Wasn't expecting this book to resonate so much... I've worked with goddess energy in oracle decks, so the topic of goddess power is something I'm relatively familiar with. Went into this one thinking it might give me a broader scope about goddesses from various belief systems and mythologies.
And while the book did give this, I was pleasantly surprised by the section which explains how each goddess' energy and what she stands for comes to light in today's world. Durga destroys, but you won't go on a rampage- how, then, can you use her energy to harness your own power?
The book answers this for every goddess mentioned, and then comes the part about 'The Goddess in my life' - the author has no qualms being open and candid about her own life and experiences, and how she channelled and harnessed each goddess' power and light in her own experiences and hardships (I especially appreciated the vulnerability she puts down in the page, the authenticity she lets shine - take her or leave her, but she's not here to be a people pleaser for you or any other reader!)
So while the goddesses themselves empower with their life stories and values and stance, Lisa Marie Rankin gives the reader another subtle (or not!) nudge to step into her own and be her own person, her own goddess.
I know this might sound woo-woo to anyone not into this kind of energy, and that's fine. But for women looking to empower themselves from their inner selves, this is a book I can't recommend enough. You are bound to come out of reading it with at least one piece of advice you can implement in your life to empower yourself from within.

The Goddess Solution by @lisamarie.rankin and published by @harpercollinsca is a great book for folks interested in spirituality and well-being.

The author has done extensive research about Goddesses in World religions and mythology and provides insights that we can apply to our own lives. For example, Goddess Kali, from Hinduism is the Goddess of Destruction. When things don’t go according to plan we can assume that the Goddess visited us. As per the author, it seems like Goddess Kali is wrecking our lives. In reality, we are forced to rebuild a better life that suits us.

The chapters in the book introduce Goddesses for sexuality, abundance, relationships, creativity, beauty, family and home, and many more. The structure of most of the chapters are the same, introduction to the goddess, how the goddess plays a role in the current society, what can we learn, a journal and meditation prompt, and the relevant parts from the author’s life.

The book is a heavy read but I enjoyed it since I am a mythology lover. The interpretations of the Indian Goddesses surprised me because of the unique perspectives.

An interesting book about working with goddesses with a different approach and some very interesting ideas.
I thinks it's a thought provoking and well written book.

Goddesses from various traditions and religions are included and each is identified with specific strengths and gifts that you can tap into to improve your life. The life stories of the goddesses are included which really enriches the book. It is a bonus that some less well known inspiring female characters are included too. you will learn how to connect with them through meditations and journaling. The author also includes her own personal experiences and examples which really gives another perspective. It is a very well written and is a very enjoyable, easy read. Highly recommended.

This is one of the growing number of books about goddess, featuring details about their lives and actions, domains they can help with and how to connect with them and bring their energy into ones life.

How is this different from other similar books?

Among the classical, well known figures, it features some less known female inspiring characters and goddesses.

It also focuses a bit on how they are perceived in our times and ideas on how to connect with them, through meditations and journaling, offering great prompts for deepening the understanding of various of their aspects as present in your life, along with mantras and quotes that can reflect the matter.

What makes this book unique is the fact that each goddess is depicted in a very personal note, the author gives a lot of space to her personal experiences and this offer an example and can enrich one's journey (especially for beginners) on connecting with these archetypes / characters.

This subject and connection is one I treasure and I read a lot of these types of books, I believe they are all valuable in their own way. While I like a more detached approached to depicting the goddesses, this book was refreshing and inspiring.

The Goddesses written about are diverse and the guidance/ wisdom reflected in the book is excellent.

The Goddess Solution provides an interesting method of encouraging women to unlock their full potential through the examples of goddesses.

I found this very inspiring and interesting! It was a take on tapping into a higher power that felt relatable in its scenarios where we could all use a boost in confidence.
