This was not at all what I expected and I ended up loving it. The characters were great and the story was engaging. So much so, that I finished it in a day. Will definitely recommend.

One of my fav books of the year. I really enjoyed the female character and her independence, especially since she's a woman in science.
I think there were some issues people had with the arrogance and the sexism that goes on in the science community and I felt like the book addressed it in a realistic way. Its very difficult to deal with workplace sabotage, sexism, bullying etc. Its a huge issue which I think the book tackled well.

The spicy content was fabulous. I went and hunted down Hazelwood's novellas as soon as I was finished because I needed more.

The banter and secondary characters were also top notch.
Highly recommend.

Oh, this sweet, sweet love story! It's so easy to fall in love with Olive, with all her tender insecurities and fierce drive. You can't help for root for her in this tantalizing forbidden love/fake dating romance. Adam is such a perfect hero, striking the perfect balance between protective and supportive. Contemporary romance fans will love this one.

This books is simply perfect! It has it all: great chemistry, lovely characters and an amazing setting. I loved every second I spend reading this book.

The academic setting was done so well! I'm currently also in the academic world and it's so competitive. I think Ali Hazelwood pictured that really well.

I loved Adam and Olive, they are just so cute together.

I will definitely be reading more of this author.

The hype with this one was so strong that it took me a while to read it. I enjoyed the STEM aspect and yay for all the Reylo fans.

While I enjoyed the writing here, I found the storyline incredibly problematic. An advisor and a student? Just no. No. I finished it but it was a disappointment.

I read this book in 5 hours. I think that alone speaks for itself, but Ali Hazelwood does magic in these pages that makes you never want to surface for air.

Olive wants to convince her best friend Anh that it’s okay for her to date Jeremy, Olive’s ex-boyfriend. Anh doesn’t buy it so Olive does the first thing that comes to her mind. She ends up kissing the first man she sees who happens to be the intimidating and critical professor Adam. They end up having a fake relationship that benefits them both.

This was definitely one of the most hype romance books ever so I was quite nervous getting in to it. Thankfully I got easily hooked. Olive is awkward, smart, and her determination is very commendable. Adam is grumpy and serious but sweet. The writing is simple and entertaining but I wasn’t a fan of the third person POV. Aside from the romance, I liked the focus on women in STEM and the struggles they’re facing on a daily basis. Embarassing and inappropriate PDA aside, I had a great time reading this book. I can say that it’s worth the hype.

This book was perfection.
I will copy my friend on the fact that I haven't been consumed by a book to the point that I read until 1am a couple nights in a row in a while. This book was just that good.

The banter between the characters was adorable. We can feel that Levi cares so much through tiny little sweet things he does throughout the book. They not only created a friendship but a chemistry, and it was beautiful.

The drama regarding the science and her work in this book is hellllla interesting! I was HYPED!

Rodrigues is the sweetest character ever. I love him. He's an amazing friend and he adores Olive :')

Be ready for the best sex scene I've ever read 😂 Yes, yes. It must be said here. The sex scene is fucking insane!

This is what I have to say 🤷🏻‍♀️ You must read this book. YOU MUST.

Olive and Adam. I loves them! I've decided Ali Hazelwood is now one of my favorite authors. This was such a sweet love story. There were a few parts that were very awkward (and unprofessional) between the characters, but I have fallen in love with her depiction of women in STEM careers and the relationships between people who don't have a lot of experience falling in love (or even dating).

I get the hype! I really loved this one! Women in STEM, navigating academia, fake dating trope, and a seemingly uptight, intense, grumpy man. Ok, so he's an asshole. But of course we see multiple sides to asshole Adam. And then there's little Miss ray of sunshine Olive. Their chemistry was believable and really fun to watch develop. But Holden kinda stole my heart too! I mean, I still had the hots for Adam but probably because that seems to be my type. :D The pages flew by on this one and it was perfect to read on vacation. I did get VERY irritated by Adam constantly calling Olive a smart ass. It literally made me cringe each time. But still highly recommend because I think that's definitely more of a me thing!

Actual rating: 4/5 stars

I really did enjoy this book for multiple reasons. I think this is a solid, extremely recommendable romance. I believe most people will really enjoy this one.

I really liked the characters and they had good chemistry but they're not a standout for me. They did have amazing banter which I loved. The levity of it balanced out some of the more intense topics that were addressed later on. I also liked them together but it is not a relationship I would die for or anything. I love the way the male love interest was extremely protective of the main character as well. The side characters were fun but not characters I will ever think about again.

The writing was very digestible and it made this really quick to read. After sitting on it for a bit I do think this book may be slightly forgettable but a lot of fun at the moment especially. The smut was good but it was just one, long scene, and tiktok made it out to be an extremely smutty book so it just wasn't what I was expecting completely. I also love how this book addressed serious topics for not only women in STEM or grad school but that applies to women in the workforce in general.

I just love the whole premise of this book as well to be honest because I am thinking about graduate school and seeing a glimpse of that was really nice. I have never seen Star Wars but it didn't hinder my enjoyment at all.

Overall this was a solid romance as I said and I think it would be perfect for newer romance readers as well as more seasoned ones too.

I try not to be too critical of romance books, because it's all about the couple and the HEA. But this book was so toxic in their relationship I couldn't enjoy any of it.

This was my type of romance! I loved he slow burn and the anticipation! The only thing that killed me was the miscommunication trope, but anything from this author in the future will be an auto buy!

This was the best book I've read in a very long time! I really loved the whole faux relationships that turn real trope and this one was great.

Olive Smith is a third PhD student conducting promising research in the pancreatic cancer field. Adam Carlsen is a hot shot professor at the same school still waiting for funding approval on research of his own. The two each have their own reasons for wanting to appear as if they have a significant other so of course they agree to date one another for appearances sake. Along the way real feelings develop but neither will come out and admit it.

I felt the initial cause/reason for the fake dating was a bit underwhelming, but once I moved past that I was all in on Olive and Adam. The fake dating trope was done well. I loved Olive's inner monologue/rambling....she felt very relatable. I appreciated that she was a woman in STEM navigating her way through self-doubts in a male dominated industry. What to say about Adam....he may very well be my new book boyfriend! A bit of a grump, he pulled through in the end and supported Olive when it counted. Happy to report that this one has an HEA and one particularly spicy forced proximity overnight stay later in the book. The Love Hypothesis had a great balance of romance and comedy. I'll definitely check out Ali Hazelwood's next book!

I really enjoyed Olive and Adam together. Their relationship was charming and engaging. The writing was fun and approachable and the story was cute.
The Love Hypothesis was close to a five star read. It just gets frustrating when Olive keeps so many secrets. I wanted to yell at her and tell her to be honest with Adam. Also Anh, her friend was annoyingly overbearing and manipulative. Yikes. From what we were shown, I’m not sure why those two were friends at all.
