This book isn't a one read book, it's a book that should take permanent storage in your bedside table and would make a perfect gift.

I absolutely loved Look Up by Hilary Bernstein. Look Up is geared toward teen girls. The book contains 200 different prayers to help a teen girl on their walk with the Lord. Each prayer contains a Bible verse and a closing thought/promise that ties each entry all together. I used this book as part of my own devotion time. At times, I forgot that this book was geared toward teens because I found that what I was reading could be applicable to any stage of life. I believe this book can help encourage others in their Christian walk, especially teen girls. I highly recommend this book and plan on telling others about Look Up! This beautiful book of prayers is focused on teenage girls and helping them grow in their faith. It was inspiring for girls of any age and helped me to grow in my own faith as well.

As a mother of teens and a former high school teacher, I'm sometimes a little skeptical of books marketed to teen girls. They can sometimes wind up being saccharine sweet and devoid of substance.

This little book of prayers from Hilary Bernstein is terrific. It's well balanced, theologically correct, and just a generally great tool for modeling the spiritual discipline of prayer. While it is aimed at teen girls, I think anyone could glean something from it.

This would make a wonderful gift for a young woman who wants to grow in her relationship with the Lord.

In Look Up (teen girls), there are two hundred prayers geared toward young women going through their teenage years. This book encourages the reader to watch for the Lord. The reader is reminded too that when we feel like we are stuck in a pit, we must remember that God is our shield.


We are reminded too that God is our Comfort, Hope and Strength, that he fills us with hope, as well as giving us comfort when times are rough. We are reminded too the importance of thanking God for our many blessings. We are reminded that God cares about us as well.



Look Up (teen girls) reminds that it is God who offers us a light in the darkness as well as a peace that flows like a river. As well as the importance of pleasing God, and not pleasing people.



We are reminded too that God is our strong place, that he is with us during the bad times as well as the good. The prayers in this book remind us too the importance of not stressing and giving our troubles to the Lord.


If you are a teen girl, or know a teen girl, who needs encouragement in the form of prayers I’d highly recommend Look Up (teen girls).


I give Look Up, (teen girls) five out of five stars!
