Military Romance series written about Navy Seals. Need I say more?? Seriously Hot!! Nix Delano "Wrench" is your normal American hero. He has fantasies in his mechanic shop that make you want to have your car towed! Everly "Carson Shriver" is your typical Romance author. She makes you want to act out scenes in her books! They both live in the same small town and eat at the same places, but do not meet each other until things are not normal. Life changing events begin to happen for both Wrench and Everly and it is definitely worth the ride.

The beginning of the book starts out a little mundane due to the reality of the characters, but I enjoyed reading this book by Jo Chambliss. The characters are realistic and the book does not lack heart throbbing suspense. A well written must read series.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a genre I like and I was able to buy in to the characters the author had created. It needs a proof read to sort out the typo's because that is a particular bug bear of mine. Other than that I would definitely recommend this book.

Easy-reading weekend beach book, action-packed, entertaining characters, with a bit of humour, and sex.

Every time I read one of Chambliss’ books, I think it’s the best one I have read. Blastproof is no exception! I can’t wait until the next one comes out. I tell my friends all the time they should read the series. Amazing! #Blastproof #NetGalley

Jo Chambliss sucked me into her seal team with the beginning of her first series, with Ranger Mine.
The Waterproof Series is a spin off of that. What is so great is each book can be read as a stand alone. I personally recommend reading them all. Each character of each book becomes someone you can invest in, believe in and Wrench is no exception. All her characters are human. Wrench's self doubt after a recent deployment goes amiss is exasperated after he rescues Wray from a pending kidnapper. Wrench stepping up with Michael made my heart swell. Wray is a romantic suspense writer. Somewhat like our own Jo Chambliss except hers are Military Romantic Suspense. I felt like Jo gave us a behind the scene look, so to speak, of a writer. We ride the roller coaster of Wray trying to live her life with a stalker and watch the relationship between her and Wrench evolve and grow. There is some heavy duty steam here, descriptive and detailed. I enjoy Jo's books for the characters, the feelings, I skim the heavy steam. My heart felt like it broke when the Commander and Judge let their thoughts show on their face. I could not have forgiven him as easily as Wrench did. I felt he did indeed fail them. If you enjoy military romantic suspense with mystery and a twist you will definitely enjoy BlastProof. Thank you for the arc Jo Chambliss and NetGalley. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

Heroes have self-doubt too

This is book 4 in the Waterproof: Navy seals series by Jo Chambliss but can be read as a standalone.

Everly is the shy author being forced into the public eye that picks up a stalker in the process. Nix is a team guy, going through a period of doubt after a close call in his last op. Oh, and falling in lust with the life size poster of the hot author coming to town for a book signing. Sound too familiar and boring as just another read of an alpha hero saving the day?

Yes and no. Jo made the story feel new. Nix and Ev have instant attraction - even more so when he gets to know the person behind the persona. I totally loved that the relationship between Nix and Ev was easy and deepened quickly. The tension in the book came not from relationship insecurities but the ongoing stalker mystery - and here the author excelled in giving us a real twister.

The secondary characters were not as involved as in previous books - but even here we get to see strong men admitting their mistakes which makes the story more real. I did appreciate the action in the book, but the fact that Nix had to deal with feelings of inadequacy in a similar vein as Ev made him very endearing to me. And the their sizzling relationship with a good understanding and acceptance of the other is a new relationship goal for me.

I received a free copy of the book through Netgalley but this is a voluntary and honest review.

Everyly and Nix are an odd couple but they make it work. A stalker is after her an Nix is by her side. Most of the book was just them getting to know each other and him fantasizing over her (author side) not knowing who the real woman was. Towards the end of the book it starts getting really good with the action, surprises and heat. HEA.

This is book four in The Waterproof: Navy Seals Series and it is Nix and Everly's story. Everly is a author but she is a very private person and nobody knows her identity except for a few people close to her but when her agent wants her to do a book signing in her own town and TV appearances Everly decides that she will do it but under a disguise to keep her identity under wraps but what she didn't expect was to have a stalker. Nix is a navy seal and he also owns a car repair shop and he also has a big of a crush on a certain author. When Nix is going home after a meal he hears a scream only to find a man holding a women at knife point and when he realised that it is the author he has been fantasizing about and saves her. When Everly has a stalker and things take a turn for the worse it is Nix that saves and protects her but will they find the stalker in time to save Everly from the danger that seems to be surrounding her. Nix and Everly had a instant connection and chemistry between them that is so strong that you could feel it sizzling of the pages of this book but will they get to explore it and see where it will lead. There are many twists and turns along the way including danger, kidnapping, fear, hope, love and emotional situations that keep you on the edge of your seat. This book was absolutely amazing and I couldn't put it down and had to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next and it was so addictive. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the first page and I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by Jo Chambliss as she is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention.

I Voluntarily Reviewed a Arc Copy of this Amazing Book.

An exciting page turner that delivers a thrill throughout.

I love this writers style, and how immersed she gets the readers into the teams world.
Wrench’s story was partly introduced in the previous book and continues at a pace.
In the right place at the right time, he rescues the woman he’s been lusting over, but when he meets the real Carson (or Ev as she really is) he gets his socks knocked off. Ev’s journey is full of twists and turns as we start down a stalker theme, get distracted then come full circle again!!

I loved how Wrench’s doubts in himself and his abilities were portrayed, more often than not these genre books make out the hero to be superhuman and sometimes impervious to deep feelings regarding themselves. Not this author, in fact the whole team goes through a period of self reflection that is refreshing and honest.

Ev is who she is and her honestly and self awareness is great to read about, how she and wrench fit together is lovely to read about and their building romance around the rest of the plot lines is envy inducing, the mirror scene in particular....

The supporting characters were strong, with a distracting detective ensuring the ending was a surprise, well played Ms C, well played!

If I had one complaint, it’s that I felt the rest of the team played a smaller role in this book than the previous ones, though this didn’t distract or impact the book in the slightest, it’s my pure selfishness in that I enjoy their interactions so much and want to read more about them.

I haven’t read anything from this author I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed to date, I think she is very under rated and don’t think she gets the recognition in this genre that she deserves at all. I really hope that more people pick up her books and talk about them to get her in front of a wider audience.

Though this book is one of a series, it’s not interlinked so can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. Just be prepared to lose yourself down a rabbit hole of desperately needing to read all her other books.

The book was amazing! Just like the others in the series! I couldn’t put it down and will probably re-read. I couldn’t put my finger on who the bad guy was until revealed 😊 I really have enjoyed reading all of the books and cannot wait to hear about Hawk’s story next!
