Seven psychopaths go to college, all expenses paid. Seven psychopaths. to see how they they can assimilate and how they can get their lives together. Nothing can go wrong here, surely? Chloe is our main psychopath, a brilliant young women with chameleon like abilities able to adapt to any situation she encounters. Except for one in childhood which was her reason for joining the study. The student who had assaulted her is right here on campus. The psychologist in charge is a shadowy character with ties to a previous serial killer. Ready, set go! We meet them st various points as they are brought together by two murders on campus. Two students in the program have been murdered. We suspect each one at various times and we want Chloe to get revenge. Slightly confusing and a little repetitive in parts but it held my attention and I was surprised by the final reveal.

This was such a unique concept for a thriller. It’s always fun to read a book that’s never been done before. A full scholarship to psychopaths with a little bit of a catch, they’re tracked and have to complete certain tests. I really liked the addition of a serial killer cold case as well. I have to say I enjoyed Charles a lot more as a character than I should have. This book kept me guessing until the end and was an awesome summer thriller!

Wow! This is a debut novel from an author I will certainly be watching. This story takes place in a college setting and features seven psychopaths who are going to school on a scholarship based on their participation in a study of psychopaths and their react in various situations. Two of the seven end up dead and the remaining participants challenged with solving the crimes. Who can be trusted? The plot takes many turns and more than keeps the reader interested. The multiple voices are great, but not having an indicator who was telling what is the only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars . Thank you #netgalley #neversawmecoming for the advanced copy. I’ll be watching for more from @veraKurian

This is your straightforward campus novel that centers around students in a psychology study.-except the study subjects are all psychopaths and one is plotting a murder. The novel is told in shifting points of view, including some of the students and the researcher. When a murder actually occurs, the study and the students’ come into question. Can you tell who is really a psychopath?

There are many ways potential students can get assistance to pay all or part of their college tuition, but this is one of the stranger ways. Chloe and six other students have been diagnosed as psychopaths. In exchange for participating in a study, they each receive a full scholarship to John Adams University.
My first thought was this can't end well. My second thought was, okay, many people who have this personality disorder are not killers, so having a better understanding of antisocial behavior would most likely be a good thing. Then we are introduced to Chloe.
She has her own reasons for becoming involved in this program. She plans to murder Will Bachman, a boy who abused her in the past. So now I know that something is going to go wrong, and Chloe is going to be responsible. Not so fast, before she can carry out her plan, her fellow psychopaths start turning up deader than Jacob Marley. She has to put her agenda on hold and figure out what is going on if she doesn't want to wind up dead.
An intriguing game of cat and mouse, with some unique and extremely unreliable narrators, and an ending that I didn't see coming. Will you need to suspend belief to enjoy Never Saw Me Coming. Yes, but honestly, if you dig too deeply into many mysteries and thrillers, there are always, that's not possible moments, but an engaging story will always have me just going with the flow. Another very good debut which publishes in September, still enough time in many places to enjoy a beach or outdoor read.

This book was great and if you like the Gone Girl genre, picture that mixed with college drama and you'll get this book. It was a little bit of a slow start but about halfway through it really grabbed me and I didn't put it down until I was finished. I definitely recommend it and will read more from this author.

While I am a good bit older than the probable intended audience for this book--I had to look up a couple of phrases used--I did very much enjoy it. Another reviewer mentioned that the book read a bit like YA, so I would call this New Adult fiction if I had to tag it. There were quite a few strings left untied at the end, so I hope that means Vera Kurian has plans for more books involving the characters. If you've read and enjoyed the Joe Goldberg novels by Caroline Kepnes, there is something for you here. I found myself reacting to Chloe and Charles in the same way I reacted to Joe Goldberg: I was fascinated by them and hated myself a little bit for rooting for them, but I did. There is a good bit of very snarky humor, which I appreciate. I look forward to reading more by this author, hopefully including more books with these characters.

Great read! I was a little leery that all the psychological aspects of the book would overwhelm the story but not to worry! While it plays an integral part of it, there’ was plenty of drama, mystery & excitement😊

Dark, totally original story about a group of young people diagnosed with psychopathy who are offered a free ride to college in return for taking part in a study. The only problem is someone is picking the students off one by one. Because of their diagnoses, these young people lack certain emotions and empathy so it’s almost impossible to tell who is lying, because they are all skilled liars. Excellent psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat with a twist you will not see coming. Highly recommended.

This book has a unique setting which I haven’t read before. The characters are complicated; since the author is a scientist, I am expecting to understand psychopaths from a way based on research even though I know it is a fiction. I was attracted by the story and assume it is a series since the story doesn’t seem to end there to me. And I am definitely waiting for the next book to come.

*Thank you NetGalley for the ARC*

I enjoyed this book, I didn't really know what to expect but I really liked it.
We have the main character, "Chloe", and then we have other students in her program that we follow. It was good to read from different characters' perspectives and it made for an interesting story. Very easy to follow, the mystery was good, so was the thriller aspect of it, and there were lots of twists and turns. Even though she is diagnosed as a psychopath, Chloe is a great character and I very much liked her background story and how her present played out.

If you like college-aged characters in mystery/thrillers, you will most likely enjoy this book!
I don't know if this is a stand-alone but I would definitely read another book with these characters in it.

A bunch of psychopaths on the same college campus in an experimental psych program to study their behavior, and then students start dying? Sign me up! Unfortunately this one fell flat and didn’t live up to the expectations I had for it. For one thing, psychopaths are entirely unlikable people. And the story meandered a lot but never felt like it had a true path. The twist at the end was unsatisfying to me. I was disappointed by this. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Never Saw Me Coming is a story of 7 students who are given free tuition to be a part of an unusual college study. What makes this particular study so different is that it only includes psychopaths, including our main character, Chloe Sevre. Chloe is here to exact her revenge upon another student from her past. Things are running relatively smoothly for this plan until a student is found dead in the psychology department. Now the hunter has become the hunted. Chloe and two other students in the program band together to attempt to solve this mystery, but can you trust a psychopath?

This book was so much fun! It makes you root for characters with a less than functioning moral compass which can be pretty fun. Writing about psychopathy opens up so many lanes to really twist a story and it is done pretty masterfully in this novel. I did kind of struggle to stay immersed in the beginning but found myself hooked about 25% into the book. This would be ideal for those who enjoy voice-driven stories with less than neurotypical characters. I felt like the ending was at least somewhat predictable but that doesn't so much take away from the overall enjoyment of this novel.

Thanks so much to NetGalley, Park Row Publishing, and Vera Kurian for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

An engaging roller coaster ride with several psychopaths - you find yourself rooting for them, not feeing sorry for them, but somehow you are on their side. Author does a good job portraying the psychopathic personality and how it processes social interaction, definitely an interesting take - and maybe we will see the further adventures of Chloe?

Never Saw Me Coming was a super unique concept for a psychological thriller that I really enjoyed! Definitely a page turner, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing till the end!

Dr. Wyman invites psychopaths into his study in exchange for tuition at American College in DC. They’re kept separate so they don’t know who the others in the program are and they go about their every day lives as college students while completing study activities for Dr. Wyman and not so every day activities like working on a plan to murder someone or only pretending to be a psychopath to get into the program. But what happens when the students in the program start turning up dead? Is someone trying to take out all the others?

I found this book to be very entertaining and enjoyed the multiple points of view, especially the students in the psychopathy program as they try to determine who could be an ally and who could be capable of taking them all out!

There are seven known psychopaths attending John Adams University. What could go wrong?

Chloe Sevre is one of these psychopaths at JAU, there on a full-ride scholarship. All she has to do is participate in some experiments, complete some surveys, participate in therapy, and use a watch to track her mood. However, Chloe has other plans. These plans mostly revolve around killing Will Bachman. But when other psychopaths begin dropping dead at ASU, Chloe needs to set her personal vendettas aside and join forces with her fellow psychopaths to catch a killer. Chloe is caught in a dangerous cat-and-mouse game. But the real question is, who is the cat and who is the mouse?

The description of Never Saw Me Coming hooked me right from the beginning. A book about psychopaths hunting a killer? Yes please! While the concept was great and super intriguing, some of the execution wasn’t quite there. At times, there were too many narrators and too many plots, and this bogged down the story. The main storyline of psychopaths tangling with a killer was compelling, but I wish some of the other storylines had been eliminated.

With most of the characters being psychopaths, it’s hard to know who to trust and it is easy to assume that each narrator is unreliable. Overall, this Never Saw Me Coming was an enjoyable psychological thriller and a great debut from Vera Kurian. 4 stars.

I received a free digital ARC from NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

This was an okay book... It gained my interest early on in the story, but I started losing interest midway. Jumping from one POV to the next without headings was annoying. The only person I found remotely interesting was Chloe. Andre's part seemed irrelevant. Charles was kind of lame. The twist at thr end with the twins was pretty good. I found myself skipping ahead a few times to finish due to it taking so long to reveal the true murder culprit.
