I enjoy reading all the The Millers of Morgan Valley series and other series by Kate Pearce. If you haven’t read one of her books and you enjoy a nice down to home story, you will be glad you picked up this book.

I think this is one that shouldn’t be read as a stand alone. By 10% of the way through I had to stop reading. There’s so many characters introduced in a very short period of time that I had trouble keeping straight who was who. I assume most are from other books in the series so for those who read those books this one would probably make far more sense

This is a great romance for all who enjoy a charming cowboy who sweeps the lady off her feet! A very easy to read story that flows well from beginning to end. This is my first book by Kate Pearce and I will be looking for more in the future.

Sweet Talking Rancher is the fifth book in Kate Pearce’s Millers of Morgan Valley series. Second son Danny Miller has pretty much gotten his life back together since the happenings 17 years ago. But now Faith McDonald, his high school sweetheart, has returned to the valley to take over her father’s veterinary practice. Never really getting over the past, Danny will have chance encounters with Faith around town.

When a mysterious outbreak effects the Miller’s cattle herd, Faith is there working side by side with Danny. As they work to uncover the source of infection and squelch it, they also begin unraveling the events of that fateful summer, the lies they were told, and the untruths they thought they knew.

This is another good addition to this well plotted series. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!

Ms Pearce has done it again with another great book in this series. The characters as well as the plot are deeply complex. Faith and Danny are each so likable, and yet it takes a bit of reading to like them together. Their history is complicated, and slowly revealed, and yet we feel the pull it exerts on them. They want to dislike each other—for some misunderstood reasons—and they also feel the pull of their attraction from the past that was never really resolved. It’s very compelling. They each get you, and keep you engaged from start to finish. There’s multiple conflicts going on in the present part of the story, as well as a big one from the past that is written as a slow reveal. We think we know the story, and then learn a little bit more, then a little bit more still. It’s a really wonderfully written book that just doesn’t quit. There are great ups and downs throughout the book to keep building the story to a very satisfying climax. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. This is my freely given, honest review.

Second chances and forgiveness prove that time can heal old wounds. Rebuilding life one memory at a time to embrace a future they only dreamed of. An amazing part of the series that will wrap you up and never let you go.

Sweet Talking Rancher (The Millers of Morgan Valley #5). By Kate Pearce. 2021. Zebra (ARC eBooks).

Rancher Danny Miller and veterinarian Faith McDonald get a second chance, but they will have to work through unresolved misunderstandings, self-doubt, and biased family and residents of Morgan Valley. I enjoyed Sweet Talking Rancher as part of the series, but I think the resolutions in the previous books were handled better than within this installment. And resolutions were definitely needed, but we only got one with Danny and Faith and it seemed rather out of left field, and we got no insight into the direction Danny will go with his career. The biggest drawback for me though were the revelations about the roles their parents played in the past and their zero remorse in the present. Overall it is an entertaining read, but not my favorite in the series.

For western romance readers if you love cowboys, "Sweet Talking Rancher" is a story that you will fall in love with. Danny and Faith were childhood sweethearts until Faith suddenly left town. It was not common knowledge as to why, so like most communities, they only thought they knew. Now she is back to help her brother with his veterinary practice. As Danny and Faith move on with what is needed for their community, they start to come to terms of their past. Another great story in the The Millers of Morgan Valley Series, it is a standalone read. **I was gifted "Sweet Talking Rancher" via Netgalley, leaving my review base on my reading.** 4.5 Stars!

Sweet Talking Rancher is the fifth title in The Millers of Morgan Valley series, which is a spin-off of the Morgan Ranch series. Do you have to have read all of those earlier books to enjoy this one? No, of course not. But I would recommend each and every one of them for they all are interesting, engaging, fun, and sexy romances that captured my heart and I believe if you love Modern Western Romance then you’d be captured as well.

Although I liked Sweet Talking Rancher it wasn’t my favorite of the series by a long shot. Faith and Danny’s back story is one that will break anyone’s heart. Choices were made, some unwillingly it felt like, and the pain that hovers over this couple to this day, seventeen years later, can still be strongly felt. I’m not going to go into details of that back story because I think it’s something readers need to experience firsthand, not in a review. Mistakes were made, hearts were broken, and lives changed… and they each moved on in their own ways, even if the past is still there to haunt them.

The main focus of their story is the mysterious disease that is running rampant through the cattle on the ranch, and on neighboring ones as well. I think I learned far more about cow poop than I’ll ever need to know in this one. And that focus took the spotlight away from the romance, in my opinion. Parent’s interference in any romance, at any age, annoys me to no end. Faith’s parents really got on my last nerve at one point in this story. In the end, Faith and Danny followed their own hearts into a second chance future together… but it was a rough road to get to that point.

The writing is engaging, as all of Kate Pearce’s romances are, the plot flowed easily, but this time around I simply could not fall for the couple and felt that other factors pushed their second chance romance into second place in Sweet Talking Rancher. Yet, that’s just one reader’s opinion and you may find a far different story than I did. It’s a good book, simply not my favorite of the series.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Another great addition to The Miller’s of Morgan Valley series. I love a good second chance romance. I don’t necessarily enjoy such a long span of the two main characters not seeing each other but Kate Pearce makes it work. 4 stars.

Danny Miller & Faith McDonald were high school sweethearts seventeen years ago. Each one of them are still dealing with the fall out of that long ago break up even though they don’t realize it. When Faith comes home to take over the family veterinarian business. A outbreak of a life threatening cattle disease will bring them together to try and save the ranch. They’ll deal with the past and try to figure out their feelings in the present. Will she give in to the Sweet Talking Rancher?

Sweet Talking Rancher is the fifth book in the Miller of Morgan Valley series by Kate Pearce. She brings together two high school sweethearts who were torn apart seventeen years ago by their parents and circumstances. They’ll come together to save a neighbor’s ranch, try to bring the locals around to accepting her again. They’ve both think they’ve moved on but soon realize that isn’t as easy as they think. Lies, protective parents and promises have emotions running high and the attraction from the past heating up the present. Sweet Talking Rancher brings the reader up to date on the rest of the Millers of Morgan Valley family while concentrating on the main character. Emotions run high through out this book as these two characters try to work their way through their shared past and the emotions of the present that just lead them to the future they thought they might ever have. Kate Pearce brings together these two characters who everyone knows should be together and with some tension and forgiveness gives them a chance at the adult true love they thought they would have all those years ago. Secrets, lies and forgiveness are a big part of Sweet Talking Rancher. The reader will be cheering for these characters. A wonderful modern western romance that will having you falling in love with the Millers of Morgan Valley and have you coming back for more of the series and looking forward to the next book of the Miller family.

This is the 5th book in the series and I must admit that I didn't like this book as much as the others. Danny & Faith broke up 17 years ago (right after high school) and the town has never forgiven Faith for breaking Danny's heart. Really? They are upset that teenagers broke up? And she felt like she couldn't return. So much drama for teenagers that broke up 17 years ago.

I just didn't feel the connection between Danny & Faith - and I really wanted to like this book so much. It's a cute book and it's an easy read, but it's not one where the story sticks with you long term.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I have really enjoyed this series with the Miller family and amazed at how dysfunctional the father is but his children seem to have a better handle on life!

Danny and Faith both suffered a loss and seem like they blame the other so when they talk about their past, secrets come out and yet they still can't agree on anything! Sometimes, they were so frustrating to me but then they finally got their act together.

Along with the romance, there is a bit of mystery as Faith tries to figure out where the diseased cows are coming into contact with the contagious illness. It seemed like they should have been able to connect the dots a bit faster and figure this out but I guess with their emotions so involved that it took longer!

I am glad that their mother is now a part of their lives and they are getting to know their half sister. Hope that there will be more books with this family as they are a great read!

High school sweethearts, ripped apart by circumstances neither of them understood at the time - another Miller man falls in love and reconnects. This is a sweet story that delves into some heartbreaking past issues for Danny and Faith. Kate Pearce has an amazing way with storylines to keep the reader engaged and enraptured from cover to cover, their story is no different. Faith returns to the valley after many years staying away and finds that all is not what it seemed. Danny is hellbent to make her suffer (at first), for breaking his heart years prior, but when they start talking, it's fireworks. Sometimes love is just meant to be.

Sweet Talking Rancher by Kate Pearce is the continuing story in The Millers of Morgan Valley series but can be read as a stand-alone book. This is Danny and Faith’s story of second chance love. They were high school sweethearts but meddling of others made Faith move on. But 17 years later she returns to her former hometown to help with her retiring father’s vet business. This causes her to work with Danny with a mysterious sickness hitting the cattle. Can these two forgive each other for events that happened 17 years ago? This was another great book by Kate Pearce and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
Thanks to NetGalley for giving me this advanced copy for my honest opinion.

They were high school sweethearts and suddenly she was gone never to return even for a visit while he stayed home and worked the family ranch. Now she's coming back. They're both single. Is there a chance for them to rekindle what once was? As the truths are revealed the story is far more complicated than the town believed and second chances perhaps not as easy as might be.
Certainly the parents are the villains of the piece but it's hard not to judge Danny and Faith as they reconnect after so many years. I thought Faith's attitude quite disconcerting in many ways but most particularly about connecting with or meeting the child that she gave away. At the same time I had to admire Faith for her professional integrity and dedication as she battles to save the sick calves and tries to come to terms with long hidden truths of her own life that she never knew.
Danny is a total sweet heart. His feelings have been stomped over by all the adults in his life, it's no wonder that he's quiet and reticent even disappearing in the sidelines of his boisterous and noisy family.
Personally I'm not sure that this is my most favorite books in the series since it seems to leave a lot of questions unanswered particularly about Danny's future.

Yay, another Miller brother bites the dust! What can I say: I like hot cowboys and Kate creates the best stories around them!

After the series on the Morgan ranch, she is now doing a series on the Miller family, who live next door to the Morgan's. And since I had already enjoyed Ben's story in The Rebellious Rancher and Raiden's story in The Rancher meets this match, I was very happy that now it was Danny's turn. Because at thirty five, Danny doesn't think he will ever find a woman to settle down with. And deep down, he knows why. Because of Faith McDonald, his teenage sweetheart. Seventeen years ago their relationship ended abruptly and badly. And Faith never set foot in morganville again. But now she is back, to take over the veterinary practice from her father. Together with her brother Dave, she will be the town's wet.

Faith never imagined coming home again.

And, although her brother warned her, she never expected the town to hold a grudge for nearly two decades. But they do, because Faith left her sweetheart alone and broke his heart. Or so they think. But of course there are more sides to the story. Only Danny and Faith never got to that part. But maybe now they will have the opportunity to talk things through. However, an infection is spreading in the valley and Danny and Faith have to team up to avoid a massive loss in cattle.

And while working close together they both realize that they did make a great team before. can they be a team again? Or will the secrets from their pasts rip them apart? yet another wonderful story of Kate.

Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
