When I agreed to read this book, I was nervous about the content it promised. Sex trafficking is something that has weighed heavy on my heart for a long time and is not a topic to be taken lightly. With that said, Rosche provided a story that uncovers the horrific evils of trafficking through the goodness of people seeking to show God’s love to those who don’t believe they are deserving. The intricate plot navigates its way seamlessly through the lives of Whisper Canyon, revealing its secrets bit by bit along the way. The characters were excellently written, each one with their own unique voice. There is an element of swoon-worthy romance that is delicately balanced with the heavier topic. And there is a strong message of redemption and servitude, showing what it means to truly live your life for God regardless of the obstacles that may come your way.
Aspen Crossroads is a clean read that was gripping from the first page all the way to the last. Recommended to young adults and up.

What a refreshing book! I'm a huge fan of Christian romance, and this one's just lovely. But beyond the chemistry and sweetness between Haven and Jace there are wonderful threads and truths that bring depth and lovely complexity to their story. Both have heart-wrenching backstories that have shaped who they are, how they view their world, and their responses to each attack on their character. And attacks there are in plenty. Whisper Canyon is both a lovely and horrible place depending on where the characters fit within it. And I loved how Ms. Rosche used both sides to point out spiritual truths that extend beyond Whisper Canyon and into the real world.

These quotes, for example, perfectly illustrate the points that resonated within me so much:
"But since the beginning, people have done a good job of bringing bad to what the Lord meant for good. Church is no exception, but then again, what is?"
"My savior didn't die on a cross so one man can tell another whether he's welcome to join the Lord's church. The church is full of sinners like us. We all need mercy. We all need grace."

From church hurt to trafficking to small-town life, Ms. Rosche has delivered a poignant love story packed with grace and truth that we can all benefit from hearing and taking to heart. Sensitive issues are sensitively handled without sugar coating, and with every laugh, tear, and small victory, my heart was completely engaged in the lives of these characters and cheering them on. I adored her Madison River books, but she's upped her game with the start of this new series.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher, I received an advance review copy of this book. However, my review is freely given without expectation or solicitation. I recommend this to any romance fans who enjoy a book that goes far deeper than a mere love story and unashamedly tackles hard issues with grace.

A fun light-hearted romance. Witty and we'll written.
