You don't need to read the first book to read this.Even though the characters are the same and it somewhat continues the storylines of some characters..This is a wholesome book that brings some warmth.

This seemed almost like an Abbi Flines novel and for that it's amazing! Thankful to NetGalley for allowing me a copy of this title to read and review.

This is one of the most romantic love stories I've ever read. I fell in love with this couple, who are both students at the same university in Copenhagen. Part of the joy of this book was reading about education and learning in another country. It made me envious of the support system in place for the students, and the focus on applying what they were learning.

Zander is estranged from his father and is no longer financially supported by him. Due to his ex-roommate spending his housing deposit, he is homeless and sleeping on a sofa in the university library - which could get him expelled. Nessa is another student whom he knew slightly through her brother. She surprises him one night when he is sleeping in the library. He is sick, and she ends up offering to let him spend a few days at her apartment. A few days grew into him being her roommate.

There was no instant strong attraction for Zander and Nessa. They spent time getting to know each other and slowly learning about the other's struggles. Both of them had serious life issues to deal with. Nessa is not always comfortable in her own skin, and can't handle too much stimulation which affects every part of her life - noise, crowds, the clothing she wears, colors. She is slowly realizing that she may be autistic. Other than his precarious financial situation, Zander is also estranged from his father, which has created a distance between him and the rest of his family. He is avoiding many of his former friends since they are partiers, and he fears that he could become addicted.

If you love romance, then you should read this book. It was all the better that the couple became friends first. I don't think I've ever seen another couple do this - as they grew closer emotionally, they decided that their friendship was to be preserved even if being lovers didn't work for them. I highly recommend this for any lover of romance.

I received an ARC of this book from Books Go Social through NetGalley. These are my own opinions of the book.

Every now and then I like to try books from a new author. Because you never know what kind of gem you will find.

And this one was definitely a gem. The fact that it was written about an autistic heroine, by an autistic author was what got my attention. With recent up close and personal experiences with autism, I was interested in reading from Nessa's point of view. And Felicia has done a perfect job in giving an insight as to how complicated and overwhelming a regular day can be for Nessa. How she longs to be 'normal' and doesn't want to pretend that everything is fine.

Zander knows a lot about pretending. And he doesn't want to keep up appearances any longer. But after hiding his feelings, and the ugly truth from everyone for so long, he doesn't know how to cope. Only with Nessa, he feels he can relax and that she doesn't judge him. But since she is the little sister of his best friend, she is off limits. A wonderful, slow burn story. Five out of five stars from me and I'll be keeping an eye out for the next part of this series!

All the wrong shelves by felicia Bladel
Oh my God, I am so marrying Zander. He has it all! He was perfect for Ness. Zander made me believe in true love, his actions and words all of them conveyed how much he loved Ness. He did have a past which he got through and changed to be a better person. He thought beyond his family , he cared for people.Zander is a year behind in college than Ness though she is younger than him.
He loved Ness's flaws so much that I felt like it wasn’t even there. He accepted everything about her not just when they started but even after. He remembered EVERYTHING about Nessa .Most of all he respected her privacy and trusted her all the way .
Ness, loves her bubble . She hates everything loud except love I guess. She was the perfect pair for Zander. Her love was books, chestnut trees and handmade games. She got the love and support she deserved from her family and her love was well deserved by Zander. She accepted what came her way and did not let people pity her.She faced it all with all. Ness deserved the new version of Zander. She made him see through his flaws and made him understand and feel the better version he had become. She even helped mending a few of his relationships. Ness= GOLD.
Zander and Ness were meant to be , I cannot imagine them with anyone else. I was so glad I learnt so much about autism.I was told different things about autism but in this book I felt what they go through. The book is so well written , it makes you feel.
A must read.

I'd like to thank NetGalley and the author for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review
This was a cute, emotional read. All the wrong shelves is the kind of book that makes you want to go out and find a library boyfriend lol. This is the second installment in the series but can be read as a stand-alone, I, however, will soon be checking out the first one.
Oh, and they're available on kindle unlimited!

"All the wrong shelves" is a sweet and beautiful love story between Nessa and Zander.

Two people tired of pretending, and feel outsiders, end up leaving together, form a beautiful friendship and fall in love without changing themselves while respecting each other.

A beautifully written book, full of raw emotions with fantastic characters. We see the world how it's for Nessa, who has autism and Zander finally accepting his past mistakes and making amends with those who hurt, but mostly with himself.

This is the second book of a series but can be read as a standalone. I haven't actually read the first one, but l'll probably do it in the future.

I received a free copy and these are my honest thoughts.

** I received an arc via a website for a review. These are my own, honest opinions. **

This is an #ownvoice story, featuring a young woman with autism. It also features a young man with a history of problems with alcohol. This is also the second book in Blaedel’s the without filter series, but can be read as a stand-alone. I read it as a stand-alone, and had no prior knowledge of the world or characters previously.

This book is heartwarming and amazing, a cute feel good contemporary romance. It was cute and honest and raw. When I finished this book, it stayed with me for hours after. I thought about it a lot, even while doing other things. And it put a smile on my face, even if I didn’t have a good day. I felt represented.

The book was beautifully written and has several memorable quotes.
“I think what makes me the saddest is that when the branches are bare, I know for sure that there aren’t little fairies living there.”
“If my library ghost is here tonight, I think he’s reminiscing with a heart that might be heavy but full of treasured memories as he recalls dancing in the moonlight with his long-lost love.”

Being autistic myself, I could see a lot of myself in Nessa. But I could also see that Nessa had gone further on her journey with her mental health. But I could also see that Nessa seemed to have gone further in acceptance and strategies to deal with her autism. I felt jealous. I was jealous for how aware Nessa seemed of her mental health, her boundaries and the acceptance of being different. I struggle a lot it’s being different, and I hope this book pushes me a bit in the right direction.

Felicia Blaedel also managed to put one of my strongest feelings into words.
“I’ll never understand why sometimes I crave a hug so much that I feel like I’ll fall apart if I don’t get it, my body aching for the contact as if the hug is as essential as water or air, and then at other times, hugging is as appealing as going to the dentist.” I feel this, so much. This is the reality I live in.

One thing that disappointed me with the book was also Nessa’s autism. In the description of the book it said that this was a story of “an autistic heroine”. And that wasn’t acknowledged anywhere. I could see and guess that Nessa was autistic from her behavior. Both with the research I’ve done on my own, but also what reminded me of myself. I got an explanation later in the book, but I still felt disappointed.

The pace of the book was slow. I had a hard time getting in to the story, and I found the book slow overall. I started the book, and then I went almost a week without thinking about it. That usually means that I won’t finish the book, and I was thinking about it. What pushed me to give it a second chance was the fact that it was going to feature a young autistic woman. And I am glad I continued to read. About 200 pages in, the pace picked up and I became invested in the story.

I really enjoyed this book about Nessa and Zander.

Zander has come home after the death of his mother and Nessa discovers him bunking in the library one evening. They know each other as Zander was friends with Nessa's brother.
Nessa is struggling with the fact she has autism. Through the book they support each other with their issues and a love story begins.

It is a special story although I thought it a bit slow in the beginning. There is a lot of growth in the characters. Well done.

All The Wrong Shelves is about Nessa, a girl who is having trouble fitting in and finding her place in the world and Zander, a boy who has dealt with emotional trauma by running away from his family and friends and partying only to come back to his home town when his mother passes away. The two happen across each other one night at the library and the love story starts there.

This book is so heartwarming and It's exactly what love stories should be. There is so much depth and growth in both characters and they are two people who you want to root for at all points of the story. I really felt for Zander and Nessa and their struggles. Watching them both find themselves and grow because of the other's support through-out the book was so great. The wholesomeness of this story made it a really refreshing read when compared to a lot of contemporary romances that are popular right now. It's also an Own Voices book, with Nessa initially struggling with a self-diagnosis of Autism.

I'm having a hard time putting into words how great this book is, but I really enjoyed it and think everyone should absolutely pick this one up. There is something in here for almost everyone to relate to, and even if you don't, the relationship between Zander and Nessa is just too good to not read about.
