For me, the anticipation of a new Trisha Yearwood cookbook is like my excitement as a child waiting for the holiday catalog to come in the mail! It’s here! Trisha has again shared lots of delicious, fun recipes. I love how she includes memories about the connection of cooking and sharing food with family and friends. I can see myself doing the same. I’ve already made a list of several recipes to make. I’m especially excited to start with the Blueberry Pie Bars and Blanche’s Sourdough Bread and Starter.

Everyone, it seems, has a favorite celebrity; Trisha Yearwood is very popular, and fans always like learning a little about her. Trisha has released an excellent cookbook, Trisha's Kitchen: Easy Comfort Food for Friends and Family. Not only does this cookbook contain dozens of mouthwatering recipes, but it includes pictures, vignettes, and comments regarding her and her family; it gives the average person some insight as to who Trisha Yearwood really is and her lifestyle. While some celebrities are non-cooks who write cookbooks with the help of someone who really knows how to cook, it is evident in this book that Trisha really is an excellent and innovative cook on her own merits.

The recipes are written in a traditional form, and are succinct and easy to follow. Most are quite easy and can be successfully prepared by cooks from beginning to advanced. There are beautiful photographs of most of the recipes, and the recipes actually turn out picture perfect.

Most would expect basic country or southern dishes, since Yearwood is a country music star, but she has expanded her repertoire to include some trendy and new dishes. The cookbook includes traditional southern dishes as well as some new ones, and a few from her famous husband Garth Brooks (who also wrote the forward). Most readers will find that every time they look at this excellent cookbook, they will add a new recipe or two to their “must make soon” queue.

If you happen to like Trisha Yearwood, you’ll love learning about her actual personality and family. This is a fun, well-written cookbook with recipes that will appeal to almost everyone. It is a fun one to have on a cookbook shelf or to have on display in your kitchen.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

This is a fabulous cookbook full of original recipes from the multi-talented Trisha Yearwood. The Foreward by her husband Garth Brooks is a treasure, and the recipes are an amazing collection that include just everything under the sun. There's even a "Veggie Night" section with an amazing recipe for homemade vegetable stock that everyone needs to try.

The desserts are amazing! Potato Chip Bacon Brownies? Hello! Hundred dollar cupcakes are accompanied by a sweet family story.. Princess Cake looks absolutely intriguing.

There is a Preserves, Pickles, Sauces, and Spreads section which includes Chocolate Gravy and Beth's Peach Preserves. The Breads section includes biscuits, crackers, and yeast bread. Every single recipe in the Chicken, Turkey, and Fish Section looks intriguing. The Beef and Pork Section includes The Party Burger.

I could go on and on. The stories behind each recipe are intriguing and the photos are absolutely gorgeous. This is a must have for anyone who wants to create amazing food served by a friendly host who gives us a glimpse into her life.

I received a free, temporary digital copy of this book from the publishers via Netgalley. However, I already ordered a hard copy for myself. This one is not to be missed. My review is voluntary and my opinions are my own.

Am I bad? I didn't realise the author was a country music famous singer. What can I say, I do know Dolly Parton. But that's it. But I got it for cooking tips. I requested this book because I want to try and live healthy.

The pictures are great even when my attempts didn't look like them. Well they did sort off. You know like at a certain angle. I wouldn't say this is a cookbook for everyone. It has a lot of recipes that I would say are typically American. They are in the serious comfort food area. But hey we all need some comfort food now and again.

What I also liked was the stories of family contained within the book. It sort of added a personal touch.

I liked the book a lot. But I think people with more healthier life style or need things like gluten free this is not for you. Unless you can adapt the recipes. But honestly I like them just the way they are.

Enjoy!

Trisha's Kitchen
Easy Comfort Food For Friends and Family
by: Trisha Yearwood
Mariner Books
Having experienced the pure joy of hearing Trisha Yearwood in concert in Atlanta, Georgia, I can only imagine how pleasurable it would be to gather around her dining table and taste her delicious home cooking! What I love most about her new cookbook is that each of the 125 recipes has a story, lovingly written by Trisha and connected to meaningful people and events throughout her life.
She shares recipes related to her Southern roots and heritage in Georgia, and continues up to her present life in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband, Garth Brooks. Treasured moments in time with family, friends, neighbors, and music industry relationships are captured throughout the book. Anecdotes about altruistic projects, music touring on the road, restaurants, cities, and even peach orchards all relate to her appreciation for food and the dishes she gives us. Recipes include those that are her own, those of others, and her adaptions of favorite dishes she has had over the years.
Cooks will appreciate the diversity of her recipe collection, covering breakfast, sweets, and everything in between! Detailed instructions are given, along with Trisha's Tips. The book is educational, with facts presented about ingredients. Lovely photos showcase both the completed dishes and the sharing of them with important people in Trisha's life. Not only is Southern cooking covered, but also other ethnicities such as Greek and Italian. I especially want to try a favorite of her husband, served in a bowl and featuring pineapple! Just like Trisha's songs, her food is meant to be savored and shared.
Thank you to Net Galley and Mariner Books for the Advance Reader's Copy and opportunity to provide my unbiased review.

I’m a huge fan of Trishas music, her cookbooks loaded with goodness that include stories behind her recipes, and her cooking show, Trishas Southern Cooking. There’s nothing better than a good southern recipe done right. Trisha’s Kitchen does just that. These recipes are quick ‘n easy, with most ingredients readily found in your pantry — perfect for busy mom’s like me.

I gave the Garth’s Breakfast Lasagna recipe a try for a recent Sunday brunch, and it was a big hit with everyone. All you wing eaters out there, listen up. You MUST TRY the Bread-And-Butter-Pickle-Brined Wings — these are the real deal, chefs kiss. We loved the Company Chicken (I split recipe in half) and have added it in my monthly meal rotation. All three recipes can be found inside this cookbook.

Many of Trisha’s recipes are family favorites I cook on repeat. Garth’s Taco Pizza (found in Trisha’s Table) is one recipe in particular that’s been passed through the family and friends grapevine — everyone loves it (even our picky eaters!) and that it’s super simple doesn’t hurt either. 😉

Inside Trisha’s Kitchen cookbook you’ll find mouthwatering photos of her dishes, sweet and savory breakfast recipes for any meal of the day, and even a VEGETARIAN chapter for those trying to eat healthier. There’s also Trisha’s tips, useful equipment and substitutions, and it even includes some recipes with step-by-step photo instructions. And of course “Trisha’s signature stories behind her recipes” are inside too.

Trisha’s Kitchen is all about good ‘ole southern stories, delicious down-home-cooked southern food, and her passion for family, friends and sit down dinners. I’m enjoying trying the recipes, I’m sure you will too!

I liked this cookbook. The visuals are attractive and the recipes ample. Some entertaining quips and colorful family and friend photos add a lot of charm and genuineness to this book and that really lets the author's personality show through. This is a really good, all around comfort food cookbook that has a bit of a southern twist to it. There is a wide variety of recipes offered that cover an array of needs. Whether you are looking for meal ideas, snacks or sweet treats, this book has you covered. There are even a few jam, jelly, pickles and preserves recipes. I loved that this book delivered what it promised. These are down home, family type recipes that I know I'll be tempted to try and will more than likely enjoy. So far I have enjoyed the Chicken Pot Pie Burgers, which were unique and tasty, the Ricotta Tartlets, which were delicious and The Nashville Hot Chicken Meatball Sliders, which were a huge hit.

This is more than a cookbook, Trisha Yearwood, gives us comfort food, tells us the story behind it, and shares her love of cooking.
The recipes, are easy to follow, and each one has a picture. It is down home cooking, and I am not from the south, but I enjoyed trying some recipes, and my family enjoyed eating them It wasn't about perfection, it was just having fun being together. As we begin to bring family, friends and neighbors into our kitchens once again, this will be a welcome addition to my kitchen.
I received an ARC from Mariner Books through NetGalley.

I have a weakness for reading cookbooks and this one really shines! It is full of scrumptious foods and beautiful photos. There are intros written at the beginning of all the recipes where Trisha talks about why this dish is special to her, which family member started the tradition, or how she made it her own. She makes you feel like you could be sitting on the barstool in her kitchen watching her cook.

There are so many yummy foods to try like Breakfast Lasagna, Blueberry Pancake Cake, Chicken Pot Pie Burgers, or Banana Split Nachos and so much more! I am preordering my hard copy of this beautiful and well laid out cookbook filled with recipes I look forward to preparing. Well done Trisha! Thank you to Netgalley, Mariner Books, and Trisha Yearwood for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is an excellent cookbook, I’ll be buying a physical copy when it comes out. Trisha Yearwood is a well known country music star married to another country star, Garth Brooks, and she has a show on the Food Network. Her recipes are easy to understand and make, they are mostly Southern style suitable for the home cook of any proficiency level. Every recipe has a picture. Don’t read this book on an empty stomach, you’ll be hungry immediately!

A few of the recipes that caught my eye: Garth’s Breakfast Lasagna, Ricotta Tartlets with Cherry Tomatoes, Company Chicken, Herbed Foccacia, and Pear Charlotte.

I highly recommend this book, 5 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

This book had so many good recipes to try! I didn't know where to start. I made the cinnamon rolls and the brownie sandwiches. My oven glitched on the brownies so they weren't pretty but they were tasty. The cinnamon rolls were sinful! I am going to make the focaccia tonight. The layout was super easy and simple to follow. I loved that there were little tip bubbles throughout the recipes as well. I'm looking forward to trying some more savory meals as well! I will definitely be coming back to this cook book.

Let me start by stating that I am a huge fan of Trisha Yearwood's cooking show her other books. I firmly believe that every kitchen needs a classic/traditional cookbook that is easy to follow and get a home cook's arsenal of recipes started. However, this cookbook includes nothing original or outstanding beyond Trisha's previous books. Good solid classic recipes reconstituted with a "modern" twist doesn't mean that the new recipe is book-worthy. For example, "Chicken Pot Pie Soup"? Removing the crust which, in my opinion, is the best part of Chick Pot Pie.

I really enjoyed the stories that go with the recipes. Great photos, doable recipes. This one is a winner!

Simply stunning.

This is the full package. Great photos, fabulous recipes and Trisha's voice is authentic and crystal clear.
A lovely cookbook for any kitchen. I simply thought this was one of the best home cook cookbooks I've seen in a long time. I watch the show and it was lovely to see my favorite recipes in here (Princess Cake, love it, Chocolate Gravy and Sky high biscuits, Giant Meatballs in Marinara).
Its a keeper.

Recommend.

Trisha Yearwood’s newest cookbook is a mix of old family recipes, some new takes on classic comfort foods and some new recipes that are sure to become your family’s new favorites. The recipes are well written and easy to follow. Some of the ingredients may not be items you usually have in your pantry but can easily be found at your local grocery store. When making a few of the recipes I found the portion sizes to be generous. My only complaint is that the nutritional information was not provided with each recipe. Then again, these recipes are worthy of special times with family and friends when calorie counting is not the priority. Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to get an early look at this book.

If a cookbook could feel like a hug, this would be the one. From the moment you open and see the stunning food photography, and read the stories attached to each recipe, you're going to feel at home in Trisha's Kitchen.

In his introduction, Garth Brooks gives away the secret to all of the amazing food found within. That secret is love. Trisha's love for family, friends, food and traditions, they're all here for you bring into your home and enjoy.

The first thing I did was gather the ingredients to make the very first recipe in the book, Breakfast Burgers. Hand over my heart delicious. I tried the Hot Honey Cornbread next. I'm not ashamed to say I ate half of it myself. I moved onto the Potato Chip Bacon Brownies. Those are salty-sweet-smokey bites of sheer happiness.

The Yearwood Sisters like to entertain, and many of these recipes fill that need perfectly. You'll find a bit of everything here, but these recipes aren't fussy. Many of them are just as much at home on a cocktail table as the coffee table for a football gathering or girl's night in.

Trisha is generous with her hints to help you make her recipes work for you. You can easily make every recipe in this book. There aren't any strange ingredients to find or techniques to master. She also gives you tips for useful equipment and ingredients.

This cookbook is perfect for anyone who is a fan of Trisha's FoodNetwork show. It's just like her show, fun, filled with friends, family and good food that's easy to make

I preface this review by saying I'm not the best cook in the world! I love GBBO, MasterChef, etc. They are my guilty pleasures but I'm very much a novice in the kitchen but I've been wanting to expand my very basic repertoire and try out some of the dishes see mentioned on US tv shows and in books. Add my love of country music and I thought this would be a twofer!

There are lots of great recipes and the photographs are stunning. My only gripe that my level of "easy" falls way below lots of these recipes! Are all Americans Martha Stewarts????? I'd need to practice each one a few times before attempting to give it to the hubby and son!

There are over 120 recipes and they are sub-divided into easy to find categories; breakfast, snacks, etc. I did try the PB&J Cookie Bars which turned out okay, if not looking exactly like the picture. That might be due to having to translate weights and measures from USA to UK. I'd probably be stuck finding some of the ingredients here as not everything has a UK counterpart.

Well worth a look!

Love this cookbook from Trisha Yearwood. I had made a few of her recipes in the past and was always impressed. So I couldn't wait to try a few of these from her new cookbook. We made the Lobster Mac and Cheese for a dinner with friends and it was a big hit! It was a bit time consuming with all of the steps to it, but the end result was well worth the time put in to it!

I love love love this book. It's accessible. It's easy to read and cook from. The ingredients are easy to find. There are some definite favorites in here including the No Bake Ricotta Espresso Cheesecake, Oven Beef Jerky, and the Buttermilk Cheddar corn cakes. This book would be perfect for those who want to entertain without overly complicated recipes. 99% of these recipes are crowd pleasers and I look forward to cooking more from it.

First off, I love Trisha Yearwood and watching her cooking show. She is so funny and family oriented, which comes through in this cookbook. Not only is this a book of amazing, down home, southern recipes, but Trisha gives insight into her personal life, the history behind a recipe, and makes the reader really connect with the “why” behind the food she is cooking. I’ve made several of the recipes in this book and received nothing but rave reviews!!!
