Gabriel Orsini likes holidays. He has researched Sunday holidays And when there is no holiday on the calendar it is an unholiday. So the story begins with Gabriel and Piper.

Gabriel is charming and a flirt. He is an Air Force pilot and moves around a lot. Piper works for a tourist magazine, Finding Phoenix, and comes up with an idea, 'A day in the life..' hoping to feature Gabriel in the article. Piper struggles with fears due to loss in her life, so when Piper meets Gabe those fears resurrect. The romance that develops between Piper and Gabe is sweet. The flirty banter was fun. There was a bit too much descriptions about what they were wearing. But Fly Home to Me is a clean, Christian romance story.

I received a complimentary ebook copy from the publisher, through Net Galley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I really love the characters in this book. Piper is such a broken soul at the start. I love her growth. Gabriel is a true hero in every sense. I love the testimony portrayed that God is in the details of our lives and hears and answers prayers. Very well done.

This is a new author for me and I’m excited to read her previously published books. This story is centered on Gabe, an air force pilot and Piper, a journalist who meet and fall in love and overcome obstacles that threaten to keep them apart. I adored these characters, their development and their budding romance. I think the author presented a believable and authentic perspective of how abandonment can be a stumbling block in a person’s life and relationships and how running from the hard situations is never the answer.

This book was absolutely amazing. I am loving this series and can't wait for the next installment. This is another beautiful love story.

This was such a beautiful romance! There is so much depth to the loss and loneliness Piper had felt. I could understand her reasoning behind her decisions and the fears that led to them. Her journey to God was also touching. I’m a fan!

I may be or may not be in love with Gabriel. He is amazing! His sacrifices and willingness to do what’s necessary for others just melted my heart. He also was perfect for Piper.

If you’re looking for a cute romance that will not only bring a smile to your face but make you appreciate the sacrifices of those in the military and their families.

About the book:
Piper has dealt with a lot in her life. With the passing of her parents and brother in a car accident, she is left hurting and with a whole lot of rules to keep herself from getting her heart broken again. That is, until she meets a handsome fighter pilot who makes her rethink all of her rules.
Not only that, but he is the subject for her magazine article she is writing. This book is so cute! I absolutely loved all the flirting. Definitely felt butterflies will reading this one.

I received a complementary advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review. This in no way affected my opinion. It was a great read!

I love this second book so much! It was precious and swoony. I loved how much each character grew in this one and how we saw them fight for what they wanted.

The only thing that was hard for me is one of the friendships. In my opinion, the friend was forgives too quickly for what she chose to do.

Overall, a clean and fun read I would recommend

Let me start out this review saying, this book is one of the best contemporaries I’ve read to date. I loved book 1 in this series, but I am enamored with book 2. I would even say that for me, this is Chalon Linton’s best book she has ever written.

Piper and Gabriel are full of chemistry. I love their dialogue back and forth! The writing of their romance and character growth has left my heart full for days. I love the story they have to tell. As with the first book, I loved all of the Air Force details. The Air Force jargon felt conversational, easy to understand and not forced. I loved the descriptions of Arizona and as someone who has spent more than 10 years in the valley of the sun it was 100% accurate.

There were so many elements woven into this story that has secured this novel to easily claim a spot on my “Best of 2021” reading list. If you are looking for a feel-good, heart-warming story please pick this one to read. Whatever reading mood you are in, this will fit the bill.

Thanks to NetGalley and the author for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.

So... I've enjoyed everything I've read by Chalon Linton and Fly Home to Me was no exception! Loved it! I really love how real the main characters are, I felt like I was reading about real people going through real things and you really get to know the characters! I love the Air Force aspect of the book. It's also just a really fun and sweet contemporary romance, even if it is a little"cheesy". 😉

Consider me Linton’s newest fan!
A clean romance, what what- they do exists! Incredible characters, vividly imaginary, and swoon worth moments all while everyone kept their clothes on!
100% will read every book in this series!

This book was an encouragement to me, as I was reminded of the importance of building relationships. God doesn't always make life simple or go in the way I've planned, but he is constant and puts people around me to help me.

This is a fun, flirty, clean romance. I really love the characters in this book especially the hero of the story, Gabriel. He is charming and sweet and always the perfect gentleman. The romance between Piper and Gabe is sweet and believable. I enjoyed the fun flirty banter between them.

I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to anyone who loves a fun clean romance.

Piper Holland works for a tourist magazine in Phoenix. She meets Gabriel (Gabe) Orsini, an air force pilot at Luke Air Force Base. She is pitching for her work stories highlighting local heroes and Gabe would be perfect. They have just begun dating and he agrees to the article. The book follows her work on the articles and their dating. She has lost her parents and a brother in a car accident and has trust issues fearing people will leave her. Gabe is sweet, goofy, patient and kind.

Overall I enjoyed this wholesome, clean romance. I like that Piper is getting counseling for her issues and trying to connect to a previous best friend. She is also open about seeking help through prayer and attending church (no denomination is mentioned). But I did get tired of all the descriptions of her clothing and the food, food and food. One day after church, she eats pizza, makes P. B. & J. sandwiches for a hike and then returns home to make and eat enchiladas. And although it is a running joke and flirtation point, I've never seen pizza eaten more times for meals. On their first date Gabe has four different pizzas delivered. (3.5 stars rounding up)

Second in a series but I read easily as a stand alone. Thank you NetGalley and Covenant Communications for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.

The one redeeming thing about this book is that it doesn't take long to read and it isn't very involved. I wish I could have liked it better, but it seemed the most important thing in this book was how many times the characters changed clothes and what they were wearing. There really wasn't a lot of character development, although the setting seemed to be fully fleshed out.

Piper Holland is caught in a traffic jam when she sees an Air Force man helping to push a stalled vehicle out of an intersection. When she finally gets through the intersection and to her destination--the dry cleaners--she finds that the Good Samaritan has come to the same dry cleaners to pick up his cleaning. She tries to pay for his cleaning bill and thus begins their relationship. The rest of the book is spent with them getting together with clothing changes in between. Piper does some reconciling with friends and family, but the majority of the book is Piper trying to figure out what to wear. The Air Force Hottie (as he is described in the book) is imaginative about the dates he plans for Piper and himself and that is the best part of the book.

I know this review is rather harsh, but since I finished the book two days ago, I haven't been able to find anything more positive about the book. This is the first book I've read by Chalon Linton, and it will probably be the last book I read by her.

One Star.

I thought that this was an okay book. It didn’t grab my attention like how I thought it would so I didn’t read it all the way through. I admit, I should have given it more of a shot but this is just one of those books that didn’t appeal to me. I liked the description and the cover of the book but I couldn’t get myself to read it more than a couple of chapters.

Its nothing against the writer but for me it’s not my kind of book. But for those who like this genre or kind of book, then I would recommend it.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I had expected there to be more angst in the book, but there really wasn't any. I loved watching the change in the characters and to see the open lines of communication. The book is about redemption and forgiveness. I don't understand the trauma she went through, but I could feel her growth and the love of those around her. I cared about the characters in the book, which doesn't always happen for me. You'll be glad you read this book!

Solid, sweet, quick romance.
Piper has had more than a fair share of loss and goodbyes in her life, and is comfortably building a successful career and single life. But she never expected a tall, dark, and handsome fighter pilot to land in her life. And giving your heart to a military man is a guarantee for saying goodbye.
I devoured this story. I was born and raised in a military family, so the themes were all painfully familiar. Chalon's perfectly captured the setting and developed solid characters. Love it, highly recommend for those who enjoy a fun, flirty, clean, romance with a little more theme depth, but still easy to digest. Clean.
I received a reader's copy, and my review is voluntarily given.

Overall a nice and satisfying read. Having no experience with having family in the military I thought Chalon Linton did very well in a glimpse into this world for readers who are like me. I think she showcased the ups and downs well. I felt Piper was written authentically and believable. Piper had some very much needed growth in this story and this too had a natural flow to it. Even when Piper was struggling I was always rooting for her and liked her as a character. Gabriel was wonderful and provided some sweet, endearing, and romantic moments. I liked the whole flow of the story and it felt natural & realistic. The dialogue was good and the secondary characters added nicely to the book and plot. I really liked how the author set the stage with the descriptions of Arizona and small details like their dress and surrondings and was done smoothly.
Thank you very much to Netgalley for the ARC. All opinions are 100% mine own.

I really liked how Paige and Gabe first meet. I loved how the friendship and romance develops. Paige lost her parents and her brother to a tragic car accident and she is afraid to lose anyone else. Gabe is such a fun ray of sunshine. His enthusiasm for life is exactly what Paige needs. I enjoyed seeing Paige grow as she faces her fears and becomes a better person. This book is uplifting and left me with a warm fuzzy feeling.

Oh. My. Stars. Can this story being any cuter? I finished it within a day, lost a little more sleep than I should’ve. But I’ll let future me suffer because current me is quite happy with my reckless choices.

Just as a heads up, this does have a strong Christian theme throughout that I didn’t expect. I enjoyed it, but I am Christian.

I’m still trying to make up my mind fully, but I think this is a 4.5 stars for me. Fly Home to Me had a bit of a slow movement at the beginning, I think it honestly had more to do with Piper and not the story itself. Piper is struggling through the loss of her parents and one of her brothers. She’s still trying to cope 4 years after their deaths in a car accident and because of this she has some serious commitment issues. Gabriel, however, ummmm. Clark Kent is right. I’m still not sure he has any flaws 😆 he’s so spontaneous, fun loving, SO thoughtful, gives fierce Italian hugs (runs in the family, I’ve heard), and honestly, I change my mind, thoughtful isn’t even the right word for him. Gallantly chivalrous might be more fitting. The orchid part. You’ll know when you get there. That was probably one of my favorite little details of the whole book.

I cried, I laughed, I smiled so MUCH. And! I don’t often cry in stand alones. I know this is part of a series, but you could pick this novel up and read it completely on its own. In fact, I haven’t read the first novel, so I’m cutting this short and going to go grab it now. If Mrs Linton’s first is anything like Fly Home to Me, then I think my husband better be prepared for take out for the next 24 hours...

Thank you Covenant Communications for the advanced reader copy, these were all my own swooning thoughts ♥️

Fly Home to me is absolutely phenomenal and I loved every minute of it! Piper and Gabriel’s story is an emotional and beautiful journey and it felt so authentic. I soared with Piper’s highs and lows, I felt Gabriel’s goodness. I loved the romance, the flirting, and the fun. But even more than that, I loved the underlying faith in God to answer prayers and guide her life. Gabriel’s being a pilot in the Air Force got me all Top Gun feeling and I enjoyed the lingo and things that came along with it. Linton managed to write a beautiful love story packed full of emotion and pain, love and loss, hope and faith. Fly Home to Me felt like home. It felt real and raw. I could connect and relate to Piper and how she felt and what she did. This inspirational Christian romance is one you need to run and buy now. Fly Home to Me is unputdownable! The story consumes you until you have read the very last word. I received a copy of this book for free; all thoughts and opinions are my own.
