I really enjoyed this book. It took some of the fiery tropes that we know and love from historical romances and created something more complex. The main characters had Ridgeback stories which I enjoyed. But most of all this book was spicy. It definitely is a must read if you love historical romance.

This was such a fun book to read! (Although I had to admit, the cover almost turned me away, lol.) Vanessa Kelly writes such fun romance novels with quirky, unique characters that stay with you long after you've closed the book. I love that she has stayed with the Kendrick clan, fleshing out stories each character in turn. The storylines are always fast paced and easy to follow. The banter between characters is GOLD. A light, easy read and a definite recommend for romance readers!

Hello

Apologies for the late notice, but I have decided not to review this title. While I am certain it's obvious by now, I wanted to also clear this off NetGalley, so it's not showing as open for either of us.

I look forward to continuing to work with you in 2023 and beyond.

I must confess it took me longer than expected to finish this book, but maybe that is all on me, folks. Life has been crazy busy. The verra leisurely pace of this story did slow things down, but I still enjoyed seeing these perfect for each other lovebirds finally admit their feelings/pair off, even though it took them until 65% for their first kiss and nearly the end to become official.

Lawdy, the heroine's 16 year old younger sister got on my nerves. Too much placating, putting up with her stunts, theatrics, and inappropriate crushes allowed to go on to the point of embarrassment, if you ask me.

The crime that had to be solved became more of a pivotal plot than I expected, as well.

So much fun! I love these Kendrick boys and their ladies!

What I loved about this one is that Grant was the one giving Graeme a hard time in the last book, but then this story revealed his insecurities and other internal hangups. I liked his personality before, but all of this gave him more layers and made him even more interesting. Vanessa Kelly definitely knows how make you love her characters!

Vanessa Kelly has delivered a real "corker" in the latest Clan Kendrick series, The Highlander's Irish Bride. This is Grant's story. While he and his twin, Graeme, had been wild boys with many madcap adventures growing up in the Scottish highlands, Graeme and all their older brothers have settled down and married. Grant is bored with his job at Kendrick Shipping and Trade, but is good at making money and has sacrificed his life for his family. All this changes when he first sees Kathleen Calvert, his sister-in-law, Sabrina's cousin. Growing up wild and free in Ireland, her dream is only to return to her homeland. When he is assigned to escort her (and it turns out her stowaway younger step sister), he tries to maintain distance, believing that all she wants is to return to Ireland and that he isn't good enough for her. But when she and everyone around them is in danger by villains, he will risk his life to keep her safe.

Wonderful characters, witty lively banter and the funniest seduction scene I have ever read, make this a very enjoyable read. I read an ARC provided by NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

I never heard about this author before and I didn't read books before this one- but I requested it because I love highlander romances.
The story was easy to read and follow after second half of the book, although I would need more background check on Kendrick brothers! They are sure interesting and funny bunch of men!

At the start I was a bit confused, it was a slow opening but when Kathleen and Grant starts their journey, it become more interesting.

It had elements of surprise and I was guessing till the end, who was guilty for all her "incidents and scandals".

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.

In The Highlander's Irish Bride, the staid Grant Kendrick meets his match in free-spirited Kathleen Calvert. As the daughter of a nobleman, Kathleen should be quiet, and respectable, and care about her reputation as an unmarried lady. But instead, she cares about her family's estate, horses, and having fun. But when a scandal threatens to ruin her, and her younger step-sisters - who she adores - she agrees that time away from London could be a good thing. However, her plan to return to Ireland is scuppered when her step mother instead wishes to send her to Scotland, to be with her cousin, Sabrina, on a remote estate in Highlands. Meeting the Kendrick family, and dealing with a stowaway sister, Kathleen is starting to enjoy herself, but straitlaced Grant both entices her and infuriates her at every turn. Will he be able to prove he's more than a bore, or are they doomed to be apart due to a misunderstanding?

This might be the last book in the Clan Kendrick series - though I hope it isn't - and it's definitely one I loved. Grant is a character I've never really got a feel for in the previous books, but I wanted him to find happiness like his brother's have. Kathleen was a riot, and I loved reading her chapters. She clung to Ireland as a way to remember her late mother, and her father's care was somewhat lax for the most part, so she had more time to be scandalous than would be normal. But, she loved her sisters, and wouldn't want to do anything to hurt their futures, even when they infuriate her like hiding away in the back of a carriage. Some of the scenes between Grant and Kathleen infuriated me, I just wanted them to talk or kiss, but they had some heartfelt moments, and came together in a natural, and believable way. All of the side characters were a joy to read, though Jeannie did grate on me a little at times. Maybe there'll be another book about her and Kade, or Braeden will get a story - I hope so because I love this family!

This is the fourth book in the series, and I recommend going back and reading the first three to fully enjoy all the characters within this book. The characters and world building are wonderful and you fall in love with the story. Kathleen and Grant are both strong characters within themselves but their slow burn romance throughout the book is great. The banter they have with each other is a huge win for me, I love when there is great banter with the main characters.

Book lapsed before I could finish reading. Bummer; book had potential. I like the premise and authorial tone. Wish NetGalley or the publisher left it up longer or with the ability to renew for a full read and review

I love a good highlander historical romance and this one didn’t let me down.
I loved Kathleen’s character and the attraction between her and Grant.

It’s your typical historical romance and that’s why I loved it.

Thanks to. NetGalley and the publisher for allowing an eArc of this book.

The Highlander's Irish Bride by Vanessa Kelly is book 4 of Clan Kendrick series. It is a Regency era romance set in Scotland. This is Kathleen Calvert's story. She is always getting into a scandal so she is sent to Scotland so that her brother can make a good match. Kathleen and her traveling companion , Gillian Penny stop to visit Gillian's family and meet Grant Kendrick who is the bookkeeper for Kendrick Shipping and trade. There is an instant attraction but can a spirited lass and a bookkeeper complete each other? It takes a while to get going but Vanessa Kelly writes a story that keeps your interest. The squabbling between characters kept it interesting.

I have read quite a few books by Vanessa Kelly and I liked most of what I have read so i couldn't wait to read this one.

The Highlander's Irish Bride is such a good read. The romance was slow to develop but that was fine.
Well-written book to kept me entertained.

I give this 4 out of 5.

I thank Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. However, I was unable to finish this book. It just didn't capture or maintain my interest.

This was my first book by this author. I am happy I tried her our. This apparently is one of a series, but that did not by any means dampen my enjoyment. Our heroine is Kathleen. She's the unbeknownst-to-herself-soon-to-be Irish Bride. She is scandal walking--just wrecking havoc wherever she is. Sometimes, this is not even on purpose! Anyway, due to said scandal-making, she is shipped way out of town to let talk calm down. Surely she can stay out of trouble in Scotland? Of course not. Enter the hero, Grant. Ooh how we love those Scottish heroes. I was surprised that he was not the usual Highlander hero and seemed pretty buttoned down to me. It's obvious he needs to loosen up--realize that missing piece in his life is love. Perfect match, and I am glad I stuck this one out. The secondary characters were well written and brought the drama! I am looking forward to others in the series!
