Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews. This novella is just waiting for someone from the Hallmark channel to make a christmas movie out of it. It was an enjoyable read if a little too sweet.  Usually something happens to derail the obvious outcome but not in this story. All kindness and smiles. Thanks St. Martin's Press for the chance to read this early offering.

Absolutely adorable fun holiday read from a favorite author. She never fails to create a terrific read. This one takes place (stating the obvious I know…) right before Christmas when Ivy and her dog have come to town following the implosion of both her personal and professional life, bought a home sight unseen (never ever do that!!) that no one ever bothered to empty, nothing that works right, does not even remotely resemble the pictures that the real estate agent showed her and just wanting to be left alone to mentally heal and regroup. Then she meets her elders white haired real estate agent who is anything, but and things really heat up. As she unpacks and starts to empty the house she finds a Santa Suit and magic happens. New friends, a new life and all so much more and better than she could have even hoped for. This is a quick read that is so sweet and so much fun. I read it in one sitting and was a little sad when it was done!

The Santa Suit is such a heartwarming story about Ivy Perkins who starts life over after buying a farm that she has never seen in person. She arrives into town and starts making many new friends and connections as she attempts to get her bearings. MKA as always creates endearing characters that seem like real people with real life stories.

Fast read, Sweet story about the magic of Christmas time and belief in magical things. Ivy buys an old abandoned farmhouse filled with everything Christmas, in a small town without ever seeing it in person. A few twists, a lot of love. Read by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate!

I am a MKA fan from way back, so it’s hard for me not to like her books. The Santa Suit is a feel-good Christmas story. Ivy Perkins abandoned her city life after divorce left her jobless and single to build a new life and renovate the Four Roses Farm. Luckily her real estate agent Ezra knew that she would need a lot of help to make the place livable. Finding out that the original owners were the town’s Santa and Mrs. Claus opens the story that then weaves lives from the past and present together. There’s a lot of magic that happens all because of the Santa suit she finds in the attic.

If you want a feel-good read, not one that has a lot of heavy emotional investment, but that simply makes you happy, then this is for you. This is a happy escape, and it truly encapsulates the magic of Christmas. Thanks, Mary Kay for another good read!

This was such a fun book to read! It was a quick and easy read. I really enjoyed the characters of Ivy, Ezra and Lawrence. I enjoyed the significance of the Santa suit and how it all was brought together in the end.

I seriously love this author and have yet to read a book from her that I did not absolutely love. The Santa Suit focuses on Ivy, a woman starting over after a divorce who buys a fabulous farmhouse that winds up being a bit of a fixer upper. There’s also the bonus of this being a Christmas story so we get to see the not only the relationships Ivy makes in her new home grow, we also see some holiday magic thrown into the mix! I think just about every character is a favorite of mine, each in their own way, and I have to say this was one book I wasn’t able to put down! Definitely another fantastic read by Mary Kay Andrews, that I would highly recommend to anyone!

I love, love, love Mary Kay Andrews and I am always delighted when there's a new book to read. I especially have loved her entries into the Christmas genre and The Santa Suit is another perfect novel for that category.

This is a shorter book than her summer novels but it has all of the charm. I would have delighted in a longer novel to be honest, mostly to get to know the sweet puppy better!

There's a little bit of mystery, a little bit of magic and a little bit of romance - the perfect recipe for a Christmas novel!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an eARC copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

What a sweet book! I have been reading a lot of books about WW 2 so was ready for a light, happy book with a happy ending. Don't get me wrong - the main character has her share of trials and traumas to deal with. But it really ended up being a feel good book that I would definitely recommend.

Mary Kay Andrews has done it again, the Santa Suite is a fun, feel-good holiday tale you'll want to read during the next holiday season. The story is centered around a newly divorced young woman named Ivy Perkins who has bought an old farmhouse in a little town in North Carolina. When Ivy comes across a beautifully made Santa Clause suit in the master bedroom closet, she finds an old letter to Santa from a little girl named Carlette. Ivy finds herself identifying with this little girl and becomes determined to find out how Carlette’s story turned out. Add in her adorably hot Real Estate agent/neighbor and her new best friend, Phoebe, to help in her mission, Ivy finally finds the home she has always been looking for.

The Santa Suit is a quick read (a novella) told from a single POV. The pacing flows well and I devoured this book in one day. The perfect holiday read or "Christmas in July."

This novella is a fun holiday read. Ivy has bought a farmhouse that she learns was well-known for its Christmas decor, and the previous couple were the local Santa and Mrs. Claus. As Ivy cleans out closets, she finds the infamous Santa suit, and a handwritten note in the pocket from a little girl who had one Christmas wish. Ivy becomes curious and wants to learn more about the note, about the little girl, and about her father who was away at war.

This story is heart-warming and full of the magic of Christmas.

A feel-good story about new beginnings and the magic of Christmas, The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews, is a charming, quick read. Usually stories that deal with broken marriages have some degree of cynicism, but Ivy, the woman who buys an old farmhouse sight unseen, explains her past but doesn’t dwell on that. Thank you Ms. Andrews!

The Santa Suit is a precious story that perfectly fits in the Mary Kay Andrew's catalog. This book has everything: romance, friendship, predictability with a hint of surprise, a great winter setting, and a precious dog. Perfect to read cozied up next to a fire!

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Mary Kay Andrews delivers snow, sparkly decorations, holiday cheer, a lonely divorcee, a hunky handyman and chickens…yes, chickens…in The Santa Suit, a frothy, feel good Christmas present of a novel.

Andrews has a gift for developing strong yet vulnerable female characters and Ivy Perkins is one of them. Arriving in Tarburton, NC after the loss of both marriage and career, she finds that the farmhouse she bought sight unseen is a few repairs short of charming. There’s a beautiful Santa suit in her closet with a note in the pocket that leads her to a lonely old man and a new friend, the house repairs bring the handyman (and realtor) and a chance discovery gives her the idea for a special project. As Christmas brings the end to this charming and satisfying story, you’ll be left with a smile on your face and the hope that Mary Kay Andrews will bring you more of Ivy and Tarburton. 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press and Mary Kay Andrews for this ARC.

Every book I've read by this author has grabbed my attention right at the beginning so I was not surprised that this captivating, heartwarming story is no different

Ivy Perkins, divorced and ready for a new start, sells everything she owns, loads up her car with Punkin, her dog,  a box with 5 baby chickens, and as many of her belongings that would fit and heads to a small town in North Carolina, where she bought, sight unseen, a house on two acres of land that she considers is a farmhouse.  There is even a barn on the property.  Her realtor Ezra, is waiting for her with the keys to her new home.  Ivy had pictured a white-haired older man,  not the good-looking hunk leaning against a jeep.  Ivy is also surprised the house and surrounding property doesn't match the pictures from the real estate listing. The inside is another shocking discovery when she sees it is full of old furniture, and even old clothes in the closets. With the help of new friends, including Ezra, everything is cleared out,  Ivy has no idea of the impact a box she finds on a closet shelf with a Santa suit will have on her life and that  of some of her new friends.  This is a captivating, heartwarming, delightful story.  I can see it being a favorite among those who enjoy all the Christmas stories that are released during the holiday season.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin Publishing for the advanced copy.  The comments are my own.
