No Bed Of Roses…
Action packed tale of families at war. Being the head of a crime dynasty is no mean feat and no bed of roses either but making sure no one else muscles in is harder again. A game of survival and trust is about to begin. Slickly written with credible and deftly drawn characters and a fast moving storyline.

WHITEHAVENS by author Parker Bilal is a novel with a well worn storyline where a hitman ends up at odds with his employer resulting from a botched hit, although in this case it results from the erratic behavior of his young partner assigned to him, as he’s a nephew of the hitman’s boss.

Donny Apostolis is the boss of Brodie, the aforementioned hitman, and Zef is Donny’s nephew that is a loose cannon who creates the situation that winds up with Brodie and the woman he was supposed to target and eliminate being on the run and in danger of being caught and killed by Brodie’s highly capable peers within the organization.

Can Brodie survive against the resources available to his employer, and can he find out what is at the bottom of the apparent frame-up job that’s been of him and possibly the woman he hopes to protect?

Good action novel that while based on a well worn theme still maintains the ability to hold the reader’s attention and provides a surprise ending that makes it all worthwhile.

4 stars.
