Full disclosure… this was my first audiobook ever. Thank you NetGalley and HarperAudio and William Morrow for the opportunity to listen to and review this ARC. I chose the audio version as I was going on a solo road trip and often struggle to stay awake while driving. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t find being read to boring at all, and my trip passed by quickly. The story was full of great snarky side comments and unreliable narrators. It makes you wonder just how many people do in fact get away with murder! I still prefer to read a physical book at my own pace with my imaginary voices, but I will definitely seek out more audiobooks for my future road trips!

What happens when the girl from the other side of the tracks is found shot to death in her rental? Was it the husband or is there something more sinster going on? Told from multiple points of view, this was twisty and turny and a really good read. Highly recommended.

Set is a small town in rural Maine, the lives of a local woman and an arrogant wealthy Bostonian collide with fatal results. The story is told from different points of view in alternating chapters: Lizzie (narrated from the grave), the daughter of the owner of the local junk yard, who is despised by just about everyone in town, Adrienne, a wealthy, shallow Instagram influencer who rents Lizzie’s small lake house trying to escape her life in the city after her financier husband is indicted for fraud and Ian Bird, a homicide detective summoned by the state police to investigate the case.

This is a superior thriller with a clever twist midway through and an unexpected ending. Kat Rosenfield’s writing style is exceptional. Her ability to create disparate characters, a compelling storyline, marvelous descriptions of several locales along with realistic dialogue is top notch. Truly a “page turner” and highly recommended.

Fans of psychological thrillers will love No One Will Miss Her. What happens when the town's "junkyard jezebel" dies? Will anyone care? It looks like her husband did it so why really investigate. But a big city investigator starts looking into the case and finds out there's more to it than that. It's fun and dark and has the twists everyone loves.

Lizzie Oullette is the town pariah. The town has always judged her as the daughter of the town junkman. They all saw Lizzie exactly as they wanted to, not for the person she is.

Lizzie rents a lake house to a wealthy socialite Adrienne and her disgraced billionaire husband. Lizzie’s dead body is found, her husband Dwayne is missing and Adrianne heads back home. Who killed Lizzie and why?

There were some top notch twists in the book. I will be thinking about this book for a while. Highly recommend reading No One Will Miss Her.

A great, quick summer read with alternating points of view for thriller fans that has a twist I'm sure many won't see coming, I know I didn't! I imagine fans of The Guest House, Silent Patient, and the like will also enjoy Rosenfield's, No One Will Miss Her. Thank you to NetGalley for this digital ARC.

I really didn't enjoy how slow the middle of this book was; the pacing of the story as a whole felt a bit all over the place, which made it hard for me to want to continue reading. If pacing and slower thrillers are not an issue for you, you will probably enjoy this book more than I did, as the twists and the ending were interesting and satisfying.

If you're looking for a slow burn, followed by a surprising twist and a fast ride, this is the book for you. While the opening chapters caught me right away, the story slowed down substantially but it was all necessary to really set up for the major twist. The twist comes when you least expect it, and from there it's a wild ride.

The last half of the book was fast-paced. A very enjoyable thriller.

Thank you to Netgalley, William Morrow, and Kat Rosenfield for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a fun, twisty, dark phycological thriller! I didn’t see the twists coming and really enjoyed the ending.

Lizzie is looked at as the “junkyard jezebel” by everyone in the small rural town of Copper Falls, Maine. When her father’s junkyard ends up in flames, the town sheriff discovers her dead body in her rental cabin. Her husband is missing and presumed the killer. Big city homicide detective, Ian Bird, arrives to investigate and realizes there’s a connection in the case with a rich and famous criminal and his beautiful social media influencer wife. I won’t give anything away, but if you enjoy physiological thrillers, this is for you.

Thank you to William Morrow Books and NetGalley for my advanced copy in return for an honest review. No One Will Miss Her will be published on 10/12/21.

I couldn't really connect with this thriller. The beginning kicks off with some pretty grizzly descriptions, which was a bit strong for my weak stomach. I did continue to read, but struggled to stay interested. However, one of the aspects I really did enjoy was Lizzie's narration from the grave, which leant a unique perspective to the story.

A near-perfect thriller with an amazing twist that blew me away!

Detective Ian Bird finds himself in rural Maine, in the rundown town of Copper Falls. A junkyard is on fire, and a local woman named Lizzie Oullette is found brutally murdered nearby in the lake house that she rents out during the summer.

Lizzie has never been liked by the residents of Copper Falls, even though she has been there all of her poor and rough life. They also don’t understand why “town hero” Dwayne would’ve married her. Now, Dwayne is unaccounted for, and Detective Bird really wants to find him to get some answers.

Adrienne Richards is a social media influencer who lives the life of luxury (and scandal) almost 200 miles away. How did she end up crossing paths with Lizzie? How might she be involved in the swirl of Copper Falls?

You’ll need to read it to find out, and I’d advise skipping the official synopsis.

Before I get into why I loved this book, I do need to give a trigger warning: a scene of graphic animal harm that was not easy to read. If you want to skip/skim that scene, the Kindle App locations are 745-811.

Aside from that, this is riveting, atmospheric, and gritty...and there is is a MAJOR moment of bamboozlement after a twist that literally made me gasp, scratch my head, and then re-read almost everything I had already read up until that point. It’s a doozy!

The brilliant and scenic writing, and getting into the psych of the many interesting characters, make this an unputdownable thriller that I flew through. It’s dark and violent at times, but I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next.

When Lizzy is found dead in her cabin in Maine, it's made pretty clear who the culprits are. Her husband is missing and so he's the obvious choice. Lizzy, speaking from the grave let's the reader know otherwise. The big mystery is why.

As the suspenseful story moves on, we do find the "why" and so much more. A real page turner, you'll find yourself questioning the what the good life really means and to what end would you go to attain it.

Lizzie was raised by her father in a junkyard in a run down town. Her mother died when she was young, all of the kids in town hated her. All she had was her imagination to keep her company.
The townspeople still shun her as an adult.

Now, a homicide investigator from the city pulls into town as the junkyard is burning.... Lizzie is found dead inside. Her husband is no where to be found.

As the detective works the case, a connection is found to a beautiful social media influencer and her infamous billionaire husband.

How could these people from such polar opposite ends of society be related?

Ok, I’m just going to tell you up front, there are some parts that require suspension of believability. If you are the kind of person that watches Spiderman and starts thinking to yourself that it’s improbable that his web could support his weight between buildings, it probably isn’t for you😂

But, I really liked this one- it’s gritty,
unique and cleverly written. It kept me engaged, guessing and flipping pages.

Oh, wow. 😱 This book! I didn’t see the twist coming, which is always delicious. Not to mention, it was a FUN twist. I thought the plot was creative and that it was incredibly unique to have the main narrator of this book be a dead woman. There was some shifting of narrators and perspectives, but not in a confusing way - plus the chance to be inside Lizzie’s head was fascinating. This book is dark and gritty and definitely gruesome (and an on-page cat murder that I definitely hugged my cat after reading😿) but I still tore through this book in like a day. It’s an awesome, fast-paced thriller that would be perfect for breaking out of a reading slump.

Detective Ian Bird is looking for Lizzie Oulette’s husband after discovering her body at her lake house. He also needs to question influencer Adrienne, who has used Lizzie’s lake house in the past. What is Adrienne’s connection and does she know more than she lets on?

This was a pretty fun and entertaining thriller. I will say that during the first part (first third) of the book, I felt a little confused and felt like I didn’t know exactly what was going on. If this happens to you, don’t worry... it will soon all click! I found the entire book entertaining and liked the narration and perspective changes. I will say that overall I found it completely unbelievable, but I think with thrillers sometimes you just have to suspend your disbelief and enjoy the ride.

“And did I dream of happily ever after? Of us making a little life together, a little house with little lace curtains, a little wife with a little baby kissing her husband off to work. Did I imagine us showing up at a barbecue in the haziest part of August, where grinning schoolmates would hug me, and slap Dwayne on the back, and say Good going buddy as they clucked over the baby? Or course I did. Because I’m a fucking idiot.”

No One Will Miss Her comes out of 10/12.

I really enjoyed the experience of this book. A little bit of gore, intrigue, a few unsuspecting twists and a delightful ending. It kept me in suspense on how it would all turn out. It’s well written, flowed well and the multiple story lines complemented each other. I quickly got invested in the characters even the ones I loved to hate. There were a few details that seemed implausible- why didn’t they catch that or test that?- but it didn’t take away from the story. I loved the ending and how it worked itself out. It was a fun, easy read. Thank you to Kat Rosenfield and Custom House Publishing for allowing me to read and review this book.

Creative and twisty. 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 rounded up.

It’s October in rural Copper Falls, Maine. Big city detective Ian Bird is investigating the murder of Lizzie Oullette, self-proclaimed ”junkyard trash” who is disliked by much of the town. Her husband, Dwayne, is the lead suspect… and he’s nowhere to be found. Bird’s investigation leads him to Adrienne Richards, a beautiful social media influencer, and her disgraced billionaire husband, Ethan, who had been renting Lizzie’s small lake house in the Podunk town. The story is narrated by Lizzie (from beyond the grave) and alternates between The Lake and The City, where it focuses on Ian Bird and Adrienne Richards, respectively.

The book begins with the discovery of Lizzie, and the details are pretty gross which was a bit of a turnoff right off the bat. However the story beyond that pulled me in and held my interest. Part one ends with a twist I did not see coming, which was a nice surprise because sometimes you can see them from a mile away. However, there are a few items within the investigation that would have/should have come to light in a real investigation, that were kind of forgotten about in the story.

Overall I enjoyed the twist and the story!

I received an advance copy of, No One Will Miss Her, by Kat Rosenfield. I did not like this book, the characters, the language, just not my cup of tea.
