this was a really enjoyable read, I had enjoyed the previous two books as it had a wonderfully spooky atmosphere and great characters. This book had that and more. I think this is my favorite part of the series.

This book brings Abram Fairhope back into the fold, grudgingly, at his sister Cassie’s request. He has no clue that the world as he knows it is about to change. All Abram wants to do is pay his respects to his mother and get back on his horse to to get back to his job as a senator’s aide. When he gets home he get a few shocking truths about himself, his abilities, and his family. Now he has to shield his sister at all costs.
I’ve been really enjoying this series as it progresses. With each new book comes another brother to the story. The intrigue is building over who not only killed Mercy Fairhope, but who’s going around killing women in the night. Who can Mercy’s adult children trust? Who’s an enemy and who’s a friend? When are the aunt’s going to arrive and are they going to take Cassie with them whether she wants to go or not?
This book moved a bit slower than the previous one's in the series but it was a great read nonetheless. I look forward to the next book in the series.
