I have read all previous books from this author but didn't enjoy this one as much.

It was well written but just didn't have the 'grab' factor for me unfortunately.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this authors 6th novel as I have all his previous ones. This book is like two stories in the one book but with a connection between the two that is revealed towards the end. The Daughters Choice explores relationships, love and choices and was a pleasure to read.
Single Dad Dave to Rose, is an amazing character who is not only a loving Dad to his only daughter but also inspirational and supportive. Rose who is about to be married and is on a relaxation break with her friend Cara which has been arranged by Dave only for Cara to get a phone call which takes her back home leaving Rose on her own. Its here that Rose meets Cassie, an older lady who is keen to hear Roses life story before telling her own.

Although I found this story to be very predictable from the beginning with no major surprises or plot twists, I did find it to be an enjoyable read. The main character, Rose, is likeable and I found myself feeling very sympathetic towards her as she discovers lots of home truths and finds that the people she loves most in the world have betrayed her in different ways. I enjoyed the way that it was mostly written in third person narrative, but then switched to first person as each character told their own parts of the story. This makes the reader feel as though the character is speaking directly to them and, as Cassie was telling her story, I was able to put myself in the shoes of Rose as she listens to the story unfolding to her.
An enjoyable, easy read which would be perfect for holidays……if we can ever have one of those!

I really enjoyed the beginning and the end of this book. I was intrigued by the way the characters were brought together, and I lov d the way the story wrapped up. The middle third of this book dragged for me and I found myself skimming as the characters told their stories because I just wanted to get to the big reveal (which I was able to correctly guess early on). I loved the spin on familial relationships and the ups and downs that can come into those. Ultimately the idea of second chances and the hope to make things right prevailed.

This book was sent to me on Kindle by Netgalley for review. Somewhat bothersome was instead of totally being an active story, it was told to another person. The outcome was somewhat predictable about the mother and the boyfriend. However, the author is good at his craft and keeps the story moving. Try this one.

A novel about family, relationships, and how keeping secrets can destroy even the strongest bond. The story centres around Rose and her life having been raised by her father, Dave.
Although I mostly enjoyed this book I wouldn't say that I loved it. Some of the life stories told by Rose and Cassie are quite long winded and somewhat repetitive and I found myself skim reading several pages.
The big reveL from Cassie is, in my opinion a bit pointless. It doesn't really add to the story other thN affect Rose's view of her father but it didn't really need to happen for the betrayal that Rose has to face.
The storyline in itself is well written and you do find yourself in Rose's side and you defiant things to work out for the best so it is worth reading if you don't mind skipping a page or two.

I enjoyed this book as it was an easy, engaging read. Although it was somewhat predictable who the woman Rose met could be, it didn’t ruin the storyline. The characters are still in my head two days after finishing the book and I experienced compassion, annoyance, disappointment, and lots of emotions while reading. Thanks to Net Gallery for the complimentary preview.

Rose is excited – it is a week before her wedding and she is off to a spa with her matron of honour and best friend – a treat gifted to her by her father. As they arrive at the beautiful hotel they are girly and giggly (which I must admit irritated me somewhat). They retire to the dining room to have lunch. Meanwhile there is a glamourous older woman, Cassie, who is watching the girls carefully who contrives to draw attention to herself.

Sadly Rose’s friend receives an urgent message that she must return home and Rose is left to enjoy the spa on her own. However, Cassie has her own agenda and manipulates the situation so that she spends the day with Rose – the plan is for them to both reveal their ‘stories’.

Sorry, but I guessed it – the plot – so no great reveal for me. Interesting to see how it turned out but certainly not a page-turner. Apologies to the author.

Thank you to the author, publishers and NetGalley for providing an ARC via my Kindle in return for an honest review.

I always look forward to reading any new book written by S. D. Robertson. And this one certainly
didn’t disappoint. Like always, I had to read it quickly to find out what was going to happen. The book is written in such a way, you think you might know what’s going on, but there is always a little twist. If you are looking for an easy read that keeps you interested right to the end, then this book is for you.

A week before Rose’s wedding she discovers information about her life that will change her future forever. This story will take you on a ride like you would not expect. Will Rose have the strength to go on?
I enjoyed the journey in this book. There is a lot to discover about choices and decision that are made that effect your life and the lives of others.
Thanks to Netgalley for complementary copy.

Woah - what a book . . . Get a copy & start reading!

Really enjoyable and I absolutely recommend.

I very quickly picked up on what was happening and when it was revealed I was pleased and keen to see how it would go.

I really enjoyed Cassie’s story much more so than Rose’s as it was complex as humans and emotions tend to be. Having now finished the book I think it was good to keep the story from Rose a simpler and happy so that it didn’t take away from the book as it progresses besides the depth to Rose’s story isn’t what she knows to tell it’s what’s yet to come.

I loved the character of her father what every good man should be and who every child deserves to have, that was central to the whole story but also really lovely.

I do wish the book had been a few chapters longer to see her build a happy relationship with her mother and siblings, but I guess you can’t have it all.

The Daughters Choice follows the story of Cassie and Rose as they meet at a health spar as strangers and tell each other their life stories. But are they strangers? Do they have a connection somewhere in their past?

If I'm honest, if I hadn't received this book as an arc for review it would have joined my DNF list. Basically because I worked out the reveal before the end of page 1, to me it felt to obvious.

Their stories were well written, and I was able to connect with Rose. But it was all long-winded and a bit slow (maybe because I'd figured out the reveal?)

Overall, not a book I enjoyed sadly.

A really good read. The first book I've read by this author and it was a really interesting read .Rose has been bought up by her father and they are incredibly close but when she goes for a spa break a week before her wedding to Ryan she will have her life turned upside down by some very damaging revelations. Can things ever be the same for Rose and can she forgive those closest to her in order to get her life back on track and will she finally find the happiness she deserves.

An emotional story told from the perspective of Cassie and Rose who meet at a spa break. Rose is abandoned by her friend and is kept company by Cassie.

I really enjoy reading books written by S. D. Robertson as they are always books that make you think what you would do if you were in the characters position and they always seem to stay with you after you have finished the story too. Rose lost her mum when she was very young and has been brought up by her dad, which has helped make their bond strong, but when something happens just before she is about to get married, she wonders if she really know the man who is suppose to be her father. The one that doesn't keep secrets from her but what if he is keeping a big secret from her? what will happen when Rose find out? I liked how this book played out, it kept my attention and I wondered what I would do in Rose's position. I liked the bond she had with her father it reminded me of how close my dad and I are. I found it a heartbreaking and emotional read but I could not put it down.
