Such a charming and touching story. As a grandmother myself, I loved the storyline here, especially since most romances revolve around coming-of-age couples. I also liked that Jack is learning a lesson many of us have had to learn as we come to trust in our faith. I know I have, and I still struggle with wanting the answers now rather than later, so this one definitely hit home for me. The book is well written, the couple is one you just want to root for, and I always enjoy when a child is in the mix - particularly when they're done as well as Richer does Lizzie. I thoroughly enjoyed A Plan for Her Future, and while this may be the first book I've read by this author, it won't be the last.

A beautiful story of faith, friendship and second chances.

Grace is ready to embark on a trip of a lifetime, when she walks out her door and finds her high school boyfriend laying on the road in front of her house along with a very upset little girl worried about her grandfather. If that were not unsettling enough, the little girl claims that they were coming to Graces so that Grace could marry her grandfather.

Friends, the story just gets better from there. The first thing I would like to mention is that I was thrilled to read a story about middle aged people, with a lot of history trying to find their way back to each other. The two main characters brought history, experience and life lessons well learned into the story. It was fun to read the banter between them, and when you add in a sweet little girl, your heartstrings start singing. I loved Lois Richers writing style, and even though this was the first book I’ve read in the series, my interest was peaked and I would love to go back and read the series from the beginning. Thank you so much to Harlequin Publishing, Lois Richer and Netgalley for a copy of the book to read in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

What a very sweet and clean romance! Grace has retired as the town’s librarian and is looking forward to a long trip to celebrate when her old love Jack Prinz shows up with his little granddaughter Lizzie and is insistent that Grace is going to marry him. Grace is generous, compassionate and the perfect person to be Lizzie’s grandmother. All of her traits are admirable and to be emulated. Jack is learning to be a new Christian and to trust God’s will instead of insisting on his own. The plot is predictable but getting to the end was heart-warming entertainment. The characters were well-developed, even little Lizzie with her heartbreak that she needs Grace to help heal. I especially enjoyed Grace’s generosity to her friend Jess and how the entire town rallied around to do a fundraiser to improve the children’s camp. This book portrayed life the way I wish it could be, with people just loving and accepting each other and waiting for God to tell them the next step to take in life. Fans of romance will enjoy this book, especially if you’re older and have given up on love. With the lesson to never give up on God, this was a wonderful story to read!
