I know what to expect with this author and she doesn't disappoint with this return to Bluelick Kentucky and a romance between small town (former Military) policeman West and new to town musician Roxy. Though their first meeting sets the stage for some awkwardness (Roxy is hitchhiking and West picks her up as she passes out on the side of the road), as does their living arrangement (Roxy ends up rooming in the same house as West) their chemistry is undeniable and a sexy affair ensues. It's just a question of when Roxy's past will catch up with her and whether she chooses to outrun it or face it head on that will determine whether she and West get their happy ending. It was great to see some familiar characters and this was an enjoyable and steamy read.

I really enjoyed this introduction into this world and I just couldn’t get enough of it. I just so thoroughly enjoyed meeting these new characters and getting to go on their journey. I will most definitely be reading more wonderful books from this author.

What can go wrong meeting someone on the side of the road after your car breaks down?

Well, if you are Roxy and the police officer who stops to help you is West, the real question is what can go right?

This book was fun, it had a connection with the characters, and it was really sexy. Sometimes, what you want in a book is a fun escape and a chance to read a story that you will enjoy, and this book was it.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

West and Roxy are opposites who attract right from the start. A cop and a girl who is running away from her past. You knew where the story was headed the second she was hitching hiking in the rain. Sweet but predicable plot.

I'm on the fence about this one, if we get past the questionable start that doesn't paint West in a good light, his and Roxy chemistry was there, the story was light and fun.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the first Samanthe Beck I have read, and it definitely will not be the last. I loved the chemistry between West and Roxy from the second they met. I can't wait to read both the previous and the follow up books in this series (and all of Samanthe's other books as well)!

This was good and super steamy. Not my favorite but I liked it overall. I will be honest as a cover reader this wouldn't be the first book I pick up. But it was a lot better than I expected.

At first, West's thoughts were troubling. But it improved throughout the book. I loved the chemistry between West and Roxy. By the way, I'm only talking about attraction. It was hot! But Roxy was hiding secrets which West figured out by himself before she told him. And West was not understanding at all. But I think the secret Roxy was hiding was not really something severe. She was just a victim. Besides I hate lies in a relationship unless it's absolutely necessary. I like the fact that others characters from the previous three books appeared as well. Lastly, I really hated whenever West called Roxy with the nickname 'Reckless'. It was a turn off. Ugh! It was an okay read. Neither I hated it nor did I love it. Writing style was okay as well.

Wet and Reckless by Samanthe Beck is a good read.

I enjoyed the storyline, it's well written, entertaining from start to end and watching West and Roxy's relationship unfold kept me turning the pages.

Overall, Wet and Reckless is a good read and a great addition to the Private Pleasures Series.

*Thank you to the publisher via NetGalley for the advance copy.*

I’ve been waiting for Samanthe Beck to get back on the seen and she didn’t disappoint. Hot, steamy and delicious!

Samanthe Beck sizzles up the pages with her latest contemporary romance set in sleepy Bluelick, Kentucky: Wet and Reckless.

Roxy Goodhart is an aspiring singer and songwriter who has had a run of bad luck lately. Having ventured to Bluelick, Kentucky, Roxy hopes to lay low and not draw much attention to herself while she rebuilds her severely depleted LA or bust fund. The small town of Bluelick will surely not offer much in the way of excitement, but Roxy hadn’t counted on arriving in the middle of a storm and collapsing in the strong – and muscular – arms of Officer West Donovan…

Former Navy SEAL West had traded high stakes missions for small town Kentucky. After the many challenges of his previous career, West had been craving peace, quiet and serenity which the town of Bluelick offers in spades – until Roxy Goodhart rocks up in town and ends up turning his ordered world on its head! Roxy’s arrival in town has made West feel things he hadn’t felt in a long time and he plans to give her as wide a berth as possible. However, that quickly proves to be far easier said than done..

With fate keen to throw the two of them in one another’s path, it’s not long before the two of them find themselves giving into temptation. But with West firmly settled in Bluelick and Roxy’s life in LA, will they find a way to make their relationship work? Or is a future out of the question for the two of them?

Wet and Reckless is a delicious opposites attract romance where the chemistry between the two characters is absolutely electric, the humor comes thick and fast and the sensuality and sizzle will have readers reaching for a long tall glass of iced water!

Samanthe Beck’s writing is sharp and sassy and her characters are well rounded and so beautifully realized that readers simply cannot help but care for them and fall in love with them. West and Roxy are smart, intelligent, flawed and believable characters readers will thoroughly enjoy spending time with.

Fun, flirty and fabulous, Samanthe Beck’s Wet and Reckless is a terrific contemporary romance that should not be missed.

Wet and Reckless is book four in the sexy contemporary Private Pleasures series by Samanthe Beck, and it’s filled with the same hot good times as the previous books in the series.

Roxy Goodheart is a musician, but she’s gotten herself into a spot of trouble. Having shoplifted her own guitar from a notorious Nashville pawn shop owner, she’s now hitchhiking, in the rain, on Route 19 outside of Bluelick, Kentucky. Officer West Donovan pulls over for her. It turns out that the pawn shop owners haven’t reported the theft as they prefer to handle things themselves, so finding no warrant for Roxy, West takes her into town. Since the estranged grandmother Roxy was hoping to see had passed away, she ends up taking a waitress gig and renting the diner owner’s spare apartment – which happens to be downstairs from West.

I wasn’t thrilled with the names. Roxy Goodheart smacks of Roxy Hart, from the musical Chicago, and I could never remember if the hero was West Donovan or Donovan West. But the characters are quite nice. I always enjoy a good boy with a dirty streak, which West is, and Roxy is given the backstory of managing an opioid addiction recovery.

This is the author’s fourth book set in Bluelick, and we do encounter protagonists from the previous books, who are slightly generic but not grating. I like that Bluelick manages to have the vibe of a real small town, not an idealized 1950s TV one (the amusing local stoners are a major part of this plot).

The cop hero is a difficult fantasy to navigate in the U.S. these days, and I’m especially put off by books where the cop throws influence around to obtain a happy ending for the heroine. For most of this book however, West’s law enforcement status isn’t relevant – his reminders to people not to drive drunk or leave doors unlocked would have been equally credible coming from a caretaker principal, minister, or EMT (albeit one with a kinky streak). None of the sex has a cop fantasy or occurs on the clock, although Roxy likes to call him “Officer Donovan”. Towards the end, West does use police resources to find the people threatening Roxy, but… they were committing a crime, so I think that’s legitimately his job. If you can’t read police at all, obviously, steer clear, but as cop heroes go, this is a pretty safe one.

But the reason to come to a Samanthe Beck book is the sex scenes, which here are hot and generally well-written. West gets consent from Roxy to be bossy and goes for it. The characters slightly overindulge in dialogue, but that does help us see their personalities.

While this author has yet to break into the DIK ranks here, with three straight B+s, she’s a reliable and consistent performer. If you like hot contemporary romance, Samanthe Beck should be on your bookshelf. If she’s not, you’re missing out.

This book was pretty good! Very sexy scenes but the fact that the conflict could have been resolved by a quick conversation between the main characters was to frustrating for me to fully enjoy the book.

Roxy hasn’t always made the best choice when it comes to the men in her life, both personally and professionally, and her latest experience has only reinforced that opinion. She finds herself on her way to Bluelick with the one item that she holds dear and hoping that it will give her a place and people to call home.

West has always protected other whether it is his current job as a police officer or his past as a Navy SEAL. When he sees a woman hijacking on the side on the road he can’t just leave her there but he soon finds out that once he brings her to town it means a beginning rather than an end.

Roxy and West couldn’t be more different as he has always lived a life of order while Roxy is more accustomed to chaos. The chemistry between them is intense but it is the way they find balance in each other that makes them so good together.

" I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book. "

It took me a while to get into the story and frankly I wanted to stop reading reading several times but I am so glad I did not. When the story finally picked up, it was captivating. Roxy has a wandering soul and is looking for somewhere to call home. From their first meeting, West knew she was trouble. He just did not realized that involved his heart. Can these two souls find their ever after?

This is book 4 in the Private Pleasures series but it can absolutely be read as a standalone. With that being said, yes I read this one before the other-but then I went back and read those as well because I liked this one so much. West Donovan is a former Navy SEAL who is now a small town cop who loves his life ordered and calm. When he comes across a hitch hiker in the rain, he knows that it's going to throw his calm and orderly life into chaos. Roxy Goodhart is an aspiring singer/songwriter who has come to Bluelick, Kentucky hoping to outrun her last mistake. And being as it involves her ex manager and a little bit of grand larceny, she knows she shouldn't be around someone with the police. But when the apartment that lands in her lap throws her into West's path, she can't help following temptation. Even knowing it may come back to bite her in the end.

I loved this book! West comes across as this man who can't abide anything but following the rules, and doesn't believe in grey area's. But he also is a man who has more to him than that. He is sweet, protective, a little bit alpha, but above all-he has a heart of gold. I loved this man. Roxy hasn't had an easy life. But she has this strength of will that I absolutely loved. And when you learn the things she went through and how she managed to get herself out-I loved her even more. She is a sweetheart to the people she cares about but she also has this core of strength that just sucks you in. They have this chemistry almost right the start but beyond that-they also have this rapport that I really didn't expect. I loved it all and didn't want it to end!

This was the first book I have read I the series, but it can be read as a standalone book. This was a quick, fun read full of some steamy scenes! I really enjoyed these characters, and I look forward to reading the other books in the series.

West just knows the hitchhiker saw on the side of the road is going to turn his life upside down in ways he moved to Bluelick to avoid. Roxy's pure trouble wrapped up on a gorgeous package. A musician, a waitress, and someone for whom he's falling, quickly. But when Roxy's past comes calling, will she stand firm and stay where she's come to love? Or will she do what she's always done, and run?

This is fun and lighthearted, with a serious dose of chemistry. West and Roxy are a cute couple of opposites with him helping her learn to trust and her helping him to loosen up and have fun. I can't wait to read the next installment of this steamy series.

Thank you so much to Entangled Brazen and Netgalley for letting me read an eARC of Wet and Reckless! This is the fourth book in the Private Pleasures series and I haven't read any of the other books in the series, but I didn't feel like I was missing out. I did feel like this book was prepping for the next book in the series really well, so hopefully I'm right in my prediction for who that book is going to be about (but I'm definitely not going to tell y'all, because what if I'm wrong haha).

Wet and Reckless 4/5 Stars

Summary from Goodreads:

She’s a walking, talking disturbance of his peace…
When former Navy SEAL West Donovan trades covert ops for small-town cop, he craves calm and order. Rescuing a sexy, law-bending hitchhiker during a rainstorm raises his gut-level trouble detector—plus a few things south of his gut—into the red zone. He vows to help this particular tumbleweed find her way and keep it professional, but when she becomes his downstairs neighbor, professionalism is sorely tested. He’s got red lingerie infiltrating his laundry, sultry songs invading his bedroom, and suddenly he’s the one in need of rescue.
Aspiring singer/songwriter Roxy Goodhart ventures to Bluelick, Kentucky to outrun her latest mistake. It’s a doozy, involving a lying ex-manager, a dire lack of cash, and a teensy bit of grand larceny. Landing in the long, strong, entirely too tempting arms of the law is no way to keep a low profile while she re-builds her “L.A. or bust” fund. Taking an apartment that—oops—puts her under West…er…in his path every day doesn’t help. Testing his impressive reserve is beyond reckless, but she’d love to test it…all…night…long.

This book was... interesting. Like the first maybe 30% was really slow and I had to check the summary to remind myself why I had even requested the eARC of it in the first place, but once the story really got going, it was really easy to get into. I really liked all of the characters- Roxy and West are adorable and we have a really solid set of supporting characters. The romance was very cute and the steamy scenes were very steamy- definitely not living room worthy. Like for sure read this book in a bedroom. I thought the ending was really cute and I loved how the whole town rallied around Roxy when she got hurt in the middle of the book and that was when she finally felt like she belonged somewhere. Overall, once you get past a slow start, this is a super cute, super steamy romance novel that's definitely a fun and quick read with great characters and great series potential. Wet and Reckless came out on May 10th, so make sure you go grab it now!

West is an ex Navy Seal turned small town cop in Kentucky. He meets Roxy after she literally falls into his arms. Roxy is a singer/songwriter looking to start over after her mistakes. The two are instantly attracted and act on it as Roxy ends up staying with West. The couple are around each other often and the desire won't be denied for them. A small town erotic romance.
