this was a really well done mystery novel, I enjoyed going through this novel and trying to figure out what's going on. The characters were great and felt like real people.

This is great! Not your usual thriller, this is reminiscent of Minority Report. The main character is fascinating and the author depicts her in a way that you can feel her confusion and pain. I would definitely recommend this to people who like an adrenaline rush along with their reading!

The story starts as a narrative by a Private First Class of US Marine Core. On one occasion, she was in Afghanistan fighting terrorist and was shot dead and then she woke up at a strange place in a casket with naked dead people around her immersed in a black liquid. She does not remember her name and found herself in the middle of a gunfight with some grey suits and people she later came to know as alphas.
She escaped from the facility, realising that she cannot be killed and her wounds healed real fast. Still dazed and confused, she had a chance encounter with a businessman involved in human trafficking and got employed with him.
While trying to find her identity, she realised that she is being hunted and that she cannot survive without an experimental drug.
The book is written in five parts and 63 chapters and moves at a steady flow and keeps the reader engaged, interested and keep guessing as to what is in store in the next chapter.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for providing an advanced review copy.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Glass Highway for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Ok I admit it, I got it because I liked the cover. I know, I know...but I couldn't resist. I have not read anything by this author so new for me. I really enjoyed the book. I found it kept me on my toes, I haven't read anything like this before. It kept me guessing. I loved Jane Doe. She was awesome. This has a bit of everything, suspense, mystery, fantasy. 4 stars I am sure that this is not for everyone, but I liked it.

Gender Swapped Universal Soldier Meets Deeper Unique Lore. This book *very* much has a Universal Soldier feel through much of it - which isn't a bad thing at all for this particular reader, since I *loved* that movie for *years*. And yet, these sections can still feel so... "well trod"... just because it *has* been done so often before. Even the gender swapping has been done to a slightly lesser extent.
But then the book connects to a much deeper lore, to a world that it seems that the author has been developing across at least a few books - and a quick perusal of Amazon confirms this suspicion. So even while setting up a seemingly routine-ish (with a few nice wrinkles) Book 1 of a new action series, the book does well to advertise the author's prior works and encourage an exploration of those tales as well. Great marketing strategy, and a solid storytelling technique.
Overall the tale is interesting and the ending truly does leave the reader wanting more... this reader in particular simply hopes that it does more to stand out in future endeavors. Very much recommended.

I enjoyed Faithless by Steven Ramirez. It was a solid read. The main character - Jane Doe - is a badass genetically enhanced woman. And everyone is after her! Well not everyone, but people who are on her side are in plenty of danger. The story is fairly gritty with lots of action and is set up well to be continued in a sequel. I would love to read that sequel.. I rated this 3 stars but in reality this is a solid 3.5 for me. As an aside I love the cover art - Jane Doe looks like Catherine Zeta-Jones in Chicago.
