I really enjoyed reading this book. I can't wait to read the sequel. This is a story about growth and finding yourself, about moving on and about finding your family (which doesn't have to be blood related).

It starts a bit slow but it's because Grewe Glover is setting the scenery. And what a world building it is! Grewe Glover does an impressive job with the imaginary world, that feels like reality, and the characters that are relatable and loving. You can feel that the author put in a lot of time researching. It's meticulous, everything from the language, the culture and the scenery. The imaginary world is so vivid, I can almost touch it. This definitely brings the story to life.

The pace is perfect, in my opinion and the writing effortless. The main character, Neysa, is an adult (I loved that), she is relatable and I loved seeing her grow and blossom. The love story was building up throughout the story and I enjoyed seeing it developing.

Thank you so much to the publisher for the free book! <3

When I hear the word "fae" I'm always in, even if I have to admit that I constantly have Acotar in mind as a standard. This novel was very cute, even if the initial pacing was a little bit boring and too stretched. Nontheless, the world presented has some original elements that I appreciated.
Another interesting aspect was the target: we have an adult book, with cruel and realistic battles and yes, steam too that it's always good (for me).
I'm quite curious about the next book!

Another Beast's Skin had potential to be a great book. It's just disappointing that nothing really happened in the first half of this book. We do get a ton of information dropped onto us though. So eventually the pace picks up and we get some action around the half-way mark. I just feel like the balance was off in this and if all the information was spread throughout the book - I think I would have liked this a lot more. It just felt like a lot to handle in the beginning in my opinion.

As for the characters, they were okay. I'll admit that some things still confuse me now about them but they were alright. Borderline likable but I couldn't really connect with them. Then there's the romance and eh, it was okay. Not really a big fan of love triangles but once that got out of the way - the book was more enjoyable.

I also wanted more than what I got (romance-wise) between two people. Maybe I will in the next book but I'm not sure at this point. They had their cute moments though.

In the end, I just have unanswered questions right now about how this actually ended.

This was definitely not my favorite romance I've ever read. While I'm not a romance aficionado, I do read them occasionally and I much prefer characters who interact realistically and whose dialogue feels natural. This wasn't what I got from "Another Beast's Skin".

I did enjoy reading this book although it was a bit slow and I'm not sure how I fell about the writing style.
I also had some trouble picturing the main character as an adult. I don't know why but she felt a bit immature to be an adult, she felt more like a young adult to me. With that sad I liked the concept and it did have some steam in it without it taking over the story. In conclusion it was a good read.

Another Beasts Skin follows Neysa, who, after the death of her father, leaves behind her life in Los Angeles and moves to England to start afresh. Her new home resides in a quiet little town where she comes across a peculiar bunch of people – people who help her unmask the dark secrets of her past.

This book started out strong, I liked the writing and was invested early on. It had the potential to be something more, but it missed the mark. Overall, the narrative was vague, it felt like I was trying to read through a layer of mist – I couldn’t’ get a grasp on the characters, where the book was headed or what the book was trying to be. At first it added to the mystery, but after a while nothing cleared up and I was more of less left in the dust. I mean two of the characters kissed, and they were practically strangers – sure crazier things have happened, but there was absolutely no build up to this, it just happened. They were falling in love before we even had a chance to get to know the protagonist, let alone the love interest. I think if Glover took more time to develop the characters, the setting and the plot this would have felt less jarring.

Not to mention the main character Neysa is written like a young adult, but is actually 35?

Another Beasts Skin could be polished into something great; I like Glover's writing style and the intrigue created early on in the story, but there are too many rough edges as is for me to continue reading.

I did not finish this book. The Mc was no the age of the target audience and no relatable. The plot was unorganized and fell flat. The writing was nothing special neither were the plot and characters.

I am sorry for the inconvenience but I don’t have the time to read this anymore and have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.

The cover is beautiful, and honestly, I did ask for an arc based on the cover. After reading the synopsis, it sounded like something I would love.
However, it was not the case. I really tried to love it and started this multiple times. But it just didn't do anything for me. I couldn't get into it... I was so disappointed but after 70% I just gave up.
The beginning was just too slow and the characters were uninteresting.

eARC provided by the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a train wreck. We had the potential for a solid ya fantasy but unfortunately this missed the mark for me. I appreciate what Glover was trying to accomplish here, however, the vast majority read like a very rough draft to me, almost... incomplete? I feel that as it is currently, Another Beast's Skin would definitely benefit from a few more revisions and edits to strengthen the overarching world building, magic system, character depth as well as inter-character relationships. So much talk of the fae culture and history, especially at the beginning, will turn readers off. This should be spread out through the story and cut down as not all of it seemed that relevant.

This is a new adult book. It has a little spice but more plot than anything. The world building was interesting and I love the characters

For some reason, I had high expectations for this one! I guess the cover prepared me for something more!

But alas, I was disappointed to the point that I had to stop reading and struggled to pick it up again making it a real feat to complete this book. I am a character driven person, I will admit, but that does not prevent me from enjoying action packed books. but the characters!!! oh the characters needed sooo much more work! They certainly did not feel the age they were given and even if they were written in their teens or early 20s instead it would still not justify some of their actions as they are deeply inconsistent and their choices just feel like well placed plot devices but making the whole book off putting in my opinion.

I do not even want to talk about the love triangle. A big no on that, sorry!

Neysa, a thirty something divorcee runs off to England after her divorce and finds out her life isn’t quite what she always thought…
While the story had so much potential, it was both too slow and too fast. The first portion of the book seemed very slow and like information was just being dumped on the reader, whereas the second half had constant action with little to no transition. I found it a bit hard to follow. I did enjoy the story, I just wish it was fleshed out a bit more thoroughly with more character development.

Loved this book! The characters were loving, the world building amazing and you could tell the author put a lot of work in her research. The culture and language were meticulous. As you get into the book you get more hooked and you can´t put the book down. I really enjoyed it and am waiting for the next.

This was something I don't usually gravitate to but I enjoyed reading Another Beast's Skin. The world was definitely interesting and I enjoyed meeting the different characters throughout. Neysa was definitely a relatable character.

First thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an arc of this book.

Another beast's skin is the first book in a fantasy serie by Jessika Grewe Glover.

I did struggle a bit in the beginning to get into the book, but it get more interesting to more I got into it. After the dead of her father, Neysa pur everything on hold and move from L.A. to England. She made new friends, but quickly her life got weirder and she got pull into a life of having to stabilize the Veil between the human and the Fae world. And on a journey to find the four crystals that went missing along with three faes.

There is definitely a lot going on here - the building of a new system and reality was sometimes hard to keep up with. Good read though if you enjoy fae lore!

I loved this books. The characters were very well developed and I was completely invested in their journey. The romantic tension in this one was chef's kiss. Reading this book was like watching a movie unfold in my mind. I cannot wait for the sequel. I would recommend this book not only to fantasy readers but also non fantasy readers that have always wondered if they should give the genre a try.
