I really enjoyed this book from Allison Ashley. While this book was emotional at times I still loved it. I loved Jeni and Logan and was rooting for them from the beginning. I definitely recommend this one.

This is a good read.
Jeni wants nothing to do with Logan. Until, her brother is diagnosed with cancer.
Now then are all on the same team.
Loved it!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.

4.5⭐️

Well this story is about friendship, forgiveness and letting go of your past. It has romance, humor and teary moments. This book mentions infertility once but if that is a trigger for some individuals then I wouldn’t recommend it. It was an amazing story. I love romantic stories and this one did a great job in giving me those romantic feelings. I could relate to the the protagonist about being scare in loving someone when you think you can’t give them everything. And what I mean everything I mean creating a family because that is what society has define. It has define that women need to reproduce but sometimes that is not possible and this book gives a great example of what family is and how we can still help others when we can’t. It talks about letting go of the past that is holding you back and your insecurities. That we deserve a second chance and have others love us. In addition, it mentions about unlikely situations in which a random person can give you all the support you need. It mentions about the struggles that some indícelas experience with an unexpected health decline and disease. And the immense energy, struggle and support family and friends do to support them in this tough journey. I love it. I can’t wait to add it to my personal physical book collection. Thank you.

This was an enemies and sorta friendemies who find love with each other and brothers best friends sister romance. Its not a light reading story as it has a Cancer storyline with it but it was an awesome story and I really enjoyed it. I think its part of a series but I had never read this author before and I did not feel lost in the story even though I had not read the previous book.

I wasn't sure what to expect by the cover and title but this was a romance that I absolutely loved! A little bit of enemies to lovers (the first chapter will have you reeling!) and a whole lotta heart. Jeni and Logan are equally dealing with some dark pasts/demons but somehow seem to keep up this banter and tension throughout the book that throws them into an undeniable attraction that cannot be ignored. I loved the subject of foster care, Jeni's work as a social worker, and Logan's charitable group. It gave each character some depth and a big heart that I wasn't expecting. There were some serious family issues (and illness) that these characters also had to deal with, all while trying to navigate a semi-relationship. Absolutely enjoyed this book, not your typical breezy romance, but so much more.

I really enjoyed this book! The banter was cute and the meet cute at the beginning was great! I liked that first impressions aren’t always what they seem.

This was such a beautiful palate cleanser and exactly what I needed after two thrillers.

Can we just start this by saying how dreamy Logan is?!!!

This was such a sweet story with some good drama that kept me wanting more. I read this so fast. I had to know how it all would work out. I was very happy with the ending.

I hope that Ashley plans on writing a sequel because I would be very interested in reading it and more from this author!

I really enjoy finding new authors I love doing tours and this was no exception. Thank you so much to @katerockbooktours and @authorallisonashley for having me on tour.

Anytime I read a description and see that the book is a sports romance, I'm definitely in. When it involves football, I know I'll just love. Allison Ashley did not disappoint!

I loved the chemistry between Jeni and Logan. I love the plot. I loved their personalities.

A semi-recently divorced Jeni moves to Kansas City for her job as a social worker, which happens to place her near her twin brother Andrew. She ends up meeting a man named Logan, who is an NFL marketing manager that just so happens to be her twin brother's best friend. Logan is sweet, and he is attracted to Jeni's stubbornness. Unfortunately, her jaded divorce makes it hard to open up her heart to Logan. Her brother Andrew gets diagnosed with cancer and needs his sister and best friend's help and support. Logan and Jeni's paths continue to cross, and eventually, they become friends, ultimately leading to more in their hearts.

This is not your typical light summer rom-com read. This book covers many issues, including the relationship between siblings and friends, family issues, foster care, cancer, child abuse, and neglect. While I was not the biggest fan of Jeni's harsh attitude, I could understand her and felt her character was relatable. I adore Logan; I found him to be like an onion. The more layers you peeled back, the more depth came forward.

I do wish the situation with her brother had been given more attention in the book. I felt this was a massive topic of the storyline. Her twin brother was struggling to overcome cancer. But I did not feel it was discussed in any great detail or given the attention it deserved. I also felt the ending was slightly rushed. I would have liked to see more of all of the characters involved and how their lives continued, at least into the near future.

Overall it was a charming read with the most bittersweet moments. It was a fast-paced story and easy to read, filled with funny bantering and some heart-tugging moments. Thank you, net galley, for my ARC!

I loved this book so much. The meet cute was hilarious and I loved Jeni's quick wit. I also loved Logan even if he was a total player and worked for the wrong NFL team.

I have to admit I related to Jeni a lot - especially her hatred of the team Logan worked for because I can't stand them either! But I also related with her in her heart for foster kids.

This book did a good job covering tough topics but also staying lighthearted.

I loved all the little things Logan did for others. I loved what a good friend he was to both Andrew and to Jeni.

I'm so glad Ashley wrote this second book. I love how the story paralleled Andrew and Logan's book. It was really neat to see more perspectives.

I also really enjoyed a book set near my hometown. Reading has me longing for good KC BBQ and a stroll through the Plaza.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Took me a while to get into this one. Seemed predictable, but plot turned around. Turned out to be a cute story after all.

Home Sweet Mess by Allison Ashley was a cute read. I liked the premise of the story & loved the initial meeting between Jeni & Logan.

Jeni came across a bit mean for a good portion of the book which wore on me but everything worked out for a HEA.

The fun banter between the characters lightens up some of the sadder portions of the book.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Home Sweet Mess was such a fun book to read! Logan likes Jeni right away but Jeni wants nothing to do with him. Later finding out Logan is his brother's best friend she realizes she will be seeing a lot of him. When her brother has a health crisis he will need help from them both. We're along for the ride as these two become closer and Jeni realizes Logan is not her ex and maybe he does deserve a chance. I would definitely recommend this book!

I loved the banter between Jeni & Logan!
In #HomeSweetMess, football plays a big role. I love that Logan is a social media manager for the Kansas City Chiefs!! They’re one of my 3 favorite teams!! #GoChiefs!

I enjoyed these two as they worked their way up to being more than friends after a frustrating start Jeni had on her first encounters with Logan.

Loved this & that their texts were a part of the format in the book.
Now onto its predecessor, #PerfectDistraction!

Jeni Bishop has recently moved to Kansas City for her dream job working in foster care, and to be closer to her brother, Andrew. After a series of not so great run-ins with Logan Davis, a marketing manager for the Kansas City Chiefs, Jeni is surprised to learn that Logan is her brother’s best friend. After getting off on the wrong foot, Jeni and Logan continue to clash, particularly over their love of rival football teams. When Andrew is diagnosed with cancer, the two begin spending more time with one another and develop a friendship. They both soon realize that they are attracted to one another, but previous experiences has left each wanting different things out of a relationship. Can they overcome their pasts and find happiness with one another?

Home Sweet Mess is a quick, enjoyable read about overcoming insecurities as a result of your past. If you enjoy contemporary romance, particularly enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, definitely add this one to your summer reading list.
