This book is amazing. It puts a book in the niche that I am looking for. Fae, ADULT MC and some tension. Jessika knew what she was doing when she wrote this book. I would compare it to ACOTAR and Folk of the Air, but for ADULTS. I mean, the MC is in her 30's!

After the death of her father, Neysa puts her career on hold to move to coastal England. The friends she makes in town give her a new sense of self, but quickly she gets pulled into a plot to stabilize the Veil which divides both the human world and the Fae realm. In this fantastical world, we find Neysa's anxiety of soldiering through the world, unaware of who she truly is, and the boundaries she surpasses once her true self is realized. Love, death, blood, and friendship all combine, taking us from the rugged English coast, throughout Eastern Europe, Peru, Los Angeles, and into Aoifsing, the realm that will suffer along with our world if the Veil cannot be stabilized.

I consumed this book. I was up until 3 am reading it. I could not put it down once I started. I am loving more novels whose main characters and perspectives are not 20-something girls. I never saw any of the twists coming and I cannot wait for book 2 to follow Neysa and the trio more into their adventures. I will be looking to get approved for the ARC of book 2 and cannot wait for my physical cover to come in the mail!

A special thank you goes out to GenZ Publishing, & NetGalley for providing me a copy of this book for review!

Neysa rents a cottage on the English coast to get away after her divorce and losing her father. There she discovers she is part Fae and that the Veil between realms is in danger. She and the Fae she befriends who are there to protect the Veil must find 4 missing crystals to secure it and save all the realms.

Presenting an endearing, slightly wicked sense of humor, there is an undoubtable charm to this story and an intrigue in its exciting nature. So excited in some parts that while you are reading you seem to miss things and need to read back.

The POV is quite personal and delves wonderfully into the protagonist's thoughts. You feel as if you are in Neysa's place. Very detailed descriptions that sometimes hit that sweet spot of painting the perfect picture. Gifted with likeable characters you get invested in.

The book feels a little disjointed at the beginning, sort of like random scenes put together either sentences or paragraphs are missing. It kind of stumbles until it finds its groove. Some of the explanations or historisizing as I call it are a bit convoluted. In some parts, it seems that the author is so thrilled to tell us the story that she seems to skip parts (or they are editing mistakes)

Even with the aforementioned problems I enjoyed this book quite a lot. That finale really has me anticipating the sequel.

The was an interesting story. The first half of the book is a lot of world building but it’s interesting, I loved learning about the crystals. I also really liked how Neysa was an older character, which I could relate better too. I also like her and Caderyn’s enemy to lover relationship, but I also liked her with another character and wouldn’t have mind a harem story. 😅

Strong Points

MC over 30 🙌🏻
Unique premise
Fae😏
Multi-setting
Weaker points for me:

MC could come across a little immature especially for being over 30
I didn’t really gel with the writing style, that may be due to being in a weird mindset so will be giving the book another chance!
Overall, i feel like it read a little more YA than Adult in my opinion but will be enjoyed by fae and fantasy fans nonetheless! I will be looking out for book 2

First off, I just want to say that I almost DNF this book but I read a few 5 stars reviews and some of them indicated that lower rated ones didn't really finish the novel so I continue to read on and finish the book.
I really expected a lot from this since the blub is amazing. I love fae romances and I’m not gonna lie the plot has so much potential.
This was all over the place for me, I was confused towards some interactions and scenes that sometimes I skip a paragraph.
I did not connect with the characters, which made it really hard to finish. Overall it's a decent read, and if you’re into fae mated trope this one is for you.

Such an unusual premise but I thoroughly enjoyed it! I enjoyed seeing a fae realm compete with our contemporary world, and it reminded me of "the Bargainer" series by Laura Thalassa. Also, fae realms being connected to England? What a twist!

Neysa's life is in free fall, her dad passed away and she just went through a divorce. She does the only thing she can think of and seeks a fresh start in the wilderness of the countryside.

There were several things I enjoyed about Neysa, her indomitable spirit, her knowledge and expertise in swords, and her domination of the stock market. She is a mess of contradiction, serious, vulnerable, sweet, but most of all brave. Despite the severe odds that are continuously stacked against her, there is resilience, an inability to cower in the face of danger. I enjoyed her natural curiosity and her thirst for knowledge.

The secondary characters were intriguing and the premise of the story kept me engaged. There was an easy rhythm and chemistry to the characters that comes from great writing and plotting. I enjoyed the urban fantasy spin where the traditional world meets the modern and thought the execution was phenomenal.

My only concern is that sometimes the narration threw me off a bit and I wasn't quite sure why certain scenes occurred. This could very well be resolved or addressed within the sequel so I won't whine too much about these minute details at this point.

Thank you to GenZ Publishing for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Another Beast's Skin is a great start to a new series and a fantastic debut novel! It was beautifully written and I could not only picture the surroundings of our world, but it was also easy to imagine the different provinces in the fae realm. I loved the camaraderie and chemistry between all of the characters. I can't wait to read the next book in the series and more books from Jessika Grewe Glover!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really liked this book! I love that the character is in her 30s and is figuring out her life. The plot and world building was enjoyable, and so was the romance. I've been on a fantasy binge, especially fantasy including fae, and I was no disappointed! I easily fell into the world and couldn't put this book down!

Personally, I felt this book had a ton of potential but it fell short.

One of my biggest issues was the pacing of the book. For most of the first third, I was really unsure of what was happening with the characters and plot. I found myself having to reread pages, ends of chapters, and it was honestly difficult to get to chapter to chapter. It's also tough to really connect to the main character... there are some small details littered in the beginning, but not enough for us to grab hold of.

There is also a ton of world-building but it's done in a way that's in a weird history lesson. There is so much telling and not any showing, which is one of the best parts of reading fantasy... seeing a world develop in your mind. The reader misses out on this aspect and is really like reading a story where there will be a quiz following.

I did have a tough time distinguishing the characters between each other, when paired with the pacing problem, this became a very blurry read.

How to write fantasy books? At first, you have to create a world with all the details. Write down every single stone, path - just to create a space for the reader to immerse with. Here? This part is definitely missing.

For me, it is more like a draft than a full, ready-to-publish book. We have scenes or characters who are appearing out of nowhere - no linking in between. The same with the plot - there is an idea, there is a plan (I suppose), but many things are left unsaid and it is like some pages are missing in the whole story. Not nice.

But! I adore the cover. I like the idea here and I think the author has potential, but this one is just a really low standard of writing and construction side.

Thank you Netgalley and GenZ Publishing for an eARC in return for an honest review.
Neysa who is in her mid thirties decides to leave America and stay in England after the death of her father and getting a divorce.
She meets a trio, Corra, Silas, and Cade and she becomes friends with them. This friendship will take her on a path she wasn't expecting.
I found this book to be just okay. I found myself thinking of a very popular Fae series because this character's name is similar. And Nesya and Cade being able to talk to each other through their minds reminded me of the bond that another couple has in that other series.
I did like all the talk of crystals. But I won't continue this series.

Unfortunately, this one just wasn’t for me. The MC is described as an old soul type who studied swords and knives and the folk tales her father told her. She’s 35, already been married and divorced and had high pressure finance jobs and yet she is pretty impulsive and immature. She came across as very shallow to me and I just didn’t connect with her. I feel like the development of the other characters suffers for the complicated, realm traveling story and the rushed exposition. I love fantasy and this really called to me but the execution of the story telling and the character building wasn’t there for me. I wish I had a better review.

Thank you to Netgalley and Gen Z for the digital review copy.

I'm not sure what to say about this one honestly. I had high hopes for an epic story. The cover and title drew me in, but the story let me down. It felt very 2 dimensional and connecting with the characters was hard. A lot of info dumping and then a lot of parts that still just didn't make sense. It's like a scene would happen and I'd be confused by it, then it was explained as if I knew what was going on. Lots of going back and rereading to see if I missed something. It has a great premise and could be an epic story but it just isn't there yet.

Unfortunately I am not the reader for this particular title.

It had some strong ideas, and a lot of potential, but would could have used a stronger hand on the editing.
Having a main character who is older, as well as a secondary character who is bisexual are excellent points of interest.
It could perhaps do quite well on kindle unlimited

Okay so this book has a lot of promise and I love the concept but there were several things that bothered me and kept me from really enjoying it. Without giving away any spoilers, I struggled to connect with Neysa because she didn't feel like a complete character. She didn't question anything happening to her, just kind of went with whatever was happening. It also felt like she knew things she shouldn't - or that she maybe she learned them "off screen" but it ended up confusing me as the reader because I couldn't understand how that knowledge came to be. Also, I'm a huge fan of a well done love triangle but this one felt like it was lacking and just there to drive drama. I would love to reread this after some extensive rewriting/editing because the premise is so great and the world building capability is there but it just fell flat for me.

Another Beast's Skin was a good read, The main charter Neysa is easy to relate too. It helped me move threw the story.

This story started quite slow, with too much information but dragged in the story after it picks up it got better, I liked Neysa and Caderyn's story, I would do a prequel of the beginning and then start the story instead, the whole story and world-building were interesting but something was missing. Overall give it a go if you love Fae, enemies to lovers. Let's see how book 2 goes.

Another beasts skin was magical, action packed and took me on an adventure train I didn't want to get off of.Neysa is so strong and it was a pleasure to watch her grow as a person. I'm usually very particular about my fantasy reads but this book pleasantly surprised me. It completely took me and kept me. Alot of fantasy books are set in older times but I loved the more modern twist on it!I cannot wait to read the rest of this series.
