I love watching Trisha's cooking show, so was excited to see what would be included in this cookbook. I was not let down. It has tons of recipes, including lots of delicious-sounding snacks and breakfasts. There is a lot to get through in here, and it all looks great. Love the stories with each recipe, like that some were dreamed up by Garth.

Beautifully photographed, easy to follow recipes with lots of tips and tricks included. I love reading cookbooks that have stories attached to the recipe and this one checks that box for me. Can't wait to get cooking.

The book grabs your hungry stomach and hunger to create great food for your loved ones. The recipes are practical for the everyday meal preparer, but offer a sophisticated look and taste. That means the ingredients can be found at the local market; there is no need for a stop at the specialty market for that ingredient you will use once. If you are looking to mix up the standard menu with something easy and tasty, this cookbook will fill that hungry spot.

Trisha's Kitchen: Easy Comfort Food for Friends and Family

Great intro, loads of beautiful pictures, and easy-to-follow recipes that include personal stories. The cookbook is indexed beautifully and she includes a page of useful equipment and substitutions.

I love her recipe for instant pot greens and French onion soup, but her dessert recipes are to die for; especially the cheesecake and pecan roll recipes. It's southern comfort food at its finest, which means that you won’t find many recipes for weight loss and you can forget about counting calories.

If you have dietary restrictions like me her recipes make it easy to substitute ingredients and still taste great.

I was given an Advanced Reader's Copy of Trisha's Kitchen: Easy Comfort Food for Friends and Family by NetGalley and the publisher, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

If you weren't hungry already when picking up this cookbook, you will be soon! Between the pictures and the recipes themselves, this is Southern comfort food at its finest.

After recently reading/reviewing Dorie Greenspan's and Rose Levy Beranbaum's dessert cookbooks (both of which I loved), Trisha Yearwood's "Trisha's Kitchen" took me in a refreshing new direction. I absolutely loved the other two ... but also appreciated Yearwood's right now both to go in a new, not-all-desserts direction, but also one that I don't have to think too hard about (unless it's "which recipe do I make next?"). There's no metric-to-"normal person" pro-con list, or ingredients list for that matter; these are recipes that look like ones I grew up making, so reduce/downright eliminate the mental challenge. Familiar and comfortable not just in the mindset of "comfort food," but just what I'm plain used to. :) A mental break, if you will.

Plus, how can you go wrong when the cookbook literally includes "an essay on bacon"? Next-level food writing, amirite? :)

Southern (or more specifically, Georgia) staples like peaches, pecans, and sweet tea are ever present here ... and I love it. All the seasons and all the meals come to the table (see what I did there? LOL) in this fantastically-produced book that well deserves a place on the shelf (or on your counter). I especially can't wait to try the skillet cheddar cornbread, peach preserves, and BBQ burnt ends. Om nom nom!

I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Trisha's cooking rivals Ree Drummond talents.
So many good home cooking ideas and some fusion in this publication.
I love a good cookbook with great photos. If you don't love Trisha and Garth are you even American. Their love for each other and love of food over run this book.
Can't wait to add some of these recipes into my rotation and have some family over for a meal.
Home cooking at its best.

I love Trisha and I love her cooking show (especially when her sister is on)! It’s just so nice to hear them reminisce about old memories and recipes in the kitchen because it’s something that everyone can relate to. So obviously, I’m super excited about this cookbook! Not only does Trisha add in personal stories to the recipes, but it’s all about the comfort food!
Great intro, lots of pictures, and easy to follow layout and recipe. Trisha’s added tips are very helpful. Serving size is included but no cook times. I’m not even going to touch on nutritional info because it’s a comfort food book… you want this for a specific purpose and that is NOT to know the calorie count.
The hard cider cheese soup, Garth’s teriyaki bowl, and the buttermilk cheddar corn cakes are some of my favorites! PLUS the entire sweets section! This is just delicious, easy down to earth food. I highly recommend, definitely a go-to book to have on hand! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

Right from the start of Trisha’s Kitchen, you can feel the passion Trisha Yearwood has for cooking and family. I had a feeling this would be my type of cookbook, and it did not disappoint!

If you are looking for some true comfort food recipes, this is the cookbook for you! It was well organized, and the instructions were very clear. I also appreciated the substitutions page at the beginning of the book. There was a nice mix of easy and more advanced recipes, so anyone can find something to make. And again, this is a comfort food cookbook so don’t expect to find many recipes supporting weight-loss and calorie counting. Overall I enjoyed this book, but I will definitely come back and update my review when I am able to make some of Trisha’s comforting creations. 4 stars.

I received a free digital ARC from NetGalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in exchange for an honest review.

A great resource for delicious comfort foods. I also really enjoyed the insights into Trisha’s kitchen and family. I just felt happy, relaxed, and excited to get cooking while reading this cookbook. The recipes are easy to follow and all of photographs beautifully capture the dish being created. This will be a new staple in my kitchen and will likely be gifted to everyone I know who loves to cook and create comfort foods.

I have LOVED Trisha Yearwood for years and had seen a few of her recipes online but, this book was fun to go through and try making. This book is for anyone who loves cookbooks, country music and southern cooking. As a girl for California I enjoyed making these recipes and my family enjoyed them as well.

This cookbook is filled with delicious Southern-recipes that call for easy to find ingredients. An especially nice feature is that some recipes call for ingredients like "puff pastry" rather than from scratch cooking. This makes many of these recipes more accessible to the busy, working families looking for something fun to cook on the weekend.

The Pecan Roll recipe and Cheeseburger Mac recipe alone make this cookbook worth the sale, but there is also so much more!

I received a copy of this title from the publisher on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Can't wait to try some of these recipes! The photos and the stories behind the recipes make this cookbook even more appealing to Yearwood fans.

I received a free copy of this cookbook exchange for an honest review. I love that Trisha has huge full color pictures of each recipe. You know exactly what each food item is supposed to look like. I wish there was calorie information for the recipes, but I can figure it out with online calculators. It's just inconvenient. This cookbook is definitely a comfort food cookbook. If you are looking for healthy recipes, then this is not the right cookbook for you. Almost every recipe in this book is loaded with fat and calories, but looks delicious. I like how there's a personal story with each recipe. I love all the recipes, but I definitely wouldn't be using it all the time, since I am eating healthi.

She had me at Pecan Sticky Buns with Bacon Caramel! This mouthwatering cookbook is loaded with page after page of gorgeous photos and Southern style comfort foods and Yearwood family recipes. I also loved the backstories behind each recipe and the "Trisha's Tips" sections with helpful pointers.

Right off the bat, I knew that Trisha's Kitchen was going to be a great cookbook. The cookbook had the perfect balance between the personal information and the recipes, which allowed the reader the chance to get to know the author's life as well as great cooking. Not only are there excellent photographs of the finished dishes, there are useful tips scattered throughout.

The recipes are divided into logical sections, which I have listed below with some of my favorites.

Breakfast: Pecan Sticky Buns with Bacon Caramel; Garth's Breakfast Lasagna; Blueberry Pancake Cake

Snacks & Appetizers: Nashville Hot Chicken Meatball Sliders; Double Stacked Pork Nachos; Ricotta Tartlets; Steak and Avocado Rolls; Pizza Pasta Snack Mix

Soups, Salads & Sides: Crispy Rice Corn Fritters; French Onion Soup

Pork & Beef: Garth's Teriyaki Bowl; Red Chili Tamale Pie; Smoked Ham Carbonara

Chicken, Turkey & Fish: Chicken Potpie Burgers; Hot Chicken Chili; Lobster Mac & Cheese; Beth's Shrimp & Grits

Preserves, Pickles, Sauces & Spreads: Bacon Onion Jam; Peach Mustard Barbecue Sauce

Sweets: Camo Cake; Coconut Cream Pie; Cream Cheese Pound Cake; No Bake Ricotta Espresso Cheesecake; Lemon Slab Pie, Blueberry Pie Bars

A beautiful cookbook with some absolutely fantastic recipes. I have tried a few to rave reviews from my household (the Nashville hot chicken sliders are amazing!!) and plan to most if not all of them. I am always looking for something different to make for meals and this book is certainly full of "something different". Lots of large photos, lots of stories, and most importantly great recipes, I think this is one of my new favourite cookbooks!
