So, I'm not sure how to even go about this review without giving away spoilers! I will start by saying this is as close to a perfect thriller as one can get! I was wowed by every aspect of this book. The plot, the characters, the writing style, the plot twits... it was all level 100! This was my first novel by author Kat Rosenfield, but it will not be my last!

This review will be short, because it's best to go into this novel nearly blind. Don't look for spoiler reviews, just get the book and start reading! This thriller will leave you running in circles and shocked by how it ends. Even the most savvy reader won't see the twists and turns ahead.

The author does a magnificent job at setting scenes and building up characters. The chapters are written in alternating perspectives and broken into 3 parts, plus and epilogue. Each chapter is told from a different main character perspective and it's brilliant in how it weaves in more and more mysterious twists yet at the same unravels mysteries we didn't even know needed answered.

So, it's a 5 star read for me. I honesty think I will read it again now that I know where all the twists and turns are and see if I can get even more perspective(s) from each character.

Thanks to Netgalley and William Morrow for allowing me an advanced digital copy to read and give my honest review.

"No One Will Miss Her" is set to be released on October 12, 2021 here in the U.S. so preorder today so that you can start reading tomorrow! If you love mysteries and thrillers this is a must read! One of my top picks for 2021!

Happy Reading!

In Copper Falls, Maine, Lizzie Ouellette was the village outcast. Daughter of Earl, the owner of the local junkyard, Lizzie never fit in even after ten years of marriage to Dwayne Cleaves, former high school baseball star and son of the local preacher. When she is found gruesomely murdered in her lake house she rents out during the summers, everyone is concerned. But less about the death of Lizzie and primarily because their beloved Dwayne is missing and is considered the main suspect in his wife's murder. While the focus remains on finding Dwayne, Maine State Police Detective Ian Bird is interested in learning more about Adrienne and Ethan Richards, a wealthy couple from Boston who had been the last ones to rent Lizzie’s lake house. Ethan is a disgraced billionaire. While escaping charges of bilking his clients of their money, he is reviled in the public’s eye. Wife Adrienne, a social media influencer, is also hated for being entitled and overly arrogant about her extravagant lifestyle. Could they be connected to this local tragedy?

No One Will Miss Her is a clever mystery/thriller that is filled with some very good twists and turns. Author Kat Rosenfield keeps things moving fast. In addition to revealing more and more about the case in a manner that will keep you glued, the book also proves to be an interesting commentary on the haves and have-nots in society. The description of the depressed environment in Copper Falls tells volumes. If your interest is piqued, head straight to the book as you don’t want any spoilers to get in your way.

Lizzie Oullette was trailer trash. They all said it. She grew up with her father in a trailer on the site of the junkyard her father owned. An outcast and viewed negatively when she got pregnant by Dwayne, the high school hero who is college bound until her marries her and his life takes a drastic turn. Copper Falls like all small towns remember and once you are labeled, you can never truly change the opinion of your neighbors. You certainly can't change their opinion when you rent to wealthy outsiders, Adrienne Richards, and her disgraced billionaire husband Ethan.

Then one day in October, in rural Maine, Detective Ian Bird is called to the scene after the junkyard burns to the ground and Lizzie Oullette is found gruesomely murdered in her home while her husband Dwayne is missing. The investigation comes up with more questions than answers. Why would Adrienne and Ethan keep renting out this cabin. Surely it is not to their taste, and they can afford better. So, what is the appeal? Lizzie and Adrienne appear to be thick as thieves, but are they?

JUICY Seriously, juicy with a twist that I did not see coming! I almost got whiplash from the shocking wtf moment it produced! That is how you do it! I was already fully gripped and invested in the book and then she knocked it out of the ballpark.!!!

Woohoo! This book was like an avalanche that picks up speed as it races down the mountain! One this got going there was no stopping it!

Whew! Clever, clever, clever!

This had me on the edge of my seat!

Gripping, Violent, Dark and oh so, clever.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫3.5/5

Let me start by saying that this cover is what first grabbed my attention-it’s stunning! This one started off somewhat slow for me, although it did seem to pick up pace around page 50-60. After this, I was hooked. The opening sentence lets you know that the main character, Lizzie, has been murdered, the question is-who is responsible?

This is an awesome psych thriller, mystery, & police procedural all rolled into one. This is one of those books where you think you’ve got the answers, and then the author comes and shakes things up. This is told from 3 different POV: the main character Lizzie from beyond the grave, Det. bird, & Adrienne. There are a lot of layers to unravel within this book, for some this will leave you a bit confused, but once the twists are revealed it will all come flowing together perfectly.

The writing style is superb, gritty, atmospheric, and the author definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. I will say that some parts of this story are very unrealistic and unbelievable.

I was pretty disturbed by a VERY graphic scene of animal abuse (which I am NOT okay with,) so fair warning before you pick this one up-know that there is a real horrible scene with animal violence.

Overall, this books is a really awesome murder mystery for fans of Gillian Flynn, Rachel Hawkins, Liv Constantine. I was definitely feeling some Gone Girl vibes while reading this one

I did not enjoy this book. The twist was good, but it was not enough to make me enjoy the rest of the book. I read a lot of reviews that have the opposite opinion though, so this may just be me. 2 stars.

This is such a sad story about Lizzie who grew up in a small town in rural Maine. She was known as the trash of the town. The girl nobody paid any attention to until she tied down the town's sweetheart Dwayne who was going places until Lizzie got pregnant. Dwayne, a pastor's son, wanted to do right by her and they got married. Everyone said the pregnancy was fake, and that she ruined Dwaynes's future. Fast forward ten years later, and Lizzie's body is found in the couple's lake house and Dwayne is missing. What follows is a thrilling read full of twists and turns that you won't see coming!

What a ride this is! Part 1 is all about Lizzie's background leading up to her untimely death. If you don't like the first half, just wait for Part 2. I don't want to say much, but I never saw it coming and I was even more surprised about how it all ended.

4 snarky stars

I kept reading strong review for this one from trusted Goodreads friends and they were spot on! I’m so glad I followed their lead and read this one. This is a tension-filled, perfectly paced tale that draws us into the lives of two very different women.

We hear from snarky narrator Lizzie, she’s from the small town of Copper Falls, and grew up on a junkyard. She’s not well liked in the community as most feel she duped Dwayne into marrying her. She is trying to make a bit of extra money renting out a house on the lake, and that’s where she meets Adrienne and her husband. They have money to burn and scandals at home, so they don’t mind that the cabin is remote and disconnected from the world. Soon Lizzie and Adrienne are spending a lot of time together.

We meet Maine State Police Detective Ian Bird as he begins an investigation. Just what happened at the cabin?

This well-written tale has a major twist that made me gasp out loud and definitely made this one a unique read. I enjoyed this one and I look forward to future books from Kat Rosenfield.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I have picked up of hers. Her writing skills and attention to details make her books engaging and entertaining. This book is no different. This is a well written story that has characters that only bring the story to life but gave it a realistic feel. They are connectable and made the story engaging. This is a story about two women who are complete opposites but are about to find out what happens when you interfer in another person's life. The twists and turns left me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next. They are great characters that brought the suspense and thrill. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.

A clever thriller! Det. Ian Bird is investigating the shotgun murder of Lizzie, a woman who lived on the margins of Copper Falls for all of her 28 years. Everyone seems to think she ruined the life of her husband Dwayne, who is missing but you'll get to read her side of the story. Then there's Adrienne and Ethan wealthy (if criminal) denizens of Boston who have been renting Lizzie's lakeside cabin. What do they know about the murder? No one much likes Adrienne either. So hard to review this one without spoilers but know that it's got a big twist or two ahead. I found myself very sympathetic to Lizzie, who didn't deserve to be treated the way she was (and gentle readers might want to skip a page about Rags). Thanks to the publisher for the arc. Great storytelling and characters as well as a unique plot for this genre made this a page turning read.

No One Will Miss Her by Kat Rosenfield completely blew my mind. There was a moment of pure shock/twist that made me have to look back to make sure I didn't miss something. The writing is brilliantly done and many characters were very interesting. I thought this thriller moved at lightening speed and I simply had to know what would happen next.

Trigger Warning: animal abuse

Thanks to William Morrow Books for an egalley of this book.⁣

A lot of people like to delve into thriller’s in October, and if that’s the case for you I’ve got the perfect book: 𝐍𝐎 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝗪𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐑 by Kat Rosenfield (10/12). From the very beginning, the book is a little creepy since its opening narrator is speaking directly to the reader...from beyond the grave. Lizzie Oullette is dead and she wants to make sure you know exactly how and why she’s been killed. ⁣

Then there’s Adrienne Richards, a wealthy woman who often rented Lizzie’s Maine lake house. She’s got something to hide, but doesn’t want to let us know what it is. Add to that one missing husband, another who needs to be handled with kid gloves, a detective trying to put all the pieces together, a really great twist and you’ve got one fine thriller. Settle in with this book, a glass of wine, a cozy blanket, and get comfortable. You won’t be going anywhere soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My first book by this author and it won't be my last. This was a real page turner from start to finish. The twists and turns were perfect. You won't see it coming!!!!

This is a fast paced thriller that will have you on the edge in quite a few places. Told from different povs it tells the story of a young woman, a wife, who was brutally murdered. The only way she is identified is priceless yet cruel too. Shame on them. I truly liked Lizzie. All the way through this book I rooted for her. Even though she was murdered I still rooted for her. She was the junkyard trash. The girl that was bullied for no other reason than they had no one else to pick on. No one else to hate. She grew up in a junkyard. Her dad, Earl, loved her dearly. Her mother died when she was quite young. She was in my opinion a lovely girl. A very resilient young woman who did nothing except be born and raised in a junkyard.

This story is told from Lizzie's POV after she is shot in the face. She says straight up that she won't lie and she doesn't. She's a very honest person. A caring person. One who loves animals and who loved her husband, Dwayne,..at least she tried too. He I didn't like. He was the reason that the people in this town were so mean to Lizzie, most of the time anyway. They said she ruined his life. I say she would have been the best thing to ever happen to him. She was very smart and could get things done. She didn't care what others thought of her. But she did want a life. A family. A home. I felt sorry for her. She deserved so much better than this town.

There is the rich woman, Adrienne, who comes to stay in Lizzie's cabin along with her husband. This story is told from her pov also. She lives in The City. She visits the lake for a month and gets to know Lizzie. They become somewhat friends. But Adrienne is also a snob. A society woman who thinks she is so much better than everyone else. She has no worries.

This story is told in a way that you won't see the twist coming until it hits you between the eyes. Then you get another one. I was stunned. Totally thrown for a loop. I didn't even go there. I was shocked. I was happy that I didn't figure out why or who or what. That kept me wanting more. This book is very well written. You feel the things that happen. From the blast of the gun to the spatter of blood. From the hostility of the town to the fear that Adrienne feels. You get to know each person well. You will like very few. I only actually liked two, Lizzie and her dad. The rest were not people I would want to associate with at all. It made this story better though. The meanness of the people in this town made this what it was.

Thank you #NetGalley, #KatRosenfielf, #WilliamMorrow for this ARC. This is my own true feelings about this book.

5/5 stars. It's great. Edge of your seat thrills with twists that will leave you breathless until the very last page.

A dead body, the town pariah, a nasty privileged woman, a nosy policeman…a good mix of characters to pull me into this thriller. Let’s be honest - most thrillers these days I find fairly unthrilling, but this one had me from page one. First - the victim is quite compelling. Raised in the town junkyard by a single, alcoholic father, bullied by other children, vilified by the townspeople as she grew up, Lizzie is a complicated woman. And the rich woman, Adrienne, who rents Lizzie’s lake house? Wow. Just wow. She is the poster child for White-Rich-Privileged-Entitled. After her husband bilks millions from innocent investors, the couple is cut off from society but heck, who cares as long as they still have their own money?! This book has some jaw dropping twists, some implausibilities that I could easily ignore in the name of entertainment, and some compelling characters.

“When you’ve been rejected all your life, the thing you want most in the world isn’t to escape. It’s to be let in”

TW: Animal Cruelty (literally skipped over it and still cried)

Well that just ripped my heart out, stomped on it, laughed in my face with its tongue sticking out, and then threw up a peace sign as it ran off into the sunset.

We start with some dual timelines of the contrast from the Lake and the City. Two vastly different places with vastly different people, but man you get sucked in. Part 2 gives you dual timelines of dead Lizzie and Bird trying to solve the case. These timelines worked so well. So well! Lizzie’s parts were by far the best. They reminded me of Emily Dickinson with just this sorrow and sadness. I think it was absolute genius to have her point of view told this way.

I was angry, I was mad, I was hurt, and honestly, I just wanted to hug Lizzie. But then, my mind was blown, my jaw hit the floor, and I sat up like Libra on BB10 in absolute dismay (google Libra BB10 gif, you’re welcome)

The narration is fantastic. Cassandra Campbell has this snarky air down so well! I laughed way too many times that I probably should have!

If you’re into thriller or mystery where it can happen in real life, eh, look somewhere else. Suspend your belief in reality and enjoy this book to really have you feeling for characters, enraptured in the story, and have wonderful narration. I really enjoyed this story and loved the ending. LOVED. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. Thank you so much @harperaudio for the copy. No One Will Miss Her is out 10/12!

From the first chapter I was hooked. Poor Lizzie grew up as an outsider, destined to always be the junkman’s daughter. Lizzie tells us her story leading up to her gruesome murder. The narration coming from beyond the grave is so well written and insanely clever which makes this a refreshing thriller. We also get a peek into Detective Bird’s perspective as he works on Lizzie’s case, which is an added bonus.

This books features highly unlikeable characters, but that’s always something I enjoy. It also plays into the status of rich and poor, something not entirely unique but Rosenfield does it in an exciting and twisted way.

The pacing of this story is perfect. It kept me engaged the entire time and I couldn’t make myself put it down. I would personally skip the official synopsis of this book as I think it gives too much away. BUT this is a near perfect thriller for me. I can already say this is a top book of 2021 for me.

Thank you to William & Morrow, Netgalley, and Kat Rosenfield for this e-arc. No One Will Miss Her is out 10/12.

Kat Rosenfield has now gotten on my radar and I will be looking for future reads... I am now a fan!!
Lizzie Oullette town outcast, wrong side of the tracks throwaway girl always on the outside looking in. Lizzie has never had the popular vote in Copper Falls and still remains there after all these years of being discarded by the town. Even married to the "town hero" Dwayne, she gets no recognition past being trash. Lizzie is found brutally murdered in her nearby lake house and Dwayne nowhere to be found. Detective Ian Bird is sent to solve the mystery. Within this story we get a glimpse at Adrienne Richards the rich social media influencer always involved in scandal, so why did she pick Copper Falls of all places to summer in Lizzie's lake house? This was an upside down start from the back of the book psychological suspense ride that kept me turning page after page!! I loved it all!! Thank you Netgalley and William Morrow for the chance to read and review, and to become a new fan of immense suspenseful writing of a new author in my wheelhouse genre!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this early read! No One Will Miss Her is the tale of two women. Lizzie Ouellette, a young woman in a small town, with a bad reputation, married to the wrong man. As a young girl, she lived with her father at the local junkyard, and she was always considered an “outsider” – someone to torment, then shun, and then ultimately ignore. She has been making some money by renting out her lakeside cabin to vacationers from away. Adrienne Richards is a wealthy socialist, spending her time shopping and posting on Instagram, and trying to forget that her husband almost went to jail for a Bernie Madoff type scheme. She rents Lizzie’s cabin and the two women seem to bond, drinking wine and sharing secrets.
When the novel starts, Lizzie tells us “if you are reading this, then I am already dead”. Lizzie has been found murdered and everyone suspects her husband, who has disappeared. The story goes back and forth (with occasional commentary from Lizzie from beyond the grave) between what is happening at the lake with the investigation, and what is going on with Adrienne back in her home in the city. Because it is clear that Adrienne and her husband have something to do with what has happened to Lizzie. From here, I can’t really say more without giving anything away. If you like thrillers with lots of twists and turns, if you like Gillian Flynn and Paula Hawkins, then add this October title to your hold list.

Lizzie Ouilette, who has grown up in the small town of Copper Falls, Maine, is found dead one day and her husband is missing. The local police soon discover Lizzie's connection to Adrienne Richards, who was renting Lizzie's house and start looking into how these two women's lives were intertwined.

If you've read even a few thrillers, you will immediately figure out the ending of this one. But I still think the book did a good job of portraying small town life. Yes, the contrasts between dowdy, rural Lizzie and cool, urban influencer Adrienne are a little bit glib and predictable, I still enjoyed watching this one play out (and was happy to be right in my suspicions about the ending!) Just because you guess the ending doesn't mean it spoils the book, because you have to read it to realize that you are right.

"My name is Lizzie Ouellette, and if you're reading this, I'm already dead." What a great opening sentence! It sets the stage for a thriller that sucked me in and kept me turning pages to try and figure out what was going on. I was drawn into the rural Maine town of Copper Falls by a string of characters who kept me guessing what they were up to. There were characters to root for and nasty ones I hoped would get their comeuppance.

Lizzie Ouellette is found dead in the cabin she rents to tourists. Enter Ian Bird, a homicide detective from the state police. It is his task to solve the murder and the suspect pool is narrow: where is Lizzie's husband, Dwayne? Bird's investigation broadens to include renters who may have been among the last to see Lizzie alive, socialite and social media influencer Adrienne Richards and her disgraced billionaire financier husband. The more Bird looks into the couple, the more he finds that the relationship between them and Lizzie and her husband was more than that of renter/tenant.

Told from multiple POV, the story switches perspective in this character-driven novel. Yes, it is a thriller with a terrific twist, but it's also a great murder mystery and police procedural. It is fast-paced and the writing is excellent. It has all of the ingredients to be a hit with those who love this type of book. Count me among them,.

Thank you NetGalley and William Morrow for an advance copy of this book. The publication date is October 12, 2021.
