I am not qualified enough to review this text, however I did find it very informative and I hope to decolonize my own research methodologies by way of this text (and others to follow). I ended up buying a paper copy of the text for reference

An engaged and comprehensive exploration of indigenous methodologies that offers researchers and others a rich inroad into the topic. Valuable for all to read

I think this will contribute greatly to the academic world, and will be of great use to students and researchers who will be pursuing more research into Indigenity.

Although this was difficult to read in the NetGalley app (lack of highlighting or notes features), it was an engaging and refreshing re-Introduction to Indigenous Methdologies. I deeply appreciate how the book begins with the practice it describes and immerses the reader in storytelling; highlighting the power and importance of narration and positioning of the writer. I particularly appreciated at the beginning taking the time to explain the interconnection that can be forged with other methodologies, but clarifying the difference in praxis and relationship that sets this apart and makes it a necessary method. As I continue to work through this text, re-reading section to share with my students, I’m grateful for the knowledge
It provides and highly recommend to any instructor working on community engaged research with their students.

This is a must-read for anyone interested in Indigenous research. As a CanLit PhD interested in Indigenous literatures, I found the chapters on oracy and storytelling to be particularly insightful.

Indigenous Methodologies offers a way for people from non-indigenous backgrounds and who are interested in approaching research in a way that aligns with the Indigenous way of interacting with the Earth. This is a very important collection and should be adopted across industries and universities as it provides a more respectful and harmonious way of understanding who we are and the how we impact the Earth. It collects the wisdom, stories, and practices that Indigenous peoples have used for centuries in connecting with and respecting mother nature.
