Ivy looked quite foolish to the local townspeople. Sight unseen, Ivy sunk all her savings into a very old farmhouse. Except for her dog, Punkin, and her box of baby chicks, Ivy knew no one in the small rural community she would now call home.

Considering Ivy was still hurting from her recent divorce from her cheating husband, it was to her credit that she was able to buy herself a home and embark on a new life. Shortly thereafter, Ivy set out on the drive to a her new life.. She was ready to leave the past behind and start over.

But when Ivy pulled up to her new home, it became quickly evident her farmhouse was in need of quite a few repairs.

In the midst of hard luck, self-esteem issues, and failing businesses, Mary Kay Andrews offers us an uplifting story of people helping people.

The Santa Suit rises as an endearing story steeped in generosity, positivity and love.

This is such a sweet read and reminded me of a Christmas Hallmark movie in book form!

Ivy is recently divorced and buys an old farm in a small town. Ezra, her real estate agent and neighbor, helps her fix a few things up. An old note to Santa, along with some Christmas magic, brings friends and family together for sweet ending.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s press for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

I am a huge fan of Mary Kay Andrews' novels and writing style and was not disappointed with this short read. If you love sweet southern charm, idyllic southern towns and just enough romance to make you do a happy sigh this one is for you. I felt that I was placed inside a Hallmark movie while reading this story. A divorcee decides to move to a small town and start fresh, meets her handsome realtor who is more than willing to help her with settling in to town. Her new home quickly reveals a mystery that needs to be solved and what else do you do with time on your hands. This story gave me so many good feelings, it put me in a happy place for quite awhile. If you are looking for a quick read with lots of happy vibes this is a great book to pick up. I recommend it for fans of Hallmark, chick-lit, romance with HEAs and light mystery. Mary Kay Andrews hit it out of the park again.

This is a lovely story! The plot is uncomplicated and reads effortlessly. That is a great thing when I do not want to have to make a list of the characters in a book as I begin to read, and take all my concentration to follow the story. Being a simple and straightforward is fantastic and I can become immersed in the plot right away.

The characters are developed very well and I became fond of them almost immediately. The plot is unique and I love it. I adore the small town setting, the old farmhouse and the girls (4 chickens). I also especially like to read stories with a character of the older population, so I was thrilled to find one in this book.

This is the first book I have read by Mary Kay Andrews but it will definitely not be the last. I have seen her book covers and wanted to try her books for a while. With so many authors out there, I just have not until this book and I think it is a great introduction to her writing style. I recommend this book and hope others that read it will find some Christmas magic as I did.

I want to thank NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for giving me the pleasure of reading the advance reader copy, with no obligation to write a review. My review is written freely as a hobby, and is totally my own opinion, not influenced by receiving the ARC.

I love reading a Christmas story any time of the year. Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC copy in return for an honest review. Ivys story about buying the old farm house and learning the story about the previous owner and their love of Christmas is the perfect backdrop. The small town and the cast of characters make the story a heart warming tale. The Santa Suit is a must read!

I was intrigued from page one. After Ivys divorce she wants a fresh start, so she moves and starts over. I really enjoyed reading about Ivy and her hunky realtor Ezra. There was some expected parts, which I could see coming. But there were a few surprises along the way. Some twists that I did not see coming. The end was sweet and very fitting. I loved Lawrences' character. He was a hoot. I'm really glad things worked out. I saw the chemistry between Ivy and Ezra from page one, it was leaping off the pages. I hope maybe we can read more about her friend and Cody. I'd love to see how that plays out.

This was the perfect Christmas read! City-girl Ivy is leaving a bad marriage behind her and impulsively buys a farmhouse in the country. She didn't realize how many repairs she'd actually need to do but thankfully her handsome relator, Ezra, is there to help! She, along with her doggie Punkin, make new friends in the community and it's right before Christmas so the setting is so much fun. I totally loved the ending...it all came together just right!

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Starting over after a divorce, Ivy Perkins has purchased an old farm house she intends to restore. She may have bitten off a little more than she can chew, however, as the house is in even worse shape than it appeared. While cleaning out a closet, she finds an old, elaborate, handmade Santa Claus outfit and in the pocket, a letter from a little girl who only wants one thing for Christmas, her father’s safe return from war. Intrigued and touched, Ivy sets out to find out what happened to that little girl and her father, her quest bringing her into her new community and a chance at a fresh start. This is a sweet, hopeful little novella, just what we all need right now

Carolina buying a broken down farm with a fabulous history of a man who played Santa in his community. She finds a child's note in the abandoned Santa suit and embarks on a quest to find the child who wrote it. What lurks ahead is a town filled with new friendships and amazing stories to follow. I grabbed up a "Read Now" digital galley of The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews on NetGalley on impulse, not having read anything by the author before. My sole hope was that it would be a light, fun, Christmas-themed read, and that is what it delivered.

Still recovering from the end of her six year old marriage, Ivy Perkins quickly finds herself with new friends, new experiences, and possibly a new love when she moves to a small town. The discovery of a Santa suit in the old farmhouse she bought sight unseen lends a bit of magic to the story as Ivy becomes more and more involved in the community and traditions of her new home.

Small town traditions, romances, friendships, a bit of mystery, and chickens - this is an enjoyable seasonal novella that throws in a few surprises and is a delight to read. This will be one for the re-read shelf. 3.5stars

Note: This novella was written for the general Women's Fiction market and includes at least one instance of profanity, mentions of past infidelity, and a closed door romance.

This review refers to a temporary digital galley I voluntarily read through NetGalley, courtesy of the publisher. A positive review was not required and these are only my own honest opinions.

I want to thank NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for allowing me to read and review The Santa

After a nasty divorce Ivy Perkins, along with her dog, Punkin, wants a new start and a new location. She finds an old farmhouse and buys it without actually seeing it in person. When she arrives, she realizes that she has a real fixer-upper. Ezra, who was the listing agent, is waiting to give her the keys. She keeps seeing the dollar signs add up as she tours the house, and quickly finds out she will need Ezra’s help, even though she is dead set against it. While cleaning out all of the stuff left in the house, she finds a very nice Santa suit, which starts her on a quest to solve a mystery. The suit, and the accompanying Mrs Claus outfit, take Ivy on a magical journey, helping people, bringing a family together, and even making Ivy’s life a lot more pleasant.

This was a delightful Christmas story which could be a Hallmark movie, except for some of the ‘racy’ parts.

The Santa Suit was completely enjoyable. I adored all the characters and how she pulled them all together in this small country town. No need to wait for Christmas to enjoy this book but it did center around Christmas and the holiday spirit of friends, family and neighbors. It was nice to read something smart and funny and just the tiny bit tearful. Mary Kay Andrews never disappoints. A big thanks to NetGalley for an early reading in exchange for an honest review.
