Satisfied is an excellent book! It was so rejuvenating to sit with Alyssa’s words and be encouraged by her stories and scriptural references. It is definitely one that I will be coming back to... I highlighted many sections I don’t want to overlook in the daily hustle of life. Whether we feel alone, overworked, longing for community and connection, or waiting for the next “big thing” to happen in our lives, this book has practical advice on what to do and how to evaluate what’s going on at a heart level, all through the lens of Scripture.

Satisfied: Finding Hope, Joy, and Contentment Right Where You Are by Alyssa Bethke is a beautiful, honest book. The author is so vulnerable in this book, talking about her life and struggles and how to find contentment in them. The book is filled with lovely, homey photos that add so much. Reading this book is like having a cup of tea and sitting down for an honest conversation with a good friend. It is a treasure. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

I've followed Alyssa Bethke for a while and was so looking forward to this book. Alyssa has always felt very real and open to me and continues to feel that way in this book. Her writing points toward Jesus - seeking Him and being satisfied in Him. I was reading this on my Kobo eReader, but imagine it will be so beautiful in hard copy. Would definitely recommend purchasing that version of it. I loved the photos throughout and recipes at the end.

This is a really light, quick, encouraging read. When I picked it up, I was a little worried it was going to be highly aimed at young mothers (and not being a mother yet myself, was worried it wouldn't be applicable to me) or those with children. However, I was surprised at how universal all the messages in the book were to those of any age or stage of life. It wasn't particularly theologically heavy or full of any sorts of deep messages I (a person who grew up in and lives in a deeply engaged faith) hadn't heard before. But it was nonetheless encouraging. I was particularly moved by the sections on loneliness and making friends in new places. I love the author and her husband's ministries and this book definitely falls in line with the rest of their work. The only thing I could say negatively about this book is that if you listen to their podcast or follow them on social media, you kind of already know where this book is going/the lessons contained in it.

Confession: I read cookbooks. I prefer cookbooks that have amazing photos and memoir-type stories. This book is venturing into that idea. It's storytelling, almost longer devotionals, with beautiful photos. It's not a study or discipleship, It's friendship in a book.

I can see leaving it on the coffee table, thumbing through it from time to time, as a reminder I am not walking this Christian faith alone.

Satisfied was a balm to my soul. The book is beautifully laid out, and Alyssa’s words were both challenging and comforting. I think we all need that gentle reminder that God loves us and is with us in every season; it is a blessing to find satisfaction in him.

Satisfied by Alyssa Joy Bethke was such a gift and treasure to read! I have been looking forward to her first solo book for years and years! Thank you to Netgalley and Worth Publishing for a digital copy to review & share about with the launch team. The recipes included are such a treat! Yum. And the photographs were lovely, beautiful, bright, added so much dimension - I cannot wait to see them in the physical copy of the book. I love in the pages she kept reminding the reader that ALL are holy moments - there are no setbacks or survival seasons. All can be done to the glory of the Lord, He is always waiting and available for us to come to Him so that we found our all SATISFIED IN HIM. Just as Alyssa says, I can look around and see God's hand in everything around me - situation, physical location, the mess, the daily monotony with kids and writing, all of it. He is there & we simply have to respond and be satisfied in Him, right where we are. I love this quote: "He is the healer, He is the rescuer, we simply have to cry out to him!" Yes please! Thank you for the gentle, encouraging, strong reminders to bring my all to Christ - no matter what. Thank you for the example of what true hospitality and friendships looks like, as well as walking through perhaps unwelcome seasons or a puzzle of life which is not what you ever expected or wanted. Because HE USES ALL THINGS FOR HIS GLORY! IT can be a wrestle to find hope, joy and contentment in life... Yet As Alyssa says, "the wrestle is the invitation, to come to Jesus, the living water who longs to refresh, fill and satisfy our weary souls." What beautiful encouragement throughout this book. Thank you for these gracious words.

I wish that this book was a little more focused on things we can do to make our lives happy without simply circling back to religion. I should have read the description of genre a little better before requesting!

This book is a sweet read full of so many different reminders. I don’t think I learned anything new in this book, but Alyssa shared such deep truth to remind me of the faithfulness of God and the what he has given me. This book is for everyone; as a college student Alyssa’s words ministered to me in this hard season of change and transition, this book reminded me of God’s faithfulness and how to stay satisfied with where he has me. It’s such a gentle read with so much vulnerability and a push to be close to Christ.

I have been a fan of Alyssa for a long time and this book lives up to all my expectations. Alyssa speaks so humbly about her relationship with the Lord, her husband, and her children and this book provides an even deeper look into her lifestyle and home. She never sounds judgy, but it reads as though she is right in the thick of turmoil searching for God's grace alongside you. It is a beautiful book that reminds you what satisfaction looks like in the mundane and hard times. It is a very needed read and a beautiful book for display. Alyssa has out done herself!
