This was a good, easy read. The multiple point-of-view writing is always up my alley. Helen, Serena and Katie have very different personalities and view points. After reading from one point of you, I kept wanting to read more to see what information would be added from the other perspectives. Admittedly, I wanted a little more out of the ending but that doesn't detract from my overall feeling of the book.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Canada for my copy of his book!

Thank you to Simon & Schuster Canada for the ARC edition of Greenwich Park by Katherine FaulknerGreenwich Park!
This was a fantastic thriller and definitely now a top for me in this genre.
What I like most about this book is that for basically the entirety of the novel, I had no clue what the actual crime was. This kept me completely guessing through the novel every time a "hint" was dropped about a person, a situation, a past occurrence ... I couldn't believe they were all perfectly tied together in the final chapter. Faulkner did an excellent job doing this.
The writing was as expected for this genre, for me it was more about the thrill. I did notice quite a few spelling errors and even two parts where a wrong name was used and even a wrong beverage (previously stated making tea, yet set coffee on the table).
All in all, this book started off slow for me as the reader doesn't know the crime, but it eventually picked up for me once I realized I am not going to know what is going on until the end. I found the characters slightly lacked any dimension, but the "what's going on, who did it" factor made up for that. I think it's on par with The Girl on the Train and The Woman in Cabin 10. It was exciting yet lacked characters to connect with and the writing was average.
Thank you Simon & Schuster Canada, this was a quick and enjoyable read. Fans of Chicklit Thrillers will definitely enjoy this book!

Greenwich park was such an intriguing and captivating novel. The character development for both Rachel & Helen had me so invested I could hardly put the book down to go to work!

Twisting and turning at every corner to keep you guessing who’s involved and who isn’t. The last chapter had me focused as everything unsolved only to literally laugh at loud at the end, brilliant. I honestly loved being able to walk away from a thriller feeling mind blown but also so satisfied at the justice served.

Needless to say this book now joins the list of books I stayed up until midnight because I couldn’t compel myself to stop reading and actually go to sleep without an ending was

What a tantalizing read. I definitely did not see that coming.

Greenwich Park is a debut novel for Faulkner that hits all the right spots as a suspense/thriller novel. She definitely has a bright and promising writing career ahead of her!

The story is told in 3 perspectives, mostly in Helen’s view with short interjections with Serena’s and Katie’s views. Initially, as Katie’s viewpoint is added to the story I didn’t quite see the use… but as the plot progressed it became quite clear. I really liked how the plot was told in sequence with the weeks of Helen’s pregnancy, allowing the reader to pace the story with each few weeks of pregnancy, which I hadn’t experienced before in a novel of this genre.

Of the characters mainly featured in the plot, I quickly came to enjoy Katie the most. She is driven, inquisitive, and tenacious, while still seeming down to earth. I found Helen to be a bit of a pushover and I didn’t really vibe with her as much, possibly because of this. Serena felt cold and calculating and too ‘perfect’.

The plot is definitely a slow burn, but you can feel right away that something is really off with Rachel…and you can’t quite figure out what she’s up to. The climax and ultimate plot reveal was INSANE. I was not expecting it at all! It was definitely a very well written novel, and as the reveal came to its close all the pieces fell into place.

Ultimately, a great read! One that will stick with me for some time!

What a great twisty, sneaky thriller this is! It deals out little secrets slowly and evenly, giving one impression of a character only to find chapters later they’re not who I thought they were. I love a book with flawed central characters and this definitely has it. I spent the majority of the read dying to figure out exactly what was going on - and why. So much fun.

Just finished reading this and just woah. My mind has been blown, I didn't see any of that coming at all.

The story started a little slow, building the characters and plot line but it was enjoyable all the same. Around 60% it really started picking up and I felt like I couldn't trust anyone! At one point I thought everyone was guilty.

Throughout I think my favorite character was Katie but I really felt for Helen throughout. Her husband was distant, she had so many pregnancy troubles and just wanted a group of girl friends to call her own. She was a bit "off" but who wouldn't be with so much life trauma.

I enjoyed the writing style as well, especially near the end as everything came together it also felt like everything I thought I knew I really didn't. There were SO many layers. I'll definitely be reading any future books this author comes out with.

This was a fast paced thriller that kept me interested until the last page. It was a tad predictable but that didn't affect my enjoyment of the book. I think it you like "Who-done-it" mysteries then you'll like this one.

I really enjoyed the style and pace of this debut thriller by Katherine Faulkner. The story revolves around the main characters - three siblings and their partners, as well as a mystery character with no background who is introduced into the fold by one of the siblings, Helen, who is pregnant. The story is perfectly paced as the characters develop and the plot begins to reveal itself in quite a dramatic way. I found it hard to put down and could not have predicted the ending. Great read!

What a ride! A great debut by Katherine Faulkner. This is the type of story where your brain is ??? throughout, I mean you’ve got theories, but where is it going to land!? It all hinges on the conclusion, and this one did not disappoint. There were a lot of twists, suspicious (and guilty) people, and I think all of the loose ends were tied up well by the end.

I couldn’t put this book down. It revolves around pregnant Helen, who meets unpredictable Rachel at a prenatal class, and things get .. uncomfortable? I don’t want to give too much away, but your head will be spinning with all the ways the characters are connected, wondering what is going on?! It’s tense. Great domestic thriller!

** Trigger warning: pregnancy loss, abuse, rape, infertility, infidelity, depression

I had a really hard time with this debut novel. I never felt truly connected to Helen. I felt as a women who went to university, who grew up privileged, she was kind of empty, emotionless and too tolerant of how how husband Daniel was always absent. I didn't get a deep sense of grief from the miscarriages. For me, Helen kind of plodded along in her life, making a dodgy friend and generally being a pushover. Katie is the far more interesting character and was a stronger presence for me in the novel. All the characters were lacking for this reader. The interludes from Greenwich Park were distracting and did not add to the story. And the letter at the beginning carries the same date as the letter at the end, so that timeline threw me off.

This is definitely a slow-burn domestic thriller with a few good plot twists to keep you engaged. It is a solid read that I would recommend to any fan of Lisa Jewell. The character development is fantastic, and our main gal, Helen, really carries the novel.

I did find the first half of this book seemed long to me. I was invested in the story but at one point I checked my progress and couldn’t believe I was only at 43%. So much had already happened, how much more was going to happen? Apparently quite a bit. The narrative is very character driven so I still felt compelled to keep reading, just not as voraciously as I normally would with an intense thriller.

The suspense starts to pick up after the 50% mark, and the resolution is satisfying. The twists were not overly easy to spot but enough groundwork was laid so that an astute reader may figure it out before the final chapter (which was also really long).

In summary a solid slow-burn read. As this is Faulkner’s debut, I’m looking forward to her next book.

Well this grabbed my attention right from the beginning and I was honestly intrigued to the end, picking the book up whenever I had a few moments. The story is told from the POV of different people. The writing is excellent and I felt a sense of anxiety for poor Helen all the way through. I did figure out the villain but the end was still a surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed Ms Faulkner’s book and I highly recommend it.

Clear your schedule! You won’t be putting this book down until you finish it. I started Greenwich Park with no expectations. I was drawn in from the very beginning. It’s a fast paced, well written mystery that will keep you guessing until the last page. Do friends and family really ever know one another? I can’t wait to see what Katherine Faulkner will write next.

Right from the opening letter, from prison, to the very last chapter the pace of this book was so fast...getting sucked into the book was instantaneous and I couldn't stop reading. We are immersed into the lives of Helen and Rachel right away...BUT...there are a lot of characters in this book. Daniel is Helen's husband, Serena is married to Helen's brother Rory and journalist Katie is dating Helen's younger brother Charlie. Helen, Rachel and Serena are all pregnant though the book and due around the same time. Interesting, right!? I loved the multiple points of view from all four women and the entire time I was reading I felt that something ominous was about to happen...Rachel was always lurking around every corner, inside and out...creepy!

I thought I knew where this book was going...HA! Here's me thinking I was so smart but Ms. Faulkner had me fooled! I love when the twists are unexpected and surprising. The author has such talent...the writing was impeccable and the characters exquisitely devious...I loved reading about them and that ending was the best. What an amazing debut, I look forward to what Katherine Faulkner comes up with next.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, devouring it in just a day! I appreciated Katherine Faulkner's writing style - "Greenwich Park" was a slow, compelling burn. The thriller aspects kept me totally engaged - new details were exposed every few pages, but none of the reveals felt corny or contrived (something I'm particularly critical of with this genre). I thought I had some idea of where the narrative was going, but the big twist at the end surprised me. Thank you to NetGalley, Simon & Schuster Canada for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very good debut thriller by up-and coming author Katherine Faulkner. I love her writing style. Very free flowing and easy to read! This is reminiscent of a Lisa Jewell type of thriller with its beautiful neighbourhood setting and a bit of a quirky cast of characters.

The story focuses on three couples (who are friends and some are family members too.) Helen and Daniel, Rory and Serena, and Katie and Charlie. Helen is pregnant and goes to a pre-natal class and meets Rachel who is also pregnant and they become friends. Helen brings Rachel into her circle of friends but everything is not as it seems.

This one is full of twists and I could only partly figure it out. It seemed to unfold at the end rather quickly and with force. I really liked the ending!

Helen gets ditched at her first pre-natal class- her architect husband too busy working, her pregnant sister-in-law opting for class at a vegan bakery- and meets unstable, unpredictable Rachel. Rachel is young, fun, pregnant and alone and she triggers Helen's maternal urges. However, Rachel keeps showing up everywhere and demanding more of Helen's attention and soon her friends and family suspect her new friend is not who she says she is. As Helen gets pulled further into Rachel's world, she begins to unearth terrible secrets which threaten to shatter her idyllic little life.

What an exciting debut!! This was a slow-burn type of thriller where you knew something bad was going to happen, but you just weren't sure what. The timeline starts when Helen is 6 months pregnant and follows her, her husband, her sister-in-law, her two brothers, and her brother's girlfriend as Rachel is thrust into all of their lives. Secrets unravel and you think you know, but you don't know. And the twist at the end?! OMG.

I also loved how the house was almost like a character in the book.

Faulkner is definitely an author to watch. Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Canada for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Pub date is Jan 25 2022.

A great debut!
I love it when you get a pre-conceived notion of how a book is going to turn out, only to discover it unfolds in a completely differently way; Greenwich Park was like that for me. This book is like an onion, where each layer reveals secrets and connections between characters and events, both past and present.
The story has multiple narrators, many of the characters are not that likeable, but it works. The plot and pace of the book will keep the reader spinning until the brilliant ending.
