Not exactly what you would expect in a visual guide to the Bible. There are some nice graphics but I was a little taken aback with some of the descriptions and relating events to modern day life. Maybe I'm too old fashioned but it bordered on disrespectful but I suppose that is the way the author views a relationship with Jesus. It may appeal to some but not to my taste.
I received an advanced reader copy and was under no obligation to write a review. The opinions expressed are my own. Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for allowing me to preview this book.

Note: I only received a sample of this book to read (Creation thru Joshua).

From what I was able to read of this book, I found it informative. I feel as though I can only review the part of the book I was given and not the entire book. I’m am interested in reading the complete book and reviewing it if able. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read part of the this book. (This review is also on GoodReads.)

Colorful and a fantastic quick resource for anyone needing just a boost of information about a biblical topic or story. The images are bright with a brief summary with scriptural references with three main points for each page.

Wittmer did a fantastic job in making these Bible stories simple yet precise. This is an excellent resource when learning and growing in the word. Something simple to be able to share with others who may not be ready for an in-depth study.

Thank you to Barbour Publishing and NetGalley for access to The 5-Minute Visual Guide to the Bible by Michael E Wittmer. I give this title 5 out of 5 tiaras because it will be added to my own son’s Bible class as a resource for learning about the Bible and enhancing his studies in 7th grade. I think this book is an excellent summary of the topics and stories we often hear in scripture. Well done!

Some good information but as an ebook I found it frustrating and very hard to navigate. For me to really review this I would need a hard copy.

Great resource especially for someone just getting into the world. Would make a great gift for a teen or adult.

I was thinking this book would be different than it was. I had envisioned that it would be more instructive in explaining more difficult to understand Bible verses, rather it was somewhat of a Bible retelling in a modern vernacular way. The artwork was very good but perhaps there should have been more.
The premise of a helpful book to guide people through the Bible is good but I think it fell short for me.

I received a complimentary version of this book from NetGalley and Barbour Publishing. All thoughts are my own.

As the Bible is complex for anyone to comprehend, I was excited in the potential this book held. Visually the book featured some phenomenal artistry; however, fell short everywhere else.

From the start, the cover fell below expectations compared to the various artists’ interpretation within the book, and feels like a missed opportunity to catch the readers’ eye.

The breathtaking art/photography found throughout the book, left with me with the impression there should be a more prominent acknowledgment to the artists as it only appeared in a small clip, easily overlooked.

Overall, the concept is a great idea, with the benefit of a reader being able to see three specific references to the Bible in a wide selection of topics. The opportunity fell within the introduction/summary on each chapter being ambiguous leaving the content needing validation. The book has potential, however, falls short of expectations.

A sincere thank you to NetGalley, Barbour Publishing, Inc, & Barbour Books for providing me an advance copy (ARC) of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to read this story and leave my review voluntarily.

I really enjoyed this sample of the book. It’s a really bite size gem of a book of stories from the bible along with some beautiful illustrations as well. I can’t wait to read the full book.

The 5- Minute Visual Guide to the Bible by Michael E. Wittier was a nice sample of what this complete book will be. I was honestly disappointed that there weren’t more pictures since that seems to be the point of this book. I did think the writings were nice, but I don’t think there was anything that would make this book stand out among the many other resources that are out there. I definitely think more pictures/illustrations are needed to make someone want to purchase this before others I’ve seen and actually own that are similar.

Thank you to NetGalley and Barbour Publishing, Inc. for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review.

The concept is similar to Zondervan's "A Visual Theology Guide to the Bible," but with different graphics and a more chronological approach to the material. Solid investment if you're looking for something that explains the ideas visually in a way that doesn't feel like a kids' Sunday School book.

I think this book fell flat for me because from the title I was expecting something vastly different. I expected more charts and graphs but this was more of a Bible overview with historical painting overlaid with text. This title and the description are very misleading.
