The cover is what drew me in initially but when I read that description I knew I had to have it! Lee Willow didn't disappoint either, I really enjoyed this book and the atmospheric writing.

This book has a creepiness to it that kept me turning the pages. Overall, there were to many characters and way to much set up. Nothing really happens until half way through.

I truly wanted to love this book, the cover drew me in, the premise caught my attention as something I would love, the writing is okay...but where is the story?

Things I enjoyed:
The eeriness of the small town life done well
Most of the main characters
The descriptive settings
The Multiple Perspectives

But that’s where it stops. The narrative is such a slow burner which I wouldn’t mind if it led to a fantastic conclusion but it just didn’t unfortunately. Like I say, I really want to love this book but it just fell very short in a lot of areas.

Everything happened so slow and with a lack of direction, it surprises me how confusing was this book to read. The writing style isn't particularly working for me and it just made me feel like reading all run-on sentences. I also felt like the words used in the book did not make sense and were just placed there for the sake of writing something. I was bored all throughout my reading experience with this book.

I loved the cover of this book! I didn’t know much going into it and thought it might be religious horror. Which I love. There wasn’t much in regards to the actual church. It was a more just part of the setting.

This was a slow burn for me. Lots of characters and I couldn’t quite keep them all straight or tell who was a main character and who wasn’t. The first half was very slow and the plot felt a little thin.

The second half was full of action and we finally got to see some revelations as far as the plot was concerned. Again, several of the characters I realized were just side characters. The ending left me a little less dazzled.

I liked Wilma. She was a strong female protagonist. I also really liked Anil. He seemed very genuine and real.

Overall, it was a slow start with a stronger middle full of action. It reminded me of Salem’s Lot in that way.

In a very detailed and atmospheric story about a woman moving to a new town with a vampire problem, this book was difficult to follow and hard to connect with.

The story changes perspective constantly and very suddenly, not really allowing the reader to get to know the characters very well. It’s difficult to care for people you don’t know about. The book was also pretty steady in it remaining one note from start to finish. There were moments of build up before something would happen and then it fell flat again.

It’s very clear where the story tries to be high-stakes and thrilling but I just couldn’t feel any of it.

I’m also not sure why this is labeled as erotica. There’s some sexual content but hardly any at all, which isn’t a bad thing it’s just a misleading label to have.

Just meh. I expect more if I'm going to read supernatural erotica. And this just wasn't it.
Isolated from the mainland, the small town of Lance River is about fight a battle it isn’t ready for. Ellen is new to town and befriends Wilma, as their friendship grows, so does the power of the ancient creature hidden away in the sub-basement of the defunct church only a few blocks away.
Locals are bitten and turned under the blanket of night. The townsfolk sense something they dare not speak and react, fleeing when they can, hiding when they can’t. Neither is an option for Ellen and Wilma, and in order to survive, they must face the terrifying truth head-on.

Did not finish, unfortunately. I was not able to get into the writing, and it came across as more soap opera than horror.

This want really for me, I tried to like this book but I just couldn’t get into it. It didn’t hold my attention. The writing style was great but the plot fell a little flat for me. The concept was interesting but I couldn’t connect with the characters and I kept waiting for something more to happen, or things to be explained a bit more in depth but it never happened.

Thank you to Netgalley & the publisher for providing an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for a review.

Not quite the read I was expecting. Hard top pinpoint why this one didn't sync with me. But I am now aware of the title to promote to my patrons & readers!

This book was okay, I just could not get into it. The writing style was great but as for the plot it just fell flat for me. The whole time whole reading I just kept waiting for something more to happen, or things to be explained a bit more in depth but it never happened.

I don't think this book was really for me because it didn't push the barriers of horror and there were also a lot of POVs. I was expecting a different sort of book than what this ended up being. I would have liked a lot more graphic descriptions to hold my interest. I hope others like the book, though!

After reading the prologue I had high hopes for this spooky erotic tale, but unfortunately was pretty let down. Almost immediately upon getting to the actually story I noticed the descriptions of women were quite off putting. It didn't get any better when throughout the story many of the characters stayed flat, there was no growth, depth or ever personality. Between what felt like a boring story dragging on and on, and the awful formatting from the NetGalley app (since the book could not be moved to kindle, and the netgalley app kept losing my spot and then shifting pages on it's own) I only made it to 60% of this book before deciding to DNF. It began feeling like more of a chore than a book I could get lost in.

Scheduled to post 7/3/21.

Where did I stop? 39% in

Why? By the time I stopped, it barely seemed to be going anywhere with the plot. For more than a third of the book, it was just introduction after introduction of new characters and focusing on their mundane lives with no real semblance of the plot that the blurb teased. The prologue was interesting as all get out. Kind of vague, kind of hazy and dreamy and delirious, but creepy and disturbing. It hooked me. And then the book fell off a cliff. This is not that long of a book, but it was taking way too much time getting to the point of the story for my tastes. The writing itself wasn't engaging enough for me to be sucked into the story at all. The writing was fine, but that's about it. The crawl that the plot was moving at killed it for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC which I received in exchange for an honest review.

I was unfortunately disappointed with this whole book. The cover plus the promise of vampires had me very excited but it just fell flat. It was average. I don’t want people to think the book was awful because it wasn’t but it was just a let down to me.

Some of the main reasons that I was disappointed was because we did not receive very much information or description about the vampires and the attacks by the vampires were lackluster. We would be heading into an attack scene and all of a sudden the attack would be over with no information or detail. All the action was off scene which would take me out of the story constantly.

I guess I was hoping for more Salem’s Lot by Stephen King vibes and that is not what I got at all.

I really wanted to love this book, but it just wasn’t for me. I do love a good erotic vampire novel when it’s done properly. Harvest could be served better by fleshing things out a bit more, though I do understand the authors intent. It was a DNF for me unfortunately.

Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher for this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

I was very curious what it will be, haven’t read a horror/erotica before. While it definitely is spooky, quite a bit, i might attribute spooke lvls to me genuinely being a bit of a wuss. Written in multiple POV, it does scare you, but it doesn’t really do much on being erotica. Not sure what i expected, i just felt it had more potential than it delivered. However it is an interesting read and will give you just enough spook to enjoy it.

Moonlight Harvest by Lee Willow. Due for release October 2021.

I had really high hopes for this book as I love Vampires. This is a but if a retake on what we know about them.

The prologue had me hook line and sinker, a young woman, torn from her bed and beaten by her family to be given to the True Master, as her name has been given by a seer. The Master is Drumskin. A vampire.

The story is described as erotic vampire fiction, but honestly it's not. There is very little spice aside from the vampire feeding from many locations simultaneously including intimate ones.

The story is gory in places, but pretty dull in places also. The story is told from multiple points of view. In present day the vampires attack the Moonlight Coast.

The best part about the book is the retelling and reimagining of vampires.

I was given the ARC by NetGalley for an honest review.

Kind of stuck in the middle with this one. It wasn't bad nor something that I was super enthralled with. Something was just missing for me, but I'm not exactly sure what it was. I wasn't able to connect and the grammar took me out of the mood at times.
