Patricia Johns will tug at the heartstrings with her emotional tale of second chances, hope and learning to love again: Rocky Mountain Baby.

Taryn Cook has wanted to be a mom for so long and her cherished dream is about to become a reality. Pregnant with her miracle baby, Taryn cannot wait to meet her child. As a single mom, Taryn knows that the road ahead is going to have its challenges, however, being a parent is all she has ever wanted and she is perfectly happy with the way her life has turned out. However, Taryn hadn’t banked on the baby’s father Noah Brooks coming back in her life and wanting to be there for their son.

Noah never planned on being a father. Kids were simply not on the agenda for him, however, when he hears that Taryn is pregnant with his child, he vows to do whatever it takes to be there for the two of them. As him and Taryn find themselves growing closer and closer, it becomes clear that they’ve fallen head over heels in love with one another, but will they stop letting their fears get the better of them and admit how they really feel about one another? Will they be a family in every sense of the word? Or are Noah and Taryn about to lose this chance at a love that will last a lifetime?

In Rocky Mountain Baby, Patricia Johns has written a tender, heartfelt and poignant love story about life’s unexpected surprises, the ties that bind and healing from the past that ticks all the right boxes. Taryn and Noah are two wonderful characters that are so brilliantly drawn they will feel like old friends by the end of the book.

An enchanting and adorable sweet romance, Patricia Johns’ Rocky Mountain Baby is a charming love story that will leave readers with a great big smile on their face.

Rocky Mountain Baby is such a heartfelt story, and that cover is absolutely adorable! Surprise baby storylines aren't my favorite trope in the genre, but I like how this one plays out. Even the conflicts between Taryn and Noah tug at the heartstrings. This is the third book in The Second Chance Club series, but it works well as a standalone - at least it did for me. That said, these characters, including the secondary ones,. are engaging and likable, so I'm feeling like I need to add the first two books to my TBR pile. This one is a well-written, sweet romance that was just what I needed for a pleasant weekend read.

Taryn Cook was certain she'd never have a child. However, she is pregnant. And she is alone. However, she is so happy to be pregnant that she is fully prepared to raise her child alone. However, when she runs into the baby's father at a consulting job for her business, Noah Brooks, her carefully laid plans fall apart. She never expected to see Noah after their night together. In fact, the night that brought them together perfectly illustrates that they were each at crossroads in their lives and now that are working together they both have to rethink their futures.

Rocky Mountain Baby is the third book in the Second Chance Club series. Although it did perfectly well as a standalone for me, the story was just so sweet and had such an emotional edge, that I plan on reading the first two books in the series, Their Mountain Reunion and Mountain Mistletoe Christmas. What I found in this story is the strong connection between Taryn and Noah, but also the members of the town.

In addition to that, Taryn and Noah had to deal with their emotional baggage, especially since the the two of them had never expected to meet again. Would it be possible for them to parent together, for them to learn to love and trust one another, especially knowing that sexual attraction wouldn't be enough to sustain a life together?

This touching story evolved quite nicely while Taryn and Noah's relationship developed, especially while their lives eventually began to change. I loved how the happily ever after was delivered, especially with the conflicts concerned.

Many thanks to Harlequin Heartwarming and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Taryn has her grandmother in her life and is in town to help her get more care for her is pregnant but she has nothing to do with Noah. When the baby is born, will Noah have what it takes to help Taryn raise the baby?

She's prepared to be a single mother if needs be, but will love blossom again between her and Noah, or will they be just friends?

I love books with a family at their centre. I was rooting for Taryn whatever decision she took and I was enjoying witnessing their story unfold.

The mountain scenery was quaint and breathtaking.

Rocky Mountain Baby is the first book in the series that I have reviewed by Patricia Johns, as well as the first overall. I felt she created characters well and that the pace of the book was quick.

Thanks to Patricia Johns and Harlequin for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

This was a sweet story about two people who didn’t really know each other, yet after one night together months earlier, they were about to become parents. I really liked Taryn and Noah, even though they both had strong ideas about what they were or were not capable of in the parenting department.

I liked the transition that Taryn and Noah made as they got to know each other and began to realize that they actually had feelings for each other. The question was whether they would be able to push past their fears and commit to each other with a love that would last and not end in a broken home.

This is a clean fiction novel with a couple of light swear words. The intimacy that the couple shared, resulting in the surprise pregnancy, was something that occurred before the book began. I thought the author did a good job of creating believable romantic tension between the two characters, as well as believable emotional growth for them as well.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
