Umm these recipes look amazing. I can't wait to try them out. The great part is that the recipes look like they would be easy to follow and actually make myself which is sometimes rare in a cookbook. Also, the photography for this book was very well done. I was impressed.

Similar to Trisha Yearwood's show on Food Network, this cookbook has simple, uncomplicated recipes with clear concise instructions, plenty of photographs, and an emphasis on the family connection in her recipes and love of cooking. These are definitely all Southern-US style recipes, so don't expect anything too light or low-fat, though it all looks delicious. (In fact, there is no nutritional info at all included in this book, which while it would have been nice to have, wouldn't stop me from buying this or making the recipes.) I'm looking forward to trying quite a few recipes, like the Pizza Pasta Snack Mix and the Coffee Coffee Cake.

I'm very grateful to NetGalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for giving me the opportunity to read and review Trisha's Kitchen.

A little something for everyone in this new cookbook from Trisha Yearwood. Great illustrations, heartfelt anecdotes and a wide variety of recipes - from the simple to the more unique, original and complex. My mouth watered and I was itching to make sooo many of these. Can't wait to buy a copy for myself when it comes out in September! Favorites included: steak and avocado rolls, breakfast lasagna, walnut pesto pinwheels and her double stuffed brownies and potato chip bacon brownies!! YUM!

When you open a cookbook for the first time and the first recipe is Breakfast Burgers – you know you have a winner! The recipes included in Trisha’s Kitchen are relatively easy and don’t require fancy ingredients or equipment (always a cookbook dealbreaker for me).

There were more categories than I was expecting. Of course, you have the usuals…Breakfast, Snacks & Appetizers, Soups, Salads, Meat, Fish, Desserts, etc.; however, this cookbook also includes recipes for “Veggie Night,” Breads, and Preserves, Pickles, Sauces & Spreads. Something else that I didn’t expect…the range of recipes. I picked this up thinking it would be full of Southern dishes, but I was (happily) proved wrong. The dishes really are about ease and comfort no matter their origin. I can’t wait to try the Beef Moussaka, Savory Potato Feta Galette, and Homemade Gnocchi! If these sound too frou-frou for you…do not despair. Many of the recipes are good weeknight staples that even the less adventurous eater (and weeknight cook) will enjoy like Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup, Cornbread Crusted Fried Pork Chops (yum!), or Chili Mac.

Throughout Trisha’s Kitchen, she includes a frequent “Trisha’s Tip” along with a recipe. These are super helpful! They provide substitutions for ingredients that may not be sitting in your pantry/fridge or tips on why she did something a certain way (ex: cooking a baked potato without foil so the skin is sturdier).

There are lots of lovely, full-color photos for inspiration (always a plus in my opinion), and some include a full set of instructional pictures to help with certain techniques. All recipes have an introduction from Trisha about the history of the recipe, why she loves it, or why she included it. Great for selecting which recipe you want to try for your family or friends.

There are only two things I wish were included…1) Estimated time commitment. I like to know ahead of time how long it might take so I can schedule accordingly. Just because the title includes “easy” doesn’t always mean it is quick. I will mention that most are relatively quick in addition to easy but there are a couple of time suckers within that need a few hours of chilling time or time for dough to rise. 2) Air fryer conversions. With a number of fried dishes, it would have been awesome if they had included tips to prepare the recipe in an air fryer.

This is a cookbook I see myself referencing on a regular basis as I’m always on the scout for appetizers to take to a friend’s house or something new for a family dinner. Trisha’s Kitchen would make a great hostess, wedding, or graduation gift since most beginning cooks could achieve many of the recipes. Now, I’m off to bake some of Grandma’s Sky-High Biscuits!

I received Trisha's Kitchen as part of a Goodreads giveaway.

Trisha Yearwood has made the most of a second, post-music career in food. The host of her own TV show and numerous cookbooks, she focuses on new twists on comfort food and Southern classics. In Trisha's Kitchen, she continues this trend with page after page of hearty options. Like other celebrity chefs, her fame allows for a gorgeous presentation, both in text and photographs--my mouth is watering. These recipes are certainly on the heavier side--vegetarians and vegans, be prepared that this one may not be for you--but under the right circumstances (particularly come fall and winter), it's a real winner.

I was so excited to have the opportunity to read and review a Trisha Yearwood cookbook and thankfully it did not disappoint. The book is filled with recipes for the basic home cook, up to more advanced and adventurous recipes, each offering gorgeous images and step-by-step instructions to help out all of us in the kitchen. The stories paired with the recipes are adorable and I absolutely will be buying this for myself, family, and friends.

5/5 Stars!!

I audibly gasped at her suggestion of using corn syrup as pancake syrup (blame my proximity to Canada) but otherwise most everything else looked tasty and easy to make. There’s nothing overly exciting about any of the recipes, they’re things you’re sure to have come across in other cookbooks or blogs, but if you like Trisha Yearwood, you’ll enjoy her take on southern favorites and her personal notes with every recipe.

I have enjoyed Trisha's music since the 90s since I saw her open for Garth at the Duquoin State Fair In the 90s. Her music career exploded from there. Trisha became know for her cooking and how wonderful she was. She began a career as a cookbook author and TV chef. I have rooted for her every step of the way.

This cookbook is my favorite so far. Beautiful photography and recipes for every need from all over the world. I made a list of everything I plan to make as I thumbed through my copy. The arancini will probably be my first recipe, no maybe the Shrimp and Grits or the fork bacon. Everything looked so good.

Trisha included an anecdote with each recipe. The comments about veggie nights so the girls would eat more veggies warmed my heart. True down home cooking that anyone can make. If you don't own one of Trisha's cookbooks you are missing out, grab this one today and get cookin'.

I love Trisha Yearwood’s cooking show, so I’m really excited about reviewing her new cookbook, Trisha’s Kitchen.

The book is beautiful. There are gorgeous family and food pics. Before each recipe, Trisha explains a bit about how the recipe came about. She also includes a page of Useful Equipment & Substitutions. The cookbook is indexed into different sections:

Breakfast
Snacks & Appetizers
Soups, Salads, & Sides
Pork & Beef
Chicken, Turkey, & Fish
Veggie Night
Breads
Preserves, Pickles, Sauces, & Spreads
Sweets

Upon my first perusal of the book, I wanted to make every recipe immediately. I finally settled upon BBQ Burnt Ends. The brisket was very tender and the spice blend was just right. The homemade BBQ sauce was so yummy, I wanted to lick the plate. The instructions were easy to follow and understand.

This is a gorgeously photographed cookbook! All the food looks and sounds incredible, and unlike most cookbooks there wasn't a single recipe in there that seemed unappetizing or overcomplicated. I'm especially excited to add the Gouda pimento cheese bacon grits to my breakfast rotation;

Trisha Yearwood pours her heart and soul in her cooking show and cookbooks. I enjoy watching her cooking show on Food Network because she makes comfort food that families can easily make. The same with the recipes in this book. The photos in this book are mouthwatering and filled with over 100 recipes. The recipes are easy to follow and not filled with tons ingredients that you have buy to never use again. I can’t wait to add this cookbook to my collection.

I love Trisha and Garth so I couldn’t pass this book up. There were lots of great recipes but the two that stood out to try are the chicken pot pie burgers and potato chip bacon brownies. Thanks so much to NetGalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

I have several of Trisha Yearwood's cookbooks and this is another great addition to my shelf. 125 easy to make recipes with ordinary ingredients. The pictures complement all the recipes. The book is co-authored by her sister Beth and they picked some great comfort foods, many from their mother and grandmother. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Trisha Yearwood’s passion for good food, and for her family, shines through in TRISHA’S KITCHEN: COMFORT FOOD FOR FRIENDS & FAMILY. I have admired Ms. Yearwood for some time, and have really enjoyed watching her cooking show. Her recipes are just close enough to some of the great food I grew up eating, and cook myself today, yet with differences that will add tasty new changes to mine.

TRISHA’S KITCHEN starts out with a Forward by Trisha’s husband, Garth Brookes. His love for his wife, and her cooking shine through. Next is the author’s lovely introduction, which is followed by a short, but useful section on equipment, & substitutes that will make your cooking experience easier and more enjoyable.

And of course, there are the recipes. 125 of them!
Here is just a sampling of what you will find . . . Pecan Sticky Buns with Bacon Caramel, Sausage Veggie Breakfast Casserole, Fork and Knife Bacon, Chipotle Chicken Taco-Stuff Potato Skins, Blue Crab & Lemon Pepper Ranch Toast, Janet’s Potato Salad, Kat’s Arancini, Cornbread-Crusted Friend Pork Chops, Chili Mac, Chicken Potpie Burgers, Butter-Basted Fillet of Fish with Salsa Verde, Garth’s Teriyaki Bowl, Grilled Yellow Gazpacho, Homemade Gnocchi with Two Sauces, The Ultimate Veggie Burger, Hot Honey Cornbread, Herbed Crackers, French Mustard Barbecue Sauce, Lemon Pecan Slab Pie, Dessert Pizza, Cream Cheese Pound Cake, and Coconut Cream Pie.

Just about every page has beautiful color photos, which is a must for me in any cookbook. But, the photos don’t just represent the food. There are also lovely images of Ms. Yearwood and her family. I could feel the love and heart that went into it all. It feels to me more like a friend’s recipe file box and photo album. What a wonderful gift for the author to share with us all.

TRISHA’S KITCHEN will be a loved and well used, go to staple in your kitchen, just as I know it will be in mine.

I love Trisha's cookbooks and her recipes. Her recipes use common ingredients usually things I already have in the pantry. She isn't afraid to use shortcuts that makes things easier in the kitchen. Everything doesn't have to be made from scratch. And they are usually some form of comfort food. I think we can all agree we need some comfort food these days. But I mainly enjoy the family stories that usually go with these recipes. She makes us feel like part of the family. Her essay on bacon is a must read for the bacon lover. Her step by step direction are helpful for the first time cook and also a seasoned chef. I can't wait to try her pizza pasta snack mix and her French onion soup.

I really enjoyed all of the stories in the cookbook. I like learning where recipes come from and what they mean to people. I thought a lot of recipes looked delicious. I knew from watching bits of her show on Food Network that they were going to be southern style dishes, and probably not the most healthy recipes you’ve ever encountered.

My issue is that none of these had nutritional info. Even if a recipe is going to be unhealthy I would still like to know the nutritional info so I could work it into my diet. I also did not think most of these recipes were anything close to easy. Most had a bunch of ingredients and complicated steps. Would I eat these recipes? Totally. Would I actually make these recipes? Definitely not. I’m not the type of person to spend and hour or more on a meal. I would totally love someone to cook them for me though.

Thank you Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Trisha Yearwoord, and NetGalley for the limited ARC of this cookbook in exchange for a review.
