Book four in the Waterproof: Navy SEALs series. Navy SEAL Nixon "Wrench" Delano and reclusive writer, Everly Tollison's story is well written with a very good storyline. There is suspense, drama, danger, villains, lies and romance. I want to read more in this series.

I received this ARC for an honest review:

Wrench has been watching or lusting after a woman if you will. When he hears a scream down an alley and then rescues a woman. Just so happens that it is the woman he has been wanting to get to know Carson. Who’s real name is Eve or Everly she is an author and she works at staying hidden or so she thinks. What she does not know is she has a stalker and when Nix rescues her she is grateful and there is a connection between them she still does not know how to proceed with her feelings. Nix is also dealing with his emotions on a mission that did not go as planned and blames himself even though it was not his fault. Maybe together they can heal each other. A very good and emotional book, with very good characters.

Complementary copy given for my honest review and opinion. Copy provided by NetGalley.
I loved this suspenseful romance. Usually I have a guess on who the stalker is but this one got me! I did not expect it. I love the ending. It sounds like I need to get more books in this series.

Everly Tollison lives through her books and the persona she creates to promote them. When she is almost kidnapped by a stalker she is rescued by Nix who just happens to walk by the alley and hears her scream.

Nixon Delano, know as Wrench by his SEAL team has been fantasizing about the lovely author in the poster in the bookshop’s window for weeks. Being at the right place at the right time results in him saving the object of his fantasies.

They enjoy each other’s company and Every starts to realize that romance doesn’t just exist in her books.

But an unexpected danger is lurking and trying to spread doubt. Will Everly and Nix and his team be able to endure?

Nix, when things go wrong on a SEAL mission that has him questioning his ability to be on the team any longer, he runs into Everly AKA Carson who just happens to be fighting a abductor at the time. The woman that’s he’s been fantasizing about after seeing her picture in a bookstore. Together they go on a mission that might just cost them their lives. Lot of action and intrigue in this book. And hot hunky soldiers to!

This was the first book I've read by this author. Admittedly, it was a bit slow for me and some parts seemed to drag on a bit and take away from the story. However, overall it was still a good read and I did enjoy. Would definitely read more by this author.

This is the first book by this author and I was glad that I didn't feel lost by not having read the previous books in this series. She does a good job of including enough information about the other members of the SEAL team to know who they are.

For me, the start of the story was a little slow paced but once the action started there was no let up. You could feel Everly's emotions as she was dealing with her stalker and all the unknowns. There was no doubt as to the chemistry between Everly and Nix. I also loved the secondary characters - Mancinis, Mr. McFarland and Michael and his mom.

Four stars

A unique tale by Ms. Chambliss with interesting characters.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

An amazingly easy read. Fast pace with a couple of twists thrown in. Nix and Everly are a great couple who just get each other.

Only a couple of miss spellings in the middle of the book, but it doesn't detract from the story.

The first book I've read by Jo Chambliss but not the last. Great storyline with intrigue. The characters were developed rather well. Liked it!

I loved learning the story behind Nixon buying the garage and what he did with it and how he has built connections with others in town especially with Lieutenant Colonel McFarland and Mr and Mrs Mancini. Everly is a shy introvert who is also a kick ass writer and who's privacy is about to be invaded big time with a cray cray stalker which leads to plenty of twists that will shock you. Fortunately when the danger gets too real Everly has Nixon to fall to (literally) and this leads to some smoking attraction and a lot of feelings, however Everly's stalker decides to escalate things even further from there and there are some heart topping moments that you don't know how will turn out.

Everly Tollison is a best selling author who shuns the limelight and writes under a pen name for fear of a stalker. When she is forced to make the decision to come out to the public her worst fears are realized. Nix is a navy seal who is obsessed with the picture of the author he sees in the book store window, but does not expect to every met her. One night walking home he hears a scream in the ally and shows up just in time to save Everly from being kidnaped only to realize she is his author obsession. Thus start a wonderful tale of mystery, suspense and steamy romance. This book is a part of a series but I did not find it difficult to follow along, it just made me want to read the rest of the series.

As with all her previous books in this series, Jo has totally blown me away with her creative storyline and amazing characters! Everly and Nix make such a great pair! Don’t they always say opposites attract? Well, this is definitely a perfect example. In my opinion at least, their personalities, as well as all they have went through previously, makes their relationship all the more memorable and special. As for the suspense, holy smokes, I was on edge and truly didn’t figure out the “who done it” until the very end! Super excited to read what Jo creates next! Awesome read! Highly recommended

Blastproof is the fourth title in Jo Chambliss' Waterproof: Navy SEALs series, but it's the first book in the series I've read, and the first novel I've read by Ms. Chambliss. I'm happy to report that my aforementioned unfamiliarity with this series and this author, didn't leave me floundering in confusion--while other characters in this series appeared in this novel, they didn't cause the character confusion I'm used to experiencing when I read a novel this far into a series. In short, I found this novel to be an enjoyable romantic suspense read for the most part, and it gets a 4-star rating from this reader.

Everly Wray Tollison is the author of best-selling romantic suspense/mystery novels, and she writes under the pen name, Carson Shivers. An introvert at heart, she likes her anonymity, but her agent, Cherie, wants her to start doing bookstore appearances, signings, and TV interviews to increase sales of her novels. The only way Everly will agree to this, is if she appears in disguise, artfully made up, wearing a wig, and dressed nothing like herself. Her first scheduled appearance will be at her local bookstore, only a few blocks from her home in Virginia Beach, and which now has a six-foot tall poster of sexy Carson Shivers in the window, which certainly caught the eye of local mechanic, garage owner, Navy SEAL, and handsome hunk, Nixon "Wrench" Delano, who passes the bookstore every day en route to the coffee shop across the street for his breakfast, and who was so attracted to her poster that he even purchased a copy of one of her novels.

Unfortunately for Everly, that poster also draws the attention of a stalker, whose first act is sending her a bouquet of unusual flowers--she assumes they are simply either from a fan, an admirer, or her publisher. Dressed and made up as Carson, Everly has a very well-attended book signing, and as she is leaving to get her car in the rear parking lot, someone jumps her and puts a knife to her throat. Luckily, Nixon is passing by and hears her scream, coming to her rescue, although the stalker manages to get away. This scene sets the pattern for rest of the novel, with a rapidly growing attraction between Everly and Nixon, more threats and danger for Everly, and plenty of romance, suspense and surprises to come, as Nixon soon becomes Everly's protector, and this is where I began to have a problem with this novel.

Not only is Nixon a Navy SEAL on active duty, but he is also a mechanic with his own garage to run, and when he becomes enamored with Everly, taking responsibility for her protection, I couldn't help but wonder how he could manage to do all of those things when his first allegiance and duty was to the Navy. Additionally, while I liked both main characters, the writing, and the plot of this novel, I wish that the author had spent a little more time on character development and a backstory. By the exciting and surprising twists at the latter half of this novel, I realized that I knew as little about Everly and Nixon at the end of this novel as I did at the beginning.

Aside from the few issues I mentioned, I found Blastproof to be an exciting, well-paced, well-written, and enjoyable read, which certainly kept me guessing until the suspense really ramped up and the identity of the stalker was revealed, and I do recommend it.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. It's a very good story though it takes half of the book for something to happen. But when it finally does, it like OMG. You'd never expect the story to turn out as it did. Very well written.

Phew, yet another amazing read by Jo Chambliss,

Carson Shiver, the elusive, bestselling author of women's fiction, has finally been to convinced to make a public appearance. She agreed to do this provided she could disguise her appearance. Only a few people know that Carson is Everly 'Wray'.

Posters of Carson Shiver were soon plastered around the local bookstores. And then she started getting weird notes in strange places; it seems that at least one other person knows exactly who she is, a stalker.

Wrench (Nix) is so drawn to Carson's poster that he bought her latest book, read it. After a particularly difficult mission and, in need of a distraction, Wrench takes Michael, his young employee, out for a meal. Afterwards they were walking passed a bookshop and heard a scream. And that is when the story really begins.

I honestly love how Jo writes, the pictures that form in my head while reading are so vivid. The characters are so skilfully described.

There are real, relevant emotions/conditions dealt with such as terror, lack of confidence and PTSD. Not to forget that there are awesome SEALs and their women, bad people and steam.

I was fortunate enough to review this book.

Another brilliant book from an author that is one of my favourites I first came across her army rangers series and now she has moved on to a seal team but the thing that makes her stories is not only the fact that the Hero's are all alpha males but they have doubts they don't always come across as perfect with all of the answers and the woman are just as strong as the men in their own way

This is the story of Everly Tollison a young adult fiction writer who has managed to stay out of the spotlight so that she can still have a life and privacy. When she is forced into doing a book signing it brings danger to her door Nixon "Wrench" Delano can't believe that he is dreaming about the image of an author in his local bookshop but when a scream in the night means he has to rescue her the attraction soon becomes more than a dream. But danger to Everly is much closer than anyone realises and there is far more going on than anyone realises With the help of his team he will keep Everly safe and bring in the man his team has been hunting
