current topics written by comedians. This book was hilarious; I enjoyed it so much I read it in one day. I loved reading all of the jokes and commentary in haikus, and I'm pretty sure I'll be seeing many things in everyday life in the form of haikus for awhile after reading this book. I also really appreciate that the proceeds for this book go to Comedy Gives Back. We all need a good laugh these days, and this book delivers for a good cause.

Eating Salad Drunk is the ultimate gifting book for every 20 or 30-something in your life (maybe 40-somethings too but I don't know I'm not there yet)! While the haiku in the book do not always adhere to traditional writing guidelines, Henry explains this as an artistic choice. Witty and precise, the haiku throughout had me absolutely giddy. I also feel like the book introduced me to some modern comedic geniuses that I had never even heard of! Overall a wonderful collection that I plan to happily buy all of my friends! If you're into laughing at your own pain and the monotony of every day life, this collection is for you!

Eating Salad Drunk: Haikus for the Burnout Age by Comedy Greats is an entertaining collection of haikus written by many of your favorite comedians. The haikus are separated by topic and have a lot of variety in terms of structure and content. Only a few illicit a guffaw, but I chuckled at so many. Some haikus are quite clever. This would make a fun gift or coffee table book.

I read the beginning of this book, and then browsed through the rest. I definitely made me giggle a few times, but the nature of many short haiku jokes is that an entire book of them feels really repetitive. The cadence didn't work for me.. This is a classic "other people will love this, but it's not for me" book. Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley!

Incredibly funny and an insightful view of the world through some of the most famous/hilarious people in our world today. I giggled and was surprised at how truly worldly this book was while navigating the cute and quick haikus. Interesting and frankly a little innovative, I hope this becomes a series because I truly enjoyed it!

And oh my gosh did I ever laugh - sometimes just a snicker or a smirk, other times I laughed so hard I had the proverbial ‘tears in my eyes’. I don’t follow stand up comedy, so the names of the poets didn’t mean anything to me, but the haiku were brilliantly witty, sarcastic, or just plain funny - not at all like traditional haiku. So if you’re like me, and not fond of haiku with its ponderous subjects and weighty commentary, be daring and read this book. No spoiler, just a Spew Alert - limit food, because you will snort.

Eating Salad Drunk is such a fun and humorous collection of haiku poems! I really enjoyed reading the forward and introduction to the book which help to set the stage for the rest of the book. The book itself is broken down into sections including Screen Time, Food, and Modern Romance among others. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the inclusions in this collection. This book would be a perfect gift or copy table book that could be read over and over with favorites bookmarked. I would definitely recommend this light and fun read!

Eating Salad Drink is a collection of haikus by various contributors. I loved that the haikus were supposed to be funny. There were a few that made me laugh out loud. The haikus focus on different topics like friends and family, food, modern romance, and entertainment. This was a quick read and it took me about an hour to read the book. It’s a great little pick-me-up.

I love a good haiku, and these were absolutely hilarious and insightful. It was cool to read from so many contributors of celebrity status, as well as the less well known comedians. Incredibly poignant, true-to-life, and honest.

This was a really short read, full of some fun (and very relatable) haiku. Obviously, these aren't really following the "rules" of traditional haiku (which usually focus on change and nature), but that's OK! This is a collection of haiku submitted by comedians, and I enjoyed some of the funny, unexpected, and clever quips in these 17-syllable poems.

Eating Salad Drunk by Gabe Henry is a collection of haiku poems that will be sure to leave you smiling. Contributed by comedians, each haiku strives to pack the greatest punchline into the most economical of poems. Each is successful although, it must be said, to varying degrees. The profits generated from this collection go toward the worthy cause Comedy Gives Back, and it is an investment that you won't regret making.
