This was a cute concept of a story, I just didn’t much out of it. It was very predictable and didn’t offer much of a difference from other new divorced, single mom, trying start life again books. Skimmed my way through

I enjoyed this book so much! Anytime books mention other books in them, they’re automatically a favorite of mine.

This book was so interesting because it shows how single moms are supposed to be able to handle everything and it was sweet to see other single moms helping each other out. I appreciated how these characters who seemed unlikely to get along became real close with everyone and supporting them through everything.

The hint of romance between one of the moms Stephanie and the Vet was just really sweet and adorable!

The title got my attention! As an avid reader I love when books talk about reading books or being in a book club of any kind. This book does a great job of that but it is so much more. It’s a book about friendship, relationships, overcoming trauma and family. I loved the book from start to finish, the characters felt very believable and the plot is relatable.
Definitely would recommend picking this one up when it releases.

Whether you’re a single mum, a working mum, a home maker, a step parent, this book will strike many a chord! I actually think it should be required reading before being allowed to procreate 😂 Joke! Well, only just a little.

This book captures the challenges of a busy mother in today’s world so perfectly, add to it a breakup, a need to find yourself again after motherhood, the loss of a loved one, the need to protect your children no matter what and the scary, insanely intense and magical moment of falling in love for real and you have an amazing story.

It’s a book of finding strong friendships too when you least expect it, of love and loss, learning when a risk is worth taking, and taking control of your life again.

It was also hilarious. Packed with so many one-liners that had me cracking up page after page. And when I least expected it too, the situation could be super serious or emotional and Steph would think something that had me laughing out loud.

I very highly recommend it, especially to all my mummy friends!! ❤️

“One thing they don’t tell you about having kids is that the toilet becomes a sort of sanctuary of bliss.” This line made me laugh out loud because it's so accurate. Stephanie is a single mother of 3 children, who’s dealing with the aftermath of a divorce and coming to terms with the chaos that is motherhood, money worries and finding work. She bumps into her neighbour in the supermarket after a particularly hard day and they become friends and start a book club.
From page one I loved this book, I even managed to finish the whole book in one day, as a single mother myself I instantly connected to Stephanie and the daily struggles of motherhood. It’s a very easy read that made me smile and laugh a few times. It helps the reader understand what it’s like to be a single mother, trying to juggle everything life throws at you. Beautifully written, I would definitely recommend this book.
Overall rating: 4 ⭐

This was a story of how women are stronger than they think they are. It was nice to see a variety of characters. The ending was good to see too.

The single mums book club has Stephanie a divorced mother of three young children tying and failing to juggle her life and finances. She meets Janey a neighbour and they decide to start a book club to have more time to themselves, also joining in is Amanda a widow, not many books get read or discussed.
Steph then decides to try sort her life out and obtains a job book keeping at a local veterinarian surgery owned by vet Edward, a slow romance ensues, and that’s basically it. I’m afraid I didn’t find any laugh out loud or even very humorous moments, maybe the odd thing that made me smile. For me there was just no depth to this book, we learned very little about the main characters in particular Edward, he said he’d had a wife 3 years previously, what happened? Was he divorced, widowed, any children ? Nothing absolutely nothing about one of the main characters.
Because there was no exploration of the characters this just made the book totally bland for me. It was easy to read and flowed along but by the end I really didn’t care what happened to any of them.
I’m sure there will be others that will enjoy this light read, unfortunately not for me.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

I absolutely loved this easy to read, funny book with warm characters that were so easy to relate to.

Stephanie is a divorced mum of three children, battling through the demands of daily life alongside job hunting.
Janey , mum of 2, with a rocky marriage, lives opposite but a chance meeting in a supermarket brings the 2 ladies close together. They begin to value their friendship and develop a book club for the 2 of them....aided by much prosecco and chatting.
A chance meeting with recently widowed Amanda broadens their group and support of each other.
Alongside this Stephanie manages to secure a job as book keeper at the local vets. Dashing vet Edward appears quite old fashioned as his computer system.
Having had a troubled childhood, with her mum dying when she was only 5 years old, Stephanie is desperate for the traditional family life but fate has not helped this journey.
This cosy book takes you thought the journey of friendship, support and relationships for these 3 central characters, with many misunderstandings along the way.
Highly recommend this fabulous read.

What can I say?!
Stephanie has 3 children and is struggling with the aftermath of her divorce when she comes across a couple of women that become her best friends. We watch Stephanie get her life back on track, get a job, find a new love and most importantly watch the relationship between her and her ex husband blossom to a point they can perfectly co parent. I loved the whole journey and could also relate to Stephanie at some points in the book! Absolute 5 star read for me! thank you netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this fantastic book! Highly recommend!

A fun and romantic read focusing on a woman completely exasperated with her mundane lifestyle and wanting to add some spark by way of joining a book club. A bright sparkle of a read!

This is a fun book about 3 single mums who come from very different walks of life and are each feeling alone and vulnerable until they find each other and decide to form a book club. This will be a great beach read this summer.
Steph is learning how to adjust to a new divorce, a husband who’s a bit of a pain and figuring out finances so she takes a job at the local vet’s office, where the doctor is a hunky bachelor who she has an instant connection with. Although she has always dreamed of the perfect family unit after losing her mother when she was a young girl, she realizes that maybe her husband wanting out of the marriage was the best thing for her and her kids once she starts to find her new normal.
There were several laughs and lots of feel good moments. There were a few more emotional bits, but overall it is a light and fun read.
Thanks to HQ Digital and Netgalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

This was my first time reading one of Victoria Cooke's books, but oh wow I loved it!
What I really like about the book is that the language is so easy to understand, but also well written!

I really liked Edwards charachter and I loved hearing about the animals in the story!

It was a feel good romance, and it for sure made me smile a lot of times!

Stephanie is.now a single mum (she's British) to three kids, and she's feeling lonely. She's feeling lonely and tired of being the only parent who disciplines the kids. Aside from that, she's been a stay at home mom for years and she's now looking for a job having been out of the workforce around a decade. Add in a husband who complains about every dime he has to send her and is always hours if not days to pick up the kids on his days and you'll see where her issues come from. After a grocery store meltdown she meets Janey, followed by a chance encounter with Amanda and the Single Mums Book Club is formed!

I adored this book. The characters were so well developed and the writing was witty, funny, and heartbreakingly serious when it was appropriate. There's also a love story tied in as well, but I can't give too much away. The.friends that were formed and the way they showed up for each other and truly showed how.strong female bonds are gave me hope that maybe ill fins my own book club one day. This is five big stars. I can't wait to read more of her catalog after this one! This will go down as one of my favorites of this year.

Thank you to Net Galley, Victoria Cooke and HQ Digital for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This was my first book by this author and won’t be my last. It was the perfect feel good read and great escapism for the current times. I loved the characters In the book and how they all came together to give each other the friendship and support they needed and how the book group was so much more than that and a life line for these ladies. The book had a mixture of humour and heartbreak and was a realistic story that I am sure many single mums and those with children will be able to identify with

A tale of 3 unlikely friends who form a spur of the moment book club. Stephanie, Janey and Amanda are all likeable in very different ways.
After a stilted start I found myself wanting to get to know the characters better, particularly Edward.
The humour was just right and the story, although fairly predictable, flowed well.
This book would be perfect for a holiday read or when you want something light to escape with of an evening.
I enjoyed it and loved the ending.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for my ARC!

Newly divorced mum of three, Stephanie, is struggling with new lifestyle. She needs a job, money, time for herself... Ex husband seems to not understand her at all and all the friends before divorce are gone.

However, she finds new friends and together they establish a book club. Three ladies with completely different lives provide comfort and laughter for one another.

And finally Stephanie feels butterflies in her stomach again...

Cushy chicklit novel, that every now and then really feels good to read.

This is a story of strong women that don't know just how strong they can be. Loved all the characters and the happy ending is what I needed !

The Single Mums' Book Club is an easy, fun read. The main character, Stephanie, is mum to 3 children and a dog. She's newly divorced and finding life really tough. The Single Mum's Book Club with Janey and Amanda becomes her lifeline, along with a new job at the vets.
We never really get to know Janey or Amanda particularly well, and even Stephanie is not explored in huge detail, though there are some lovely and realistic portrayals of other characters such as Edward and Stacy. A great summer read.
With thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for my ARC.

This is a wonderful book about 3 single mums, who are from completely different walks of life, yet share something in common.....they’re lonely! Once their book club is formed they develop a beautiful bond with one another and become the best of friends!!

This is such a relatable read to me, and while I’m lucky that my hubby is a brilliant dad and husband and is very present, the humour of mum life totally resonated with me, from the secret pleasure of going to the bathroom alone, from the feeling of emptiness when your kids are away for the night!!

I was gripped and I devoured the book in 2 evenings. I couldn’t put it down!! I loved the ending and quite honestly didn’t want the book to end!!

Well done Victoria, your book is an absolute triumph 💕💕
