This is an excellent book to buy yourself in the new year with your Christmas book tokens. It is inspiring, amusing, challenging and the perfect way to start a gratefulness practice. Psychologists have shown that if we find things to be grateful for then we are mentally healthier but how do you start? As Ms Nelson shows in this book, it is simple but it isn’t easy. You need to have a focused and routine system to get all the benefits.

The book has phrases to journal on, bookmarks to keep you centred, ideas of things you can do to bring gratitude into your life and many other things. It is an easy read, it isn’t research heavy, but you know throughout you are in safe hands.

“When you act merely as a consumer, you stop behaving like a citizen who can have an impact with your time, choices, and resources. When you live by your principles and tend what you value, a sense of felt sufficiency frees you up to consider the needs of others and to participate in shaping the world in which you live.”

“No matter what, the love and care you leave in the hearts of others will be what you are remembered for. Love has staying power. Love is transformative.”

Hard to argue against living a principled life full of love. I’d recommend this book if you are new to gratitude exploring or need to develop a focus in your practice.

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley.

Kristi Nelson's THE GRATITUDE EXPLORER WORKBOOK intrigued me from the start. A calm, compassionate perspective undergirds the exercises and the disciplines of the book as well as the quotes, art, and questions that probe further into who you are and what you are doing with your precious time on earth. Where the book does not succeed for me is in haphazard organization, no sense of strong guidance from a trusted authority, and no feeling of progress or of a deepening and broadening I expect from a workbook. I received an early reader copy of this book and this review is my honest, unbiased opinion.

This was a great read for autumn as more people are thinking about gratitude and thankfulness in November. I appreciated the exercises. They made becoming more grateful feel like a practical rather than theoretical exercise.

Wow this is a fantastic book for inquiring gratitude and meditation practices into your everyday life. Since it was an ebook I was really only able to browse but have added it to my wishlist to purchase the physical copy when it releases!

What a super book, although I would recommend getting it in print format rather than digitally. It really is full of prompts to help you live a more grateful life. Well set out and thought through.
Thanks to Netgalley and Storey Publishing for the ARC.

This is one of those books that is better in print format. The pictures are gorgeous but they were cut off from the text, and it was hard to figure out where it should have been. The exercises are pretty good, and easy to follow. I may be picking up a print copy of this one for January of 2022.

I enjoyed reading through this workbook. I liked that there were a variety of prompts, some to keep coming back to, some to do immediately, and some to just reflect on. It was colorful and visually pleasing with motivational quotes nicely displayed through out. I think this would be a good book for someone new to practicing gratitude that doesn't want to feel like they are being talked down to as a beginner.

From what I've seen of the competition, I'm not sure what this book offers that makes it stand out, but I still think it is among the good options for beginners interested in having assistance with their gratitude practice.

This workbook is very useful in practicing gratitude. It really makes you take a step back and think about yourself and put yourself first. Throughout the book there are prompts for you to do. Some are for doing an everyday for a week some are just single prompts for you to sit and be with yourself and focus inward. There are a lot of quotes throughout the workbook that are very motivational. My only down is that, as an ebook, it's not as easy to use as it would be if it was in paperback. This is probably the best gratitude journal I have seen. It really talks to you like your beginner but not stupid.

I like how detailed this workbook is. It’s not just merely prompts to help you be more grateful. It’s halfway between a workbook and a small book on gratitude.

The Gratitude Explorer Workbook is colorful, engaging workbook perfect for anyone wanting to initiate a new routine of exploring giving thanks. The book is colorful, bright, and airy and invites you through each of the pages. There are prompts included on the pages to guide you through exercises to improve gratitude and mindfulness. The exercises are easy to do, and take just a little bit of time, making it reasonable for busy, working moms (like myself) to incorporate into my daily life. I am always seeking ways to improve my life. I can’t wait to purchase my own hard copy of this book. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance review copy in exchange for my honest review. I highly recommend this book.

Wow, this is a beautiful and insightful workbook. I am a little bit of a tough audience, because I like self-help books that are practical, useful, and not overly filled with platitudes. This book hit that sweet spot for me. I am grateful to have found it.

The illustrations and literary quotes about gratitude are lovely, but even more beautiful are some of the insights. Like how to appreciate difficult emotions and feelings, how to gain perspective, how to harvest love and beauty from loss, and much more. Unlike some of the more esoteric self-help books, this one has concrete tasks you can do to practice gratitude. Also, the writing prompts are wonderful.

This book would be perfect as a gift to someone you care about or to yourself. It is useful for anyone looking to increase gratitude in their lives at any time. I think it will especially resonate with writers and people who journal, as well as anyone going through a difficult loss or illness. Filled with true inspiration. My only regret is that I had the ebook copy, as the hard copy version that you can write in and use stickers in sounds even more delightful.

Big thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this unexpected slice of loveliness.

For a while, I have been hearing and reading about the benefits of journalling, practicing gratitude and mindfulness, but have convinced myself that I just don't have time to fit it into my busy lifestyle.

As soon as I saw that this book was available to review I jumped at the chance, and I'm so pleased that I did. The Everyday Gratitude Companion is a really nice book and one that doesn't feel as busy and overwhelming as some others I've seen. The text is broken up with numerous beautiful and thought provoking quotes on a watercolour background. I also found it really helpful that there were only small amounts of text to digest at a time, this was then followed by an interactive element. I really liked how the book showed the reader how to easily transition some of these techniques and ideas into everyday life. There are suggestions of things to think about and things to do, you can then colour in the stars when you have completed the task. Personally, I LOVE books that have things like this, as I can easily see what I have accomplished.

Overall, this is a lovely book - both in terms of how it looks and it's content. I already have this on my wishlist to buy the physical copy when it is released and I very much look forward to filling it in.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for sending me an ARC in return for an honest review.

I've practiced gratitude journaling for many years and this workbook makes a great way to add depth to your gratitude practice. It's interactive and gets you thinking about your life from different perspectives. It's also laid out beautifully and practically, making it great for those who are new to gratitude or those who are looking to revive their experience to something beyond simply listing a couple of things each day.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy.

The Book is visually beautiful, and I can see it being beneficial for many. It's just not really for me.
That's not the book's fault. I have never been able to express myself in a journal, so I thought I would give this a try. ..
For someone who likes to journal, this would probably be a great asset

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a fantastic introduction to gratitude practice and I loved the exercises, quotes, and art that was included.

Every time I’ve been in the hospital, or intensive therapy, expressing our gratitude has played a part in our treatment. Of course there’s therapy and medication management as well, but patients were encouraged to either say or write what we are grateful for. And when you’re in a place mentally where hospitalization or intensive therapy is necessary, finding and expressing is both extremely difficult (sometimes it feels impossible!), but also vital for healing.

I also try to practice gratitude every day. Part of my morning routine is writing three things that I’m grateful, and I try to do it again before going to bed.

This book definitely supplemented my existing practice, and helped me think outside the box in terms of all that I have to be grateful for!
