I wanted to like this one more than I did. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it enough (3.5 stars), but i just didn't 100% connect with the story or the characters. Both Nina and Sebastian were killing me by not talking about what was going on. They were infuriating so connecting with them was hard. But I did like the secondary characters. Sebastian's friends were amazing and I wish there was more of a story for them. I also liked Nina's sister a lot. She had a sort of charm to her that Nina was missing at times. All in all it was a fast read and a good book. Just not my favorite written by these two together on on their own.

I received an ARC and chose to give my honest opinion - thanks NetGalley!!

Hollywood Ending focus on Nina and Sebastian, two college best friends who've been in love for too long - but never dared to admit it. Five years after senior year, they meet again working in a very realistic and tough Hollywood.

First of all, the portrayal of Hollywood was amazing! It was raw and demonstrated that behind a show it isn't all glam and glitter.

Nina's and Sebastian's relationship was rightly interesting and their banter was amazing!!! But I never connected with their story. I was rooting for them but I wasn't thoroughly invested...

I enjoyed it!! I was a fun and cute read but it wasn't more than that...

Nina and Sebastian have a history together, their friendship was strong and then life changed for them both. When Nina and Sebastian are reunited by working together, their friendship returns and they eventually move to a possibility of romance!
I found it difficult to connect with Nina surprisingly, to me the storyline takes its time advancing and there’s a lot of wondering and daring to dream, I was lost due to the drawn out nature of the story. I became frustrated with the main characters and didn’t particularly like the theme of this book, I don’t enjoy reading when the story seems to stop and start.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I read and adored the previous book by this author duo: Ghosting: a Love Story, and immediately requested this one when I learned it was available. I'm happy to report that I enjoyed it just as much. Tash Skilton is right up there with Christina Lauren on my list of favorite co-writers. Their combined writing style is so accessible with witty banter and just the right amount of depth, and their characters are extremely likeable with fantastic chemistry that builds until you're yelling: JUST KISS ALREADY! (although maybe that's me.) In any event, I hope they have another adult romcom planned!

I absolutely and completely loved Nina and Sebastian's relationship. Their mutual pining over each other and their friendship over the sci-fi show was so adorable. However, when the show ended so that their friendship and they ended up turning into strangers. They ran into each other five years later and became friends again and then, lovers.

Kudos to the author for writing such a great love story. The tension and chemistry between Nina and Sebastian could be felt in every page. It is definitely a slow burn, but so extremely cute. Also luckily, the book is told in dual perspective.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for providing me with an ARC of this book in return for an honest review!and

This was a cute story. Two friends, who come together over their shared love of a popular sci-if fantasy show. But both want more than friendship, but are too afraid to risk it. It then the show ends, and so does their friendship. Five years later they run into each other.

I was hooked when I first started reading this book. It was interesting and was dying to know what would come. But then I felt like the story drug on for a bit. While it was still good, it just seemed to me, that it was going slow. But thankfully it picked back up, and I really enjoyed it. The characters have their flaws, and insecurities, but are real, and relatable. As you read, you hope they can overcome their problems, and make things work out. I loved the secondary characters as well. Nina and Sebastians friends and siblings were hilarious, and made the book so much better. This book is definitely worth a read if you love a good, sweet love story with lots of humor. It was cute, and quite enjoyable.

Let me introduce you to my new favorite dynamic duo. The author's writing is flawless. From the first page, not only was I belly laughing at the witty repartee, but I was enraptured by these characters and their story. The authors bring you into the world of Nina and Sebastian and make you feel connected to them. It felt as if I was sitting right there having a conversation, rather than simply observing their story.

The tension between Nina and Sebastian could be felt deep in my bones. My heart ached with each interaction because their chemistry and connection was evident from the very first page. Sebastian and Nina’s relationship was very realistic and spoke truths that were often overlooked in the beginning, especially when there is a lot of pining and history involved. There were a lot of honest conversations that made this book feel authentic and broke down the fantasy love where the focus wasn’t the storybook HEA and that is refreshing to see in a romance book.

This was a perfect book that had all the essentials of a friends-to-more trope, but also had a lot of surprises and depth that could only be provided by these two authors. These characters had my heart, their story captivated me to where I devoured the book in hours, and I was sad when the last page ended. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington for this ARC

A fun read! The relationships are sweet. As expected, the relationships between the main character and any of the supporting ones are relatively 2D, as though forcing the attention to be on only the main characters at all times. It reads relatively fast. It's predictable, but enjoyable, all the same.

This book is heavy on fan fiction and the relationship that the MCs have with fan fic and each other. I was not able to get it to that and had to DNF the book.

⭐⭐⭐
Thank you to netgalley and Kensington Books for an ARC of this book. Opinions are my own.

I read Ghosting last year and was delightfully surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I was very happy to get a chance to read more by this writing team.

This book is told in dual perspective. It's about two BFFs reuniting 5 years after college. Sebastian and Nina bonded over their love of a Game of Thrones type show, but at the finale viewing party, Nina ends their friendship without warning.

Sebastian is a cinnamon roll. He's kind, thoughtful, with gooy feelings and a delicious exterior. Nina, on the other hand is... beautiful. I had a lot of trouble liking her. The authors do a good job of helping readers understand her backstory, and there is a some effort on her part to move past her poor treatment of others. There is a fun group of supporting characters, little sisters, wacky roommates, and bros.

This is a slow burn, but when the two MCs get together, after so much pinning (from Sebastian) their first kiss just fades to black and there's a time jump to the next morning. It was fine, but the buildup follow through when they got together.

There's a clear love for LA (and hate for the traffic!) I feel like I could use this as a travel guide for fun things to do there. If you enjoy rom-coms with only-in-Hollywood work scenarios and a healthy amount of pinning, you will enjoy Hollywood Ending.

A fresh take in the "Hollywood" genre of romance novels.

Nina and Sebastian are former friends and current colleagues bought together again by a reboot of their favorite fantasy tv show that was unceremoniously cancelled. The cancellation of the show also marked the end of their friendship. Now colleagues Nina and Sebastian have a chance to write the wrongs they both made five years ago.

Hollywood Ending is a sweet tale of friends to lovers and I highly recommend you pick this book up. It only receives a three star rating for me as I think the mutual pining trope in romance is not for me. Whilst some readings find it captivating and sweet, I am sat silently screaming "COMMUNICATE".

Tash Skilton has a warm and unique style of writing. The opening chapter of the book sets the scene incredibly well for the rest of the novel and I looked forward to picking up her future work.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC to review.
