The Happy Accidents is a heartwarming story about three women at a crossroads. Each of them thought they had their lives worked out, with careers and family, but in one weekend all of that changes. I loved watching the three women-Jess, Liz, and Chloe—as they transforming their lives into something that brings them fulfillment and joy. Their desires for change are upsetting to those around them, causing ripples as they face numerous challenges. All of their emotions felt real and genuine, and I’m sure readers will find their stories relatable and heart-tugging.

Jamie Beck has written a cutesy story of friendship and self-discovery as 3 women try to figure out what they want from their lives. Sisters Liz and Jess and their friend Chloe are out celebrating Jess's birthday. But when drunken mistakes are made, consequences must be faced. For Liz, it means her professional career as a co-anchor on a popular TV show is destroyed, Chloe gambles and loses, jeopardizing her family's financial future and Jess is still brokenhearted from her recent divorce. As they say, when one door closes, another opens. All 3 women find that maybe that fateful night might accidentally have set them on a course to rediscover themselves.

This was one of those feel-good light and easy beach or vacation reads. I personally found both sisters Liz and Jess to be a bit spoiled and the privilege of their ability to take the time to rediscover themselves was oozing from this story. Chloe's story felt a bit more relatable.

This was my first Jamie Beck book, but it will not be my last! I connected with all of the main characters in some way. This book proves how life is messy, but everything works out.. light and quick read.

Love Jamie Beck and this novel. The Happy Accidents show that by taking a chance you may change your life in the most positive way. I loved the female dynamic and how these women support one another no matter what. Also, showing that sometimes its okay to take a huge leap in life because it could be the greatest decision ever.

This book opens up with three friends having a birthday celebration where their birthday “gift” is a pledge to be adventurous and take chances and new opportunities presented to the. The next morning, there are some regrets. A video of talk show star Liz has gone viral, Chloe has gambled away more than she can afford to lose, and Jess wakes up next to a one-night stand.

Things take a turn for each of these ladies in unexpected ways, and each is challenged in ways they had not anticipated, but will there be happy endings for the 3 friends?

I gave this one only 4 stars because I struggled a little bit with connecting to the characters, since there were 3 competing story lines. I found them likeable, and they each do some growing over the course of the story.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Author Jamie Beck sure knows how to tell a story! The book starts off with a night of celebrating Jessie's birthday at a casino. She has a one night stand, her sister Liz tells off a co-worker in a video that goes viral and her friend Chloe loses a lot of money gambling. These events change everything for these three women! I loved the characters and was cheering them on when they went about making changes in their lives when they really didn't have any other choice. Sometimes "happy accidents" are exactly what you need to make yourself truly happy!

One Night! Just one night, three friends go out to celebrate a birthday and their lives are charged. Jesse, the adventurous one, is at a crossroads. Liz, the proper one, a morning show host, has a seemingly perfect life. Chloe, the stay-at-home Mom, does something totally out of character! Now, all these women will have to live with the outcomes of this one night.

I love a good Jamie Beck book, this one did not disappoint. A little slow at the beginning for me, but I enjoyed the story after I became totally immersed in each of the characters. This book gives equal time to each women’s plight, their friendship and their family dynamics. Loved the character development! A fun read with a satisfying ending!

Thanks to Ms. Beck, Montlake Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC. Opinion is mine alone.

A light hearted read centering around two sisters and their best friend and how life takes unexpected turns to make changes they ordinarily would not make. Life doesn’t always turn out the way we planned it to and it’s a good story of how these gals support each other through it all. Thanks to the author and Netgalley for the ARC

The Happy Accidents is a wonderful read about women supporting women. It follows Jessie and Lizzie, who are sisters. It also follows Chloe, Jessie’s best friend. They go to the casino to celebrate Jessie’s birthday. What happens next is the fall out from that weekend. It’s about how these three women move forward and find themselves even though it might be out of their comfort zones. Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the
E-ARC. This is my own opinion.

The Happy Accidents by Jamie Beck is a beautifully written, optimistic look at the lives of three women, who take control of their lives after facing the difficult consequences of an impulsive night out on the town.

Jesse and Liz Clarke, sisters, along with their best friend Chloe, go out to a casino for a girl’s night out. They decide to live life to the fullest and take on any adventure that comes their way. The next morning, when the fallout of that night becomes shockingly apparent, they find their lives forever changed. This is a story of how these women deal with the consequences of their night out and move on, it’s a story of overcoming fear, and how the fear tests their relationships with each other and their families.

This book does an excellent job of exploring women, and women’s choices when it comes to working, family, and their own aspirations and needs. There are different solutions for each of these women and how they find their own work/life balance.

I found this book to be fast-paced, the alternate points of view between the three women made the book a quick, but thoughtful read. The characters were extremely well developed, and I felt a strong connection to each of these women. The author does an excellent job of describing the fears each of these women face, and how they overcome these fears, each in their own way.

I highly recommend this book to everyone.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A great read. Lovely, believable characters. Chloe and Drew resolved difficulties many couples experience. Hopefully in fiction land Liz and Michael ended up happy. Jess and Stella was a great finale... Wonder if her and Dennis will ever get back together? 10/10

Three best friends make a birthday pact that unintentionally derails all of their lives- each in different ways. Will there be happy accidents for each of them? I liked the references to all the local areas, including Foxwoods, where the birthday pact begins. A fast read - perfect for summer.

Is this book just setting me up to be dying for a sequel?
I need to know more. I need details.
I felt like just when it was getting good, it ended.

It all starts on Jess's birthday - a trip to a casino with her sister and their best friend....a pact made to lighten up for the night and accept adventure.....and all the happy accidents that happen that night. Great story about how one thing might change your entire life. Love the friendships between the girls, how they support each other and their strengths.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC for my review.

Jamie Beck's latest novel explores what happens when three women (2 sisters + 1 friend) let loose for a night of fun and then experience the consequences. The consequences are different in each case but are all life-altering. Jess has always been the free spirit, and at first, she is the least affected and least concerned; however, in the end, she may very well be the one whose life is most changed.
I loved that there was no sense of condemnation by the author for any of these women - no sense of "they got what they deserved". Each situation is handled with grace. Other characters may try to look down on each of these women, but these mistakes, or "happy accidents" as in the title, are seen as pivotal moments that show the character of each woman and not as some tragedy.
I also liked that there was resolution, but everything was not tied up in a neat little bow - there are still problems to be solved and situations that cannot necessarily be resolved. The ending could have come across as unrealistic, but the author skillfully avoided that temptation.
Interestingly, I finished this novel on Mother's Day, after returning home from church where moms were celebrated and after hearing from my own children. The book does a marvelous job of depicting motherhood in all its stages, its choices, and its regrets.
