I've always loved Trisha Yearwood's music, but this is the first time I've read through one of her cookbooks. My favorite thing about it is that all of the recipes are things regular people can make. You don't have to have a fancy kitchen setup or buy the most expensive ingredients. You can just follow the directions and make something delicious.

Another winner from Trisha Yearwood! I love the forward from Garth Brooks and all the recipe introductions. Each recipe has a an easy to follow layout and nice photographs. I appreciate the short and sweet "Useful Equipment & Substitutions" - no time wasted on overbearing kitchen and pantry overviews.

Overall, Trisha Yearwood's newest cookbook is a great mix of classics and fresh ideas, with plenty of history and heart.

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for providing an eARC for review.

Let me start by saying that I ADORE Trisha Yearwood’s cooking show on Food Network and have had great success with some of her recipes in the past, so I was beyond excited to dive into her latest cookbook. While I appreciate Trisha’s love for Southern food and attempts to make it appealing for the masses, this cookbook just wasn’t it for me. I could see a handful of recipes feeling like true comfort food, but the rest were a little too dressed up with extras or melded flavors that I’m not entirely sure would add anything to a dish. This could be my bias from being raised in the South and having my own family’s cooking that I model in my kitchen, but I just wasn’t sold. Three stars for the few recipes that were gems for me and for all the others that were not.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am a little behind on my cookbook reviewing. What can I say...not enough hours in the day! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyway, onto the review...the gold of this cookbook is the personal stories and love of family feel that this entire book has. Does it have a plethora of yummy sounding recipes...yes. The breakfast lasagne was out of this world! They also packed it full of gorgeous and heartwarming photos. And of course there is the country music tie in, so it will appeal to music lovers as well. Definitely worth picking up for yourself or as a gift!

I’m a big country music fan and I love cooking!! So, when I saw Trisha Yearwood had a cookbook coming out, I had to get my hands on it!

You can tell that Trisha has put a lot of heart and soul into this cookbook. She shares family recipes and stories throughout. Trisha has a way of making you feel like you are a guest at her dinner table. By the end, you feel like you know, not only her better, but others in her family.

The recipes did not disappoint. As always, when I do a cookbook review, I had to try some of the recipes so I could genuinely rate the cookbook. There is a little something for everyone with 125 recipes that cover everything from breakfast, snacks, pork & beef, chicken, turkey & fish, etc. I made Company Chicken and PB&J Cookie Bars. What I love about the book is that it doesn’t call for a bunch of fancy ingredients, and I had everything on hand to make these two recipes. The Company Chicken was very flavorful and something easy that I will be able to make for guests. The PB&J Cookie Bars have become a fast breakfast in my household and are also super easy to make.

Keep in mind that most of the recipes are southern-inspired comfort food so you may have to substitute some ingredients to make some of the recipes a little healthier.

Welcome to Trisha’s Kitchen. It’s warm and inviting, just like the author of this cookbook. But, it’s much more than a cookbook. It does have amazing recipes that sound so good and are very tempting. But, it also has notes and comments from Trisha Yearwood that add so much depth to the book and are entertaining and fun as well. The accompanying photographs simply add to the enjoyment of the book because they are well-presented, interesting, and they highlight the recipes as well as the underlying purpose of the book: how to give your friends and family a feeling of comfort and security when you prepare meals for them.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this thoughtfully and well-written cookbook. Now it’s time to head into the kitchen and prepare a few of the recipes!

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book for review.

A collection of family recipes from country singer Trisha Yearwood and her sister, this cookbook is full of tasty recipes. If you're on a restricted diet, this might not be your thing--there is a lot of comfort food in this book. The photographs of the food are very appetizing, and it's nice to have a little story along with each recipe that relates to its origin within Trisha's family. Occasionally there are family photos, as well. I'd have liked to have seen more photos of the dishes, and perhaps a few less photos of Trisha and Garth, but that's just me. If you're a big fan, you might appreciate those photos. A few recipes that caught my eye include: Lemon Basil Bruschetta, Baked Gouda with Dried Cherries and Walnuts, Ricotta Tartlets with Cherry Tomatoes, and Hashbrown-Crusted Asparagus Sausage Quiche. This would be a great gift cookbook for country music and food fans!

I received an ARC via Netgalley. All opinions expressed are my own, and I was not required to leave a positive review

I love cookbooks, but I especially love cookbooks that have recipes that are home-style, American cooking and have beautiful photos of the food. This one contains both, though I do wish every recipe had a photo There are even some cute pictures of Trisha and Garth.

The recipe book is broken down into categories, so some were more to my taste than others (I don't eat bacon (pork), which Trisha states is her fave, nor beef.) Some of my personal favourite categories include breakfast, chicken, turkey, & fish, veggie night, and bread. I also want to try a couple from some of the other categories hello tiramisu affogato and herbed crackers.

The only recipe I actually baked was the Coffee Coffee Cake Muffins. They tasted very good. As a side note, I reduced the sugar amount to 2/3 cup, but I do that with all my baking.

Great cookbook! Coming from a small town, I really appreciated that the ingredients for each of the recipes were things I could find in our small grocery store. Some of the recipes look a bit complicated, but would definitely impress. The photographs are wonderful. Some of the recipes also include photos of the process which is wonderful for uncertain cooks. The forward by Garth Brooks is a nice touch. Readers can really tell that she put a lot of thought and effort into not only the recipes, but book as a whole.

Wow! Every recipe looks better than the last. This is true southern cooking for family. Great recipes that people will enjoy without any frou frou fanciness. I love that Trisha includes little stories before each recipe--truly my favorite part of cookbooks. Great pictures of delicious food and glimpses into Trisha's life. Highly recommend!

Love! I love cookbooks where the personality of the cook comes out - and this delivers! Ms Yearwood’s humor and spunk comes out on every page both with the written descriptions as well as the recipes themselves. I love the gadget suggestions as well as the gorgeous photos. Can’t wait to dig in to these recipes. So grateful to Mariner Books for the copy!

This book made me hungry…

And that’s probably the best test of any book of recipes. Did you make the reader salivate and head straight to the kitchen? This one did… Comfort food was the theme and it showed in each recipe chosen. From gooey sticky buns to diner-inspired hash, from grandma’s cupcakes to shrimp and grits, this was food to challenge the waist-line but make your heart and stomach very happy…

All the meals were covered – and the snacks – with each recipe introduction sharing how the dish came to be, what inspired it, or the reason it was special for the author. It felt like someone speaking to me across the dining table – friendly, warm and inviting me to learn more. I was hooked and I hadn’t even tried a recipe yet.

The recipes immediately felt familiar – the ingredients (for the most part) recognizable and most of them in my own un-chef-fy kitchen. I think that’s the key to why I enjoyed this book so much. I’m not a great cook by any means – far from it – but the recipes and the cooking hacks/shortcuts made me feel like I could be. With a Southern flair the charm and love of food and sharing came shining through.

After reading Essay on Bacon (yes, that’s a thing!), first on the list to try was Pecan Sticky Buns and, oh yum, were they good. I’m eyeing the cinnamon rolls next…
