This is book #11 in the Detective Josie Quinn series, and for me this is the best book yet! Whilst it is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone book. It’s finally the day that Josie gets to marry Noah, but when a young girl is found dead on the steps of the church, Josie rushes to the scene to investigate. This was such a great start to the book! The action begins right at the beginning, pulling you into the story and not letting you go until the last turn of the page! I’ve followed this series from book one, and I love how much Josie Quinn’s character has developed! She’s been through so much in her life, and I was so happy for her to finally be marrying Noah. Of course, happy beginnings don’t make thrilling books, and you just knew that as soon as Josie heard about the little girl, she would be the one to investigate it!

The book takes you on one hell of a ride through the investigation. More murders happen and the list of suspects is growing! I love how the author always manages to keep you in suspense until almost the very end before she reveals who the murderer is! She also has a great way of not giving away any clues, and I found myself wondering who it was along with the rest of Denton Police Force. This story focusses not just on the murders, but a lot on Josie as well. Josie, as we’ve seen in the previous books has had such a difficult life at times and whilst I thought some of her stories were emotional, I have to admit this is the first book in this series to have me in tears!

This is such a fantastic read, with really strong lead characters. I love reading not just about Josie and Noah, but all the supporting characters such as Mettner, Gretchen, Trinity and of course, Josie’s grandmother, Lizette. They all have their part to play in the storyline, with even Chief Chitwood getting a thumbs up from me!! The subject of mental health, particularly around Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, is broached in this book so a warning if this may affect you. It was really interesting to read about though, and was written very sensitively. As usual, the story twists and turns right through to its dizzying end, spinning you around making you wonder which way is up! This is a very good series, in fact it’s outstanding and I can’t wait until the next book to catch up with Josie again! Fab, fab, fab!!

Hush Little Girl by Lisa Regan is the 11th in the Detective Josie Quinn series.

First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher Bookouture, and of course the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Series Background:  (Warning – May contain spoilers from previous books)
Once Acting Chief of Police, Josie Quinn is now doing what she is best suited for. She’s back to being a detective and happy. Her team consists of Detective Noah Fraley (who she is dating), Detective Gretchen Palmer, and Detective Finn Mettner.  Their boss is Chief Bob Chitwood.  She is learning to love her new-found family,  including news reporter Trinity Payne,  as well as her brother Patrick, but it is keeping her busy.

My Synopsis: (No major reveals, but if concerned, skip to My Opinions)
On their wedding day, the body of a young girl is found on the church steps, and Josie and Noah decide she is more important than their nuptials.  Their families are not impressed.

But Josie had met 12-year old Holly when her mother had helped Josie after a car accident.  Josie goes to notify the mother herself, and finds her body in the kitchen.  The hunt is on for the other daughter, 8-year old Emily, who is eventually found in a safe room.  Why did the family have a safe room, and what was burned in the greenhouse?  There doesn't seem to be any paperwork or pictures of the family anywhere.  Who was this family who lived off the grid, who had no friends or social activities outside the house?

Trying to get answers from Emily is difficult.  She has OCD, and was trained to keep secrets from an early age.

My Opinions:
I think this may have been the best in the series so far.

The plot was good, and really well-thought out.  The topics of both OCD and anger issues in children were really interesting..  It was fast-paced and had plenty of action.

On the character side, I still don't like Sawyer, but I'm wondering if things will change now.  I have gotten used to Trinity.   Yes, Josie has suffered a devastating loss, but she is a strong character and will bounce back.  Noah and her team always have her back.  I don't usually enjoy reading about children in my murder mysteries, but I loved the children that were in this book, as all of them were flawed, but all of them lovable.

On the perpetrator side....I did NOT guess correctly!  WTG Lisa Regan!

As always, please read these books in order.

Definitely looking forward to the next in the series.

Another brilliant book from Lisa Regan. I can’t believe we’re on book 11 and the stories are just as exciting as they were at the beginning.
I feel like I know now and was pleased that we with her getting ready for her wedding.
Things don’t go to plan as someone has left the murdered body of a young girl outside the church and Josie and Noah want to investigate.
Josie recognises the little girl following an accident she had near her house, and her mum helped her out.
Josie and Gretchen race to the house but it’s not a pleasant scene.
There’s one little girl missing but after they eventually find her they realise there’s a lot going on in this family.
With Emily being hesitant to trust anyone, Josie eventually builds a rapport with her but it’s clear she’s traumatised by the murders.
It’s clear there’s a few people involved but who is the killer?
Josie, Noah and the team face a real puzzle as there’s so many secrets and lies to work through.
I loved this book and just had to finish it tonight to get the full story.
This is a brilliant crime series that I highly recommend.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

A dead little girl with white eyelashes, creepy pinecone dolls and a lot of twists and turns keep Josie on her toes in book 11.
The book had everything I hoped for and the suspense was insane. There was no break for Josie or for me as a reader. Some of the plot twists were truly unexpected (and heartbreaking) and the identity of the killer remained a mystery until the very end.

I love the relationship Josie and Noah have, they really fit together and Noah is just simply the best. There are so many characters which became important to Josie over time and they all appeared at some point in the book, which I loved.

The book was impossible to put down and I ended up reading the entire story in one evening. Now I can’t wait for the next one!

I would like to thank NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

This book was given to me by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
It's FINALLY Josie and Noah's wedding. But as luck for these two go, the wedding ceremony isn't exactly as they planned.
The body of a 12 year old is discovered on the steps of the church, shortly before the wedding is to begin. Neither Josie nor Noah can ignore the fact that they need to be involved in solving this.
As always, there are hurdles and hoops. The team tries their hardest to shield them and keep them out of the investigation, but that doesn't work out too well.
There is heartbreak, a lot of tears and laughter in this book.
I fell in love with Noah all over again throughout this story. Seeing him through Josie's eyes. The things he says and does just make him the perfect person for Josie.
Josie Quinn is still my favorite series right now.
Thank you Bookouture, Lisa Regan and NetGalley.

Hush little girl is book 11 in the Josie Quinn series. Publication date 14th April 2021

Bravo Lisa Regan what a slam dunk! Just didn't think you could elevate the standard of your writing and then you gave us this!
Josie and Noah are finally ready to marry, bit of course it wouldn't be a big event in Josie's life if a dead body didn't show up right? Hours before they are about to tie the knot the body of a 12 year old girl is discovered on the doorstep of the church. Luckily Dentons finest are all already at the resort to attend the wedding so they are straight on the case. Josie realises she has met the girl before and is increasly concerned about her mother and sisters safety. Safe to say things do not go as planned.

If I were Josie or Noah I would of wanted the wedding as far away from Denton as possible to prevent the possibility of their wedding becoming a crime scene but that's just me. I do love the fact that Josie can't even get married without a body turning up.

This book was styled differently to privous books of Regan's as we don't go between the investigation and the killers inner monologue. It was a breathe of fresh air in the prose and I found myself having zero idea who the killer was. For majority of the book up until it was blindingly obvious suspecting a character who was so fleeting I thought it must be them! Well let's say I was wrong.
Where this book differs in a way to the others is this is more a spree killing rather than a serial killer and that throw me with my own detective work. But not Josie!

I love how over 11 books we have been privy to all the growth each character has achieved over their six years together. This case really centres in on some of Josie's issues which are probably some sort of undiagnosed ocd traits. She bonds with a young witness with severe ocd. I think the writing does credit to how difficult this mental health condition is and how misunderstood it is aswell. We get to see Paige again fleetingly who does a fantastic job at explaining this to Josie and the reader.

Reading Josie's bond with this child made me wonder (not for the first time) why she doesn't just give it a go and have a child. He relationship with Harrison and in the child in this book, just shows us again what a fantastic mother she would be.

This is the first book that had me in tears! I have cram read the entire series over a week and I have grown do attached to all the characters and all their inner relationships, esp centred around Josie. The chief has some cracking one liners in this book and I am loving him even more as the time progresses.

I love the message this series sends us which is family is what you make it and who you make it aswell. Josie had a great professional and personal team. Plus her relationship with Lucette as always Is great to read.

The crime itself is gruesome and there's a creepy doll involved that freaked me out. I suppose when a child is killed its emotive. As a reader for the first time in a while, made me feel uncomfortable, but in a good way.
.

I highly recommend reading this book and if you are new to the series start on book 1! If I could give more than 5 stars I would I felt like I have only just come up for air since finishing this one. Totally worth the read I am a Quinn fan for life along with the rest of her team!

Thank you to netgalley' Lisa Regan and the publishers for the advanced digital copy in exchange for my fair and honest review.

Finally, Detectives Josie Quinn and Noah Fraley are getting married in a matter of hours…or are they? The body of a young girl has been found lying in front of the church where they are to be married. Josie recognizes the young girl as the daughter of a woman who provided assistance to her several months ago. Despite the urging of her family to continue with the wedding, Josie and Noah must check to see if the woman and her younger daughter are safe. When they arrive at the ranch, Lorelei is dead and her daughter, Emily, is missing. This case will stretch Josie to the limit as there are several suspects, including Lorelei’s estranged half-sister, her son who suffers rages that he can’t control, and an angry local farmer and his teen son. Heartbreak continues for Josie who may face the loss of her long-time confidant. It was almost impossible to stop reading as I just had to know what was going to happen on the next page. An amazing and complex mystery as Josie connects the many “threads” of the investigation to expose the killer. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Another brilliant book in the Josie Quinn series, this series just keeps getting better and better if possible. On what should be her wedding day a young girl is found dead at the venue so the wedding is put in jeopardy. A very likeable female lead and her colleagues make for a brilliant read. Although it can be read as a stand-alone I recommend reading the whole series as it is just so good. Can’t wait for the next book.

It’s Josie and Noah’s wedding day and all the guests are assembled. Josie is in her beautiful gown surrounded by the much loved women in her life when a child’s body is found on the steps of the tiny church they are getting married in. Josie recognises Holly, an innocent 11 year old still in her pyjamas and all thoughts of the wedding are forgotten as still in her wedding gown she rushes to Hollys home to find her mother dead and little sister Emily missing. In a house filled with secrets can Josie, Noah and the team find the answers and save Emily.

Josie is getting married!! Or maybe not. Hush Little Girl is number 11 in the Josie Quinn series but reads easily as a stand alone. Josie and her fiancé, Noah are about to celebrate with friends and family when a young, unique girl is discovered dead at the door to the church. The storyline is full of interesting facts, such as how to get through a doorway without getting shot! Noah, Lissette and Emily became so important to me and the turns and twists kept surprising me. It is at times emotional and sad and we see a different view of mental challenges and OCD in children. Josie Quinn is in the middle of everything and she is badassery!! #Netgalley#LisaRegan

Probably the best Josie Quinn novel to date. Lisa Regan has outdone herself with this one.
Josie and Noah are getting married, but before the ceremony a girl is found dead in front of the church where the ceremony is to take place. Josie knows her as her mom rescued her from the side of the road months before. They go to check on the mother and she's dead too. Who would kill these two people who lived a relatively secluded life? Can Josie find the killer before more people die?

I feel like I'm repeating myself when it comes to this series, but that doesn't make it less true... Because the fact is: we all have our favorite series we cannot wait to get back to, savouring each time we get to return to our characters and set up. And the Detective Josie Quinn series has been exactly that for me ever since I read the first book back in 2018. I always feel a little giddy inside whenever the news of another Josie Quinn adventure is revealed, and this series has never failed me to this date. Hush Little Girl is already book number eleven, and no exception to this rule... It's another absolute firecracker!

While technically you could read Hush Little Girl as a stand-alone (each book provides a new and completely separate investigation), I wouldn't recommend it as you will be missing out on significant character background and development otherwise. Trust me, it will be well worth your time reading these books in order! Hush Little Girl has once again a fascinating plot and I liked the focus on Josie's personal life and development as well. It might not be all too credible to have that many criminals and serial killers running around in the small town of Denton, but I’m not complaining as it means more Josie Quinn adventures to enjoy! Things can be said about the credibility in general, but I personally don’t mind as I’m always too busy turning those pages and having fun.

The mental health angle was especially fascinating in Hush Little Girl, with the focus on OCD and other health issues in children. The plot and case itself had many twists and turns and lots of lies and secrets to unravel along the way... And I especially liked reading more about the bond between Josie and the little girl (Emily). As always, you will find a healthy dose of action and suspense along the way, and more than one twist will come as a complete shock. I liked how everything came together in the end though, and I will already be looking forward to my next dose of Josie Quinn. I literally couldn't stop reading until I reached that final page!

In short, if you enjoy a well written, lightning fast and action-packed detective thriller series that just keeps delivering, you should definitely consider a meeting with Detective Josie Quinn. These books are suspenseful, highly addictive and simply exhilarating!

Another amazing thriller by Lisa. This one had me bawling my eyes out!!!!! Without giving away why one thing I seriously enjoyed about this book was the explaining of OCD. To many people these days think they have it because they like having a clean house when really people who have OCD are experiencing their "creatures" who take over their minds if you will. The main Killer was not someone who was on my list of suspects. Once again I highly recommend this book and this series to anyone who loves a good thriller. You will fall in love with the characters! Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for allowing me to read this!

This book had me hooked from the first page. The characters were 100% believable and the twists and turns were intricate. It was refreshing how the chapters followed the story, rather than jumping around between the characters' individual stories.

I am a huge fan of the Josie Quinn series of mysteries. This new installment is another great installment although I will admit that it is not my favorite book in the series. The focus of the story is on Josie and Noah's wedding and the unexpected body of a young girl that shows up on their big day. I was pretty much able to narrow down the identity of the culprit to one of two characters but the "why" took a bit of time to develop. This book is definitely bitter sweet and as always left you wanting to know what will happen next.

Please do not miss reading this book, it is the best story in this series. Josie Quinn is back with the 11th book in this series and it will be published April 14th. This is a very emotional story that will grab you from the first page.. the author deals with a hard subject in a very sensitive way and has done a lot of research in how Dr.s treat patients with OCD. I highly recommend this book and give it a 5 star rating

This series keeps going strong! You can't do much better for a detective series with a strong female lead, a great cast of characters, and always a solid investigation that will keep you turning the page. You can read it stand-alone, but I would suggest starting from the beginning, just because they never disappoint! Keep them coming!

Josie is back! If you haven't read this series you are missing out! Not only is this one of the best series I have ever read this book is one of the best in the series! It is so surprising that book #11 is as great as the start of the series. Most authors I have read that even write three books in a series fizz out by book #3. Josie and Noah are back this time they are getting married or are they? When a murdered little girl is found on the church steps where Josie is getting married it's time for Josie and her team to find out what happened to this little girl. Suspense, thrills and such great characters. I can't say enough great things about this book and this series. Read it! You will be staying up all night because you can't put this book down!!. As long as there is a Josie book I will be reading this series. LOVED!!!!

A pretty standard detective/crime book. I really liked the characters, Josie was a fun protagonist and I also enjoyed the story, I just feel like it used a little too many standard crime book tropes for it to be interesting. The ending was pretty predictable, although until then I really liked how the story went. It was definitely a quick and easy read and I would pick up more books from this author in the future.

Wow I can't believe this is the 11th book in the series. The stories are still going strong and not slowing down.

With everything they have been through, it's finally Josie and Noah's wedding day. Until a dead child is found on the church's steps.

The plot was unique and the mystery was one that would keep you guessing. This is a very well written, fast-paced, page-turner thriller with some tear-jerking moments (I literally had to wipe my eyes). It can be read as a stand-alone but I would read some of the previous books first. I highly recommend reading this series.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Lisa Regan for a copy of "Hush Little Girl" in exchange of an honest review.
