In a fantasy world with a setting reminiscent of Czarist Russia where angels of some sort fall to earth, Investigator Lom is summoned from the far reaches of the country to the capital. The head of the secret police wants him to find a specific elusive terrorist that is likely protected by someone in the government. With the aid of a friendly historian and the supposed daughter of the terrorist, the links are uncovered. But will this be enough to stop the plotting? And what role is the fallen angel playing in all this. An interesting dark mystery that does not quite work out as expected, leaving plenty of space for further volumes in a series.
